There is talk of impeachment because of several felony crimes involving surveillance. If dems do well in congressional races in 2006 it could happen.
    your thoughts?

My thoughts are that there must be such a thing as reincarnation. Nobody can be as stupid as you in one lifetime.

Impeach Bush? Never gonna happen. In fact, I suspect that the Republicans may pick up a few seats in the House and Senate in 2006. I have not seen a more inept bunch of losers as currently speaks for the Democrat Party in national politics. They will be back, but I suppose a drowning man has to hit bottom before he can kick to the surface. I honestly believe that 2006 will be rock bottom for Schumer, Kennedy, Durbin, Reed, Leahy, Dean, Pelosi, Boxer, Kerry, and McCain. Hillary, Obama, and a few other Democrats will climb out of the political abyss after the next election cycle.

Your next USA President will be Hillary Rodham Clinton. It will likely come to a race between her and Condoleeza Rice.

I was watching on the History Channel about the Battle of Midway. One of the keys to that battle victory was our ability to break the Japanese codes. We also broke the German codes, saving thousands of American lives. We had spys, and yes, we used surveillance. We didn't ask Congress or the American public for permission, we did what we HAD to!

With your logic (and I use that term loosely), I guess we should have impeached FDR too for these "crimes".

It is just proof that the likes of Schumer, Kennedy, Durbin, Reed, Leahy, Dean, Pelosi, Boxer, Kerry, McCain, Hillary, Obama (I cut and pasted) and people like Danr have no business fighting this war against our enemies HERE and abroad. They don't want to see us win because then they will be on the wrong side of history AGAIN.

I really have to believe that because they hate Bush so much, they WANT to see us fail in Iraq, they WANT to see the economy fail, they WANT everything that is NOT good for this country so they can come in and say, "See...now elect us and put us back in power so we can raise taxes and redistribute this money to our voters...your big payoff!"

Bush was man enough to admit we are surveying our enemies. It is what you do to protect this country. What do you think the CIA does for a living? When Clinton was president, he denied it.

Remember the release and misuse of over 900 FBI files was only part of a pattern of privacy violations by the Clinton Administration and its allies and agents?? Do you Danr? If anything that deserved impeachment, here was a case. These files were not of agents and people trying to destroy the country, but of their political enemies.

Talk about an injustice...but I am sure that didn't bother you.

There is a difference between spying on Germans and spying on U.S. citizens.

Bush won't be impeached, we've only got 872 days left of him.

Bush played the game pretty close to the line; too close to call at this time. If the GOP retains control of Congress, this will blow over. If they lose control, expect fireworks.

His supporters will always find a way to excuse whatever he does no matter how outrageous. His detractors will call for impeachment if he drinks the wrong brand of coffee for breakfast. This thread is living proof.

Everyone and everything inside the Washington DC beltway is completely corrupt and thoroughly broken. Americans deserve better but don't demand better, and apparently don't know any better, so we won't get any better. It's sad.

If you don't think that American citizens, sympathic to our German/Japanaese enemies, were not under surveillance during WWII, you are sadly mistaken. If you don't think there are American citizens, sympathic to muslim radicals NOT here in this country, you are living in a fantasy world.

I grew up in Buffalo and just outside of it in the suburb of Lackawanna, feds monitored and surveyed your "religion of peace" radicals and nailed them. Good! Half-dozen down, thousands to go! I for one have no issue with our feds surveying Mohammad and Yassir as they visit their local mosque or whatever hole they can find that points east.

There are enemies (due to poor imigration rules and laws) that are living right here in this country. They should be monitored, surveyed, and if they break the laws, prosecuted the full extent of the law. If they commit an act of treason, they should be shot. Period!

Cheers to Tony Blair and your citizens that had enough of the "religion of peace" as well. If you want to live in your country and ours, then you need to assimilate...NOT plan or carry out any means to destroy it for muslim gihad.

You have to understand the relationship the U.S. people have with their elected officals. The British people don't trust their government but you are government hugging politican lovers compared to us. We hold used car deals over politicans in terms of ethical values. So to give our government the power to spy on us as they please is a big deal. I agree that there are certain folks that need watching, but we've already contacted Andy's wife and she is on it. I personally feel pretty secure in that knowledge. I'll sleep better tonight.

Over here we get upset if they want to install cameras in public places. On your side of the pond, there are cameras everywhere. I couldn't believe how many camers there were in the Bradford/Leeds area anyway. I guess there are a ton of Muslims in that area and I imagine the government likes to know what they are doing. I had to wonder if there was anyone watching all those cameras or were they just there for figuring out what happened after it happened. Kind of like Asda parking lot cameras.

I believe that there were 500 FBI files, and Hillary allegedly found them on a Whitehouse coffee table two days after the statute of limitations had expired. Or something like that. This was domestic surveillance with malice aforethought.

Neither. This "latest scandal" is simply another attempt in a long series of attempts by the Democrats to throw excrement against a capitol wall and see what sticks. Standard lawyer practice. A recent FoxNews.com poll of 50,000 votes showed that 90 percent of those polled thought George Bush did the right thing with secret surveillance.

Ninety percent! It is difficult to get a 90 percent vote on anything. Ninety percent equates to damn near a unamamous vote in practical terms.

To assume that Democrats will regain the Senate and Congress, then successfully pursue an impeachment or sanction of G.W. Bush is a very "rosey" view of the situation. No chance. Furthermore, much of the mainsteaam media, most notably ther New York Times, is along for the DNC ride "to hell in an handbasket."
