we cannot blame obamas presidency ......my shift key is broken,,,the lack of caps is not intentional......

for the meltdown. we can blame an october suprise gone wrong, how did it start...the housing and banking collapse

some of us really need to look into how it started and the reasons for it

only then will reality set in

    is the solution this.....

    sieze private corporations
    sieze the banks
    silence the opposition
    indroctinate the youth
    nationalize everything

i think not...we have seen that before haven't we, deorc, please use your german to english translation thingy when you reply so we can read it in english

Sorry Jack I have no idea as to what you mean by the last comment?
Now again Pep I do think you realy need to read up on the politics of your own country, the House of Representatives had a election and the Senate last had a election on November the 4th 2008 (that is 6 months ago)

    sieze private corporations
    sieze the banks
    silence the opposition
    indroctinate the youth
    nationalize everything

Sounds ominouse dont it, but tell me what private corporation has he siezed, what Bank has he siezed and who has he silenced? Indoctrinating the Youth LOL has he set up the Obama youth camps then? Nationalizing everything!! so the oil companies are now state run, car production is state run, Wallmart is a GUM store LOL
They have proped up failing buisnesses and Banks Yes, they have ASKED for broder powers to seize non-bank financial firms, whose collapse would hurt the economy, that includes insurers, investment firms and hedge funds.
But that is not yet law

    1. The government will be charged with broad oversight and risk assessment of all financial firms whose collapse would threaten economic stability.

    2. The government can seize said firms should they look as if they might fail and can use a plethora of measures such as assuming partial ownership, guaranteeing losses and buying assets to keep the firm from failing. It would also allow the government to break existing contracts like those between AIG and its executives that laid out the bonus provisions.

Now I remember the complaints because of the big pay outs to excecutives, this measure would help stop this and as the proposal says PART OWNERSHIP

What I see in Jacks post is (And I hope I have this wrong) a comparison between Nazi Germany in the 30's or Stalins Russia and Modern day America

    Obama

What was he said today ? We could not maintain the current out go,and we owed the Chinse a vast amount of money .
Dart board poitics at best. They knew this trying out full on socialism was not going to be popular. More than 75% of Americans believe that government is to big and Obama and congress are spending to much money in all the wrong places.
I am aware of when elections take place and congress has been run by a dem majority the last two years.
Thirty states have written congress a letter to validate states rights. Four others are doing the same using the second amendment, with more to follow. The hint of states not sending money to Washington ( taxes ) will force a peacefull solution to a word parsing secret retooling of America.
If America needs to do something is to look at the ground that has been covered by the current administration since their inception. They are turning every thing upside down and are try to force their way on bond holders of Chrysler.
Offering a percentage of amout 35% to settle their claims when bond holders are the first to be paid by law.
Feeding wall street money, and asking K street for more.
We the People deserve a lot better and it will happen.
This is not a banana republic or a country where you guilty until proven innocent. We left those countries many a generation ago to build a counrty where freedom and safety of rights and self are our primary docments of law.
In America we do not seize troubled companies. They are put into bankruptcy usually chapter 11 and a reorganization is not possible then chapter 13. Banks should have been the only companies to be helped, the rest is coved by United States law !

Pep I do not mean to be rude but have you actualy read any of your posts? You make statements that have no basis in fact the make up of the previouse Congress was as follows

    Senate Dems 48, Reps 49 ind 2
    Representatives Dems 235, Rep 198

So while there was a majority in the House there was not in the Senate also it was a Republican President in power

Were do you get the 75% of Americans believe that the Goverment is to big after all according to a earlier post they are too stupid yo realise that :D
Want to tell us were the correct places to spend the money is?
You keep on talking about Socialism what Socialism??
You say in one breath that the Goverment is trying to force itself on to bond holders at Chryislar yet with the other that failing companies should be allowed to fail!! You do know that it is Chryslar who asked the Goverment for a bailout dont you? not the other way round. What the Goverment is doing is trying to make sure that it at least has some controll for it's(YOUR) tax dollars is that so wrong?? Here is what GM Motors say to there Bondholders

GM warned in a letter to bondholders that if the debt-for-equity swap failed to go through by June 1 it would “expect to seek relief through the US bankruptcy code”. In such circumstances, GM said bondholders might receive no “consideration at all”. GM set a May 26 deadline for bondholders to respond

So what would you prefer that they get something or nothing?

Tell me a single company that the Goverment Siezed?? and now is run by goverment officials?? Sure they have given money to failing corporations but they are not run from the white house or from capitol hill. Oh and you do owe China a great deal of money so what was wrong with Obama saying so??

The 75% comes from a Fox pole done in the last couple of days.
The house looks like a majority with Pelosi being speaker. One or two changing in the Senate can effectivly do the same.
Rude no, may be ignorant to a degree. You live in a time zone that is non U.S .
You must have lived here a good long while to see what has happened to this country . The good and bad. I have sevety years behind me here and quit a few years in Military service as a FMF Corpsman, in Recon. FMF is Fleet Marine Force.
Seized companies , how about arm twisted through paying back the unions for their votes.
Sit back and watch the game and have a beer. The last run across the plate has not yet come.

Oh please Please dont start on the "He dont understand because he aint American routine" I think that I have amply demonstrated time and time again that I DO Understand American Politics very well. It might have seemed like a Majority but in FACT it was not
Now lets look at the Fox poll shall we they asked 900 (yes nine hundred registerd voters) there opinion and from that number came up with 71% saying that American Goverment was too large.

    http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/051509_poll.pdf

Now the population of the United States is aprox 306,427,000 million according to the 2009 census of that number aprox 215,000,000 were of voting age and in the last election 132,000,000 million actualy voted (61.6%) so do you honestly say that 900 voters gives a true and unbiased reflection of what the American people think?
Yet again you have failed to answer the question I asked.
Congratulations on your Service Pep I am sure it was most honrable, Corpsman is a branch of the service that holds my utmost respect and doesnt get the recignition it truely desrves.

    More

Being a Corpsman is not a branch of the service. It is a rate of the United stated Navy, like Yoeman are. We also take care of the needs of the United States Marine Corps.
Being a Fleet Marine Corps Corpsman means you will go through both branches of basic traing with Corps School in between. You will wear the uniform of the Marine Corps as long as you serve the FMF .You will be indoctrinated to be a rifleman first ,and to perform other specialized duties.
They can range from recon, logistics, battle preparation and numerous other items.

You are assimilated and did even not know !
You can never be what you never were !

Just a different way of looking at it, over here a medic is a different branch of the Armed forces be they in the Marines or Navy or Army or even god forbid the Air Force LOL and to be honest I thought that Corpsman were part of the U.S. Navy's Hospital Corps which is a seperate Branch of the service? As I was under the impression that the USM did not have its own Medical corp but perhaps I am wrong on that one?
You mention recon would that be Sarcs

Actually DeOrc you do seem to have a pretty good grasp on American politics. What annoys people is that you have the gall to look at it as if you were some type of "foreigner". Ooops... forgot you ARE a "foreigner". ;)
