    Rally today. My 3rd .

Trump's immigration plan sounds good so far. 7000+ they say are here, kinda packed.

    Many protestors outside.

    So far so good.

Hell yeah. He was down in Louisiana touring the devastation from flooding. Where was Obama? He was golfing in the Hamptons. Where was Hillary? Anywhere she didn't have to get her feet wet.

Trump just visited with the Mexican president which was very presidential even though he's not president yet. The visit was great, but Hillary's camp was mocking him. Go figure.

Trump has made up lost ground and is gaining on Hillary in the polls. He's now within only a couple of points nationwide. He's doing fantastic.

Glad you're attending the rally, but watch out for those protesters. They are very violent.

    IQless1 trump supporters are scum

I see he wants to deport those convicted of violent crimes. I'm assuming that the current status quo is to lock them up. I don't understand why he thinks it's better for violent criminals to be set free.

I see he wants to ask immigrants specific questions about their views on honor killings, gays and radical Islam. Two of those are relevant questions, imo, but why gays?

I see he wants to suspend all immigration from certain countries, Libya and Syria specifically, yet that list is likely a long one, such as Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, Russia, etc. I doubt that all people in those countries are horrible.

I see he only wants highly skilled immigrants to be allowed access. Or, as in the case of two of his wives, woman who would be willing to have sex with him for personal gain. So much for the American credo of "give me your tired, your poor," etc.

I see he wants to build a wall that many border cities do not want (ask Texas about it), and in many places would be an incredible engineering feat, at much expense, especially afterwards, considering the manpower necessary to patrol, detain, prosecute and transfer anyone caught to their country of origin. How does he intend to pay for all of that?

You might think Trump's plan is a great idea, but have you truly considered all the relevant aspects of it? Above is merely a rather cursory summary of the details necessary to actually accomplish his plan. I don't find his plan to be as feasible as you do, not after considering the basic aspects of implementing it.

Violent is right . . . hysterically so, from what I've seen in video clips.

They'd likely be freed here in the States in fairly short order. Far better to deport them and deny them reentry with a criminal past.

Why gays? Because radical Islamists have claimed that they are religion-bound to kill off homosexuals.

Of course not, but he's trying to shut down immigration pipelines that can easily be exploited by terrorists until we have a far better screening process in place.

Half-seriously, I think we'd be better off with a border canal . . . we can throw New Orleans all of the excavated soil to raise up the city, stop leasing the Panama canal, and end up with a strong deterrent to border crossing, especially if stocked with alligators.

Correct. I don't believe she's held a press conference since December of last year or something like that.

Nope she hasn't. There is an old political saying. If your opponent has a bad case of foot-in-mouth, let them do all the talking.

    FactChecking Trump on Immigration
As he explains his plan on illegal immigration, Trump gets several facts wrong.

    Summary
Over the past week, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has twisted the facts on illegal immigration, and the plans of his opponent, Hillary Clinton, as he struggled to explain what he would do with the estimated 11 million people who are living in the U.S. illegally.

    • Trump was wrong in saying that “using the existing laws, millions of people are deported every year.” The peak for removals based on deportation orders dating to 1892 was 435,498 in fiscal 2013.
    • Trump wrongly said “nearly 200,000 illegal immigrants” booked into Texas jails “were responsible for more than half a million criminal offenses.” State data show 130,000 were arrested over a five-year period, and their convictions, over their lifetimes, totaled 157,000.
    • Trump said that “nobody even knows” if there are 11 million immigrants in the country illegally, adding that the number could be 30 million or 5 million. But several independent estimates agree on the 11 million number, and experts say it’s impossible for the number to be as high, or as low, as Trump says.
    • Trump exaggerated when he said Clinton will “close down detention centers for border crossings, meaning she will have an open southern border that will bring … crime and destruction.” Clinton has said she would replace privately run centers with government-run facilities.
    • Trump claimed Clinton’s immigration plan “would functionally end enforcement of visa overstay rules — another open border decree.” But her plan does not address visa overstays. To the contrary, Clinton supported a 2013 Senate bill that included a provision to create a new system to track, locate and remove visa overstays.
    • New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a Trump supporter, falsely said that “everybody … whether you’ve been a criminal or not” would become “American citizens” under Clinton’s plan. In fact, Clinton has specifically said she would deport “violent” or “dangerous” criminals, “terrorists” and “anyone who threatens our safety.”
