http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cenk-uygur/the-center-right-myth_b_144074.html Such a fair and balanced site. Anybody willing to sprout a pair and describe in this thread what exactly the "Democratic direction" means as stated in this article? Exactly what does it mean, and why those reasons are good? I'm drawing a blank so somebody who would support this site must know exactly what it's talking about. Thanks! P.S. Listed in bulleted form would be fine!
Why do you even go and look for these articles? You give credibilty to such tripe by reading it and bringing to this site. Youre a conservative; I'm a conservative. But I dont need jagovs like Hannity or Limbaugh to tell me whats right and wrong. Nor do I try to find dumb-butt things so I can be sarcastic. What a retard.
It came from this Young Turks vid. Young Turks are ultra cool. Watch the video, it will make it clear.
That guy is an idiot and the show sucks. The argument in that video is the most foolish I've seen in a while and I now regret wasting my time watching it. When was the last time the country actually had a chance to vote center right!!!?!?! Bush II doesn't count. If you think that's right, you'll be in for a rude awakening when we actually do get the real thing in there again, after 4 long years of Obama. McCain center right?? LOL! Again, nobody HAD a chance to vote for it. What choice were they given? You're gonna conclude a result from this? Obama DID NOT have a landslide victory. The electoral college votes may look like that but the popular vote did not tell us that. Assuming individual people matter anymore. We will never know how many votes the republican party could have had, with a better candidate. We will never know how many phony votes the democrats got in there. We will never know how many idiots voted for Obama ONLY because he's black, they think he's going to give them money, or because it was a popular thing to do according to the rest of the herd. Or how many people were just simply voting against the republicans. Guess what!!? This doesn't say a whole hell of a lot for your guy!! If you guys want to brag about a win like this, go for it. I'm not surprised you have fun watching it. By the way folks...... *original post ignored*. Nobody wants to touch that topic. LOL!!
I ignored the article because I try to ignore huffington post. I had never actually heard of that site until I came here. And, after I wandered around it and read some articles...wow, there are some real nut jobs writing articles for that blog. It makes this place look like a bastion of reason and moderation.
Ok here is the break down: All of the most populated states are left to hard left except Texas which is center right. CA, IL, NY, and PA as well as ALL of New England are all hard left That is ALMOST than half of the country! Pretty much half the country are HARD LEFT. FL,OH, VA, are center left The only hard right states are tiny states like ID and WY, which are Tim McViegh types with compounds, guns and David Koresch type religions (right wing posters on this forum are in this category), they comprise about 2% of the population. Then you have the South, but only about half of the south (AL, AB, MS), and part of Appalachia. NC, VA, and FL are southern states that are swinging left. NV, NM, CO WA, and OR are left to hard left, the only mountain west states that trend right are UT (which are part of the wacko ID, WY group) and AZ, which is in reality pretty much in the center (we have a Dem gov). MN, WS, and MI are clearly hard left to center left. Indy in center to center right America is between hard left to center left on the whole with about 2% on the extreme right and 35% on the extreme left.
Why did you watch it, retard? you are the one that posted this in the 1st place. Yer so retarded. Commenting on an article you posted so you can read other comments. Thats retarded.
Craig, you're so blatantly juvenile, you're not even worth taking seriously anymore. Retard must be your favorite word now, huh? I thought it was great too. Back in grade school. You've been reduced to name calling in order to prove points, unknown. Pathetic. So Danr, do you believe CA, IL, and NY are our exemplary states? Those that which the entire country should be modeled after? If so, I suggest you do a little investigating and realize just how F'd up these states are. I live in IL so I'll give you first hand knowledge.
You giving first hand knowledge? Is that what you call jotting down notes from Fox News shows? From your posts, it would seem you wouldnt know first hand knowledge from centerfield. And gee I cant seem to think of something else to call a retard. Perhaps if you werent...nah.
I am not commenting on the condition of these states, I am stating that America is not a center right country, it is between center left and hard left. I am using these states to show that huge portions of the population are hard left.
Let's see...CA, IL & NY? CA, the home of fruits & nuts, is basically a fantasyland so it isn't surprising that it would go liberal. IL is corrupt so it isn't surprising it would go liberal...unions, vote buying, etc. NY is, well NY. Home of the most elite of the elitists so once again, liberal. The fact is, based on an NPR report, over 70% of voters in this years Presidential race identify with conversative views rather than liberal views. They chose Obama over McCain based on personality & race, no doubt about it. Several news agencies & tv shows have done "man on the street" interviews. When a conservative stance was attributed to Obama, it was overwhelmingly supported by folks who called themselves liberal & admitted to being Obama supporters. And vice versa, liberal stances were opposed when they attributed them to McCain and the exact same people were quizzed. Howard Stern even did a report from an Obama rally where Obama supporters were asked about Obama's choice of Sarah Palin as VP...several people thought he made a good selection . They were also asked about Obama's plans to invade some of our allies and keep troops in Iraq for 100 years...overwhelming support!! Anybody who believes this "mandate" was anything more than a victory of getting the right people to the polls is fooling themselves.
Hey, this has to be one of the deepest, most well thought out and informative posts I have ever read.........NOT!!!!
How clever. Love the 80's phrase at the end. Your so contemporary. You and that other retard should start a club.
Personally, I wouldn't judge a whole lot from a Presidential election in this economy and in the middle of two wars and one that was based upon personality more than issues. Obama is certainly hard left but I'd have to go back to Jimmy Carter to find anyone who even veered left of center. Clinton was probably more conservative than Bush.
Great post Stu. And thanks for being another person stating the obvious. But Danr hates reality. Can you add a little fluff next time?
No link is needed. There was a liberal vs conservative litmus test. Gay marraige was on the ballot in 30 states. What was the result in all 30 states?
I could be wrong but I think only AZ and CA had it on the ballot. The Mormon church put huge $ and got church members all fired up about it so both banned gay marriage (there is a very serious movement to revoke tax exempt status from the LDS church because of this political activity.)
