How much do you think Obama knew?

Very nice thought but I am afraid that reality has a way of upsetting those nice thoughts, unfortunatly man is a competative creature and as such someone allways wants to be leader of the pack and someone else will take exception to that, then if they are powerful enough you have a war. A rather simplistic example I know but never the less quite a good one.
Personaly I would love to see peace and freedom from opression and illness and hunger but I have seen too much of the world and the people in it to believe that the election of any one person can bring about such changes, please also do remember that he intends to continue the war in Afghanistan till the Taliban and Al Quaida is defeated.

Is that all? Obama should have that done in his first week.

Stop interjecting reality into the discussion! It is not helpful in the least!

By starting a proposal of peace and acceptance among the nations of the world.

"My good friends, this is the second time in our history that there has come back from Germany to Downing Street peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And now I recommend you to go home and sleep quietly in your beds." - Neville Chamberlain after signing the Munich Agreement with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler.

If only it were that simple.

The fact that he hasn't done this is just one more reason for his impending impeachment wouldn't you say?;)

I believe world peace is possible if we follow my principles previously mentioned, as well as making satanism illegal to practice., and before you bash me on that one, go read all of my posts in the thread called "the collapse of atheism". Thank you.

    Well Isaiah,

For starters I don't believe I really bashed you on the other thread. What I DID do was point out your conflicting statements and I'm afraid you're doing it again.

Religious freedom can not include making any one practice illegal for starters.

Don't take this offensively as it's not meant to be. World peace would be a great thing but realistically it's not going to happen. That's the bottom line.

Religion is a major reason unfortunately. Freedom of religion is great but the various ways in which religions are interpreted make it dangerous.
Religion has been at the root of countless wars.

We can not "ban" any type of religious thought. All that accomplishes is driving it underground. This has happened many times in history.

People will interpret, people will worship and people will fight because of it. Unfortunate but true.

You honestly don't have a leg to stand on in this forum. You have shown you have absolutely no clue how the world works.

If your statement here was even feasible, it couldn't work! Because the World is full of uncivilized, 3rd world countries that are not even run by a government to negotiate with!!!

You think Obama can do a damn thing about the Arab World? Do you think he can walk out into the Congo in Africa and talk to a couple rebel leaders and bring peace?? LOL!! We all live a sheltered life living in the states. Most people here only get brief glimpses of what the World is like in movies.

We still have many countries that are not civilized, not run by a government, women have no rights, and human lives are worthless. Greed and power will have a strangle hold on this world until it mercifully doesn't exist anymore.

All Obama supporters are is a bunch of dreamers who envision him to be whatever they want him to be because he's a clean slate with no record of doing anything. (Except of course having more associations with the corrupt than anybody I can think of...) Everybody thinks Obama will achieve whatever their hopes and dreams are but they really have no clue about him or what he is and isn't capable of doing.

Oh,"he'll magically turn the economy around with the wave of his magic wand (and another stimulus package (coming from more printed Monopoly money that doesn't exist)." " He'll bring peace and stability. The World will love us again."
I'm getting sick of hearing the B.S.

And your blood thirsty, Nixon wannabe called John MCcaine could do any better? I seriously doubt that.

No one is saying he could have but to expect Obama to somehow cure the ills of the world is shall we say naive at best. What Vess says has a great deal of truth attached to it, how is he to deal with shall we say Mugabi in Zimbabwe or the problems in the Congo, who does he talk to for starters, then how about Israil and Gazza??

I can;t believe all you people who believe World Peace is a pipe dream. Does no one but me understand that World Peace began over 90 years ago when the War to end all War came to an end and the world formed the League of Nations to guarantee everlasting peace? ;)

World peace exists in our minds, and as soon as that dream and ideal manifests itself into reality we will have peace and happiness, which became much more likely to succeed the very second we found out Obama won. We will have world peace. My dream will be a reality.
