So you agree in substance but you don't care for my word choices? That's sorta typical of the liberal mindset isn't it?
Who cares about touchy-feely word choices...we have to fix the problem!

I do, but the financial aspect is important to you, not to me.

I'm not, but your motives are more complicated than a few words can express. One of them is the taxes you pay, you feel these people (myself included) do not pay a "fair share". Another is government spending, the allocation of resources you spoke of. You may or may not have said you are for reduced funding, but you cannot say it isn't one of the goals you'd like to see achieved, it's a result of a successful implementation of the program, less money spent in the program.

Your belief is best stated in your final sentence above, a hatred for liberals drives them. If you can manage to distance yourself from the political aspects, and looked at individual lives, you'd understand where I'm coming from easier.

This never gets old for you, does it? Moen/Joe is someone who enjoys this stupidity, but both of you seem to enjoy it. For me, it's just old...a tired, overused phrase. Lazy, really.

The standard @#$% reply on this site is obviously "None?", but so much else is worthy of being spoken about insults than that. The first may be how you see yourself as the victim, true or not is irrelevant. Another is that you were comfortably insulting people (Moen specifically) long before I came here, and he felt likewise, I'm sure. Another is who insulted who first, when and how is probably long forgotten. The pot calling the kettle a @#$% is another one. All are really pointless. The point of my post (to myself anyway) was to see if you could admit you do, and you have. Thank you.

That depends on a few things. We don't have to like each other here to have straightforward discussions, but we do have to have a semblance of mutual respect, a toleration of each others views. We don't have that now, and it's unlikely to occur in the future. That doesn't mean we can't discuss things here though, it just means we can't discuss things as two grown men should.

Poverty is a monetary issue, but it is more a social one (as you indicated). I mentioned earlier that (if I were in charge) I would look at existing programs first. Only with a thorough understanding of the program (and it's results) will I then go further, otherwise I could cause more harm than good.

Breaking the cycle is possible for some, but never for all, not without the use of force. What you consider "right" is fine for about half the people in America, but the other half disagrees. So, who is right? What is right? Who decides? Do we force people to behave one way, against their will? Is that truly good for America? Freedom will lose almost all of it's luster if a majority of people in America ever agree to give it up for the betterment of the country.

Word choice was one of three reasons I mentioned, though there are certainly more. I also mentioned your past behavior, which is reflected in your choice of words.

But, of course, word choice can initiate an argument...and I can't seriously see you argue the issue more than what you already have lol

I'll assume then that you agree our past behaviors influence how people view us (including arguing with), and that was the point.

You change the hearts & minds one person at a time. My Dad once told me the real measure of a man is determined by the kids he raises and that has stuck with me for years. Any time I have been in a counseling, mentoring or advisory situation I have always encouraged people, whatever they do, to make sure the kids turn out okay.
