We are about to get 1 to 2 feet of snow dumped on us up here in the great white north. That should pretty much shut down Chicago for a day or two. For any of you in the path of this snow storm, stay warm and tune up the shovel. It's gonna git deep. And Jack, I don't want to hear anything about the weather in Arizona today! : 0

We are built for this kind of thing. It might take a day or two to dig out completely but most people look forward to a good snow storm because they get to stay home and drink cocoa. LOL!

    Everyone be safe.
I'm in the 2 feet plus predicted area. Added bonus is lake affect snow.

David if you're on how's it at your end? Heard there's a lot of ice in the southern part of the state. Worse than snow.

OKC set their record for the most snow ever in a day as did Tulsa. We had 11.8". Don't know how they measured that in 50 MPH winds.

Right now it's about 45 degrees and raining, they say we're going to miss the nasty stuff but it is all around us. My buddy in IL, less than 50 miles away, already has 3 inches of ice at his place. I think Indy is shut down...we had a conference call scheduled with some folks in Indy but none of them even made it into their office today.

Thankfully, the ice line was about 45 miles to our north and stayed there all day. Only rain so far. Where we used to live...about 2 hours north, got tons of ice. They were predicting 1.5 inches of ice. And where I grew up...about 6 hours north of here, was supposed to get a foot or so of snow. I don;t mind the snow but the ice...that is bad.

Believe it or not, we here in Phoenix are expecting lows in the low 20's for the next 2 nights. I had to go to my wifes house today and cover all the bushes and flowers !!

Stay safe all of you, and make sure you have plenty of food stocked up. when I lived in Detroit, when it got super cold we always left a cpl sinks on drip so the outdoor water pipe would not freeze.

The snow has started here as well in Iowa and it really blows. Literally. I hate it and can not wait for this storm to be over.

I can see what looks like snow tornadoes coming down the street and I can hear thunder. Thunder snow! Cool! The gusts have to be at least 60 mph. What a sight!

    It's Snowmageddon! An Icepocalypse!

I was actually hoping for some thunder snow but no dice. I've seen it once before.

I have shoveled the sidwalks twice and my wife once. I'll go out one more time before bed. Last time I went out the snow plow had gone by so I decided to run the van up and down the driveway to create a "path". Figured why not take a spin around the block?
Only one idiot on the streets and it was me LOL. Roads drifted over and low visibility but made it home. Big time snow.

We'll see how it pans out in the morining. 10-15 more inches predicted for tonight at this point.

Kinda makes you want to root for global warning, doesn't it?

Silly boy! This is the result of global warming.

Hey! Why not? He probably has as much meteorology training as the average global warming proponent.

Oh, now I see...frigid temps and record snowfalls are proof that global warming exists. I get it now.
So does the flooding in Australia indicate a drought?
