When Iraq was invaded based on what ever reason you believe, it left an Army out of work. Now an priliminary agreement on oil shareing revenue could be a start for the people of Iraq. As you all probably know Iraq in past times was three countries. All three groups have agreed to priliminary oil sharing revenues. The Kurds have their space . It would be up to the Sunni and ****e to either live in the same space and get along ,or each take their own agreed upon turf. If this were to happen, it would make any trouble makers stand out immediately. This on the surface appears to be a bold move that could service the needs of many interested factions. We do not expext true democracy fom tribal unions . It would be a HUGE push in a direction that would benifit Iraq and possibly take Iran in another direction. Money and Power in that order seem to resolve many disputes and can lead to dialog. I would consider this a positive step. It will still not be easy but cash flow could be enhanced and the Iraqi people could do much of the rebuilding creating a new social structure.
No Biden did not have the agreed lanuage or permission to proceed at the time. Maybe another plan posted that has more validity would be embraced by all.
I think the Kurds have done everything right...they just live and let live on the whole. They are not causing any problems to speak of...They should get their own nations and we should protect them and let the shiites and sunnis kill each other off. One thing you can say about saddam is he knew how to keep the peace...he was brutal but no more or less than what we are seeing from the shiites and sunnis now (or a hundred other crap holes around the world)...the Kurds on the other hand have truly benefited with an end to persecution and in thanks they have caused no problems...they get over looked...they deserve our support. There is hardly even a need for soldiers to be post there...I applaud them.
