She just wanted to go to florida. You mean like that kind of no proof? Or do you mean Midas telling us all how Gen. Pershing handled the muslim problem with some fabricated story of pigs blood and sausage links? Is that the Midas youre speaking for?

Fact: The Musllim girl who converted to Christianity had ever right to fear for her life as muslim "honor" killings are very much common throughout the world. She is now considered an apostrate and the islamic religion is very clear how apostrates are to be handled. When muslims love their faith more than their family, killings (i.e. beheadings) are the call to action. I have cited case after case where these muslim actions have occured.

Fact: Even Democrat Senator Bob Graham cited Pershing's actions that dealt with dealing with muslim terrorists.

I imagine a number of you have been waiting for me to post. The problem with trying to argue for or against the existence of God is one philosophers and theologians have acknowledged for some time. The issue comes from presuppositions. The faithful know - KNOW - there is a God, and argue from that point (point A). The athiests know - KNOW - there is no God, and argue from that perspective (point 1). Because they're starting from different points, they can't understand the other's argument. Until one is open to the other side, you can't convince one way or the other. I've been convinced (as my signature line indicates) as to the existence of God. Awozny has been convinced as to God's non-existence.

God is the creator of all things.

What made me BELIEVE? I felt the presence of an evil spirit, possibly SATAN the liar himself. It was very scary, my room smelled of DEATH. Of course , I commanded the evil spirit to leave in Christs name, and no more spirits.

If you gave yourself up to GOD ( christian God) not Jesuit, Islamic, or any of that other nonsense ( false prophets), you would find out the real truth. The Catholic church is becoming one of the False Religions.

My point is, if you dont believe and trust in God, He doesnt believe in you. Not everybody will go to heaven. HELL needs people to. So keep believing in these false prophets, false religions, and you Atheists, your days are numbered so that you will never have a chance to repent and BELIEVE in him.

The simplest answer to the OP is mostly likely the correct answer. Habitus! In other words, believing is simply the result of centuries of habit and repetition. The vast majority of those years, mankind was a very superstitious lot that attributed all the things in their world that they couldn’t understand or explain to some mystical being because it was all they could comprehend. As we began to explain our world during “The Enlightenment” period in Europe (not necessarily in the Middle East or in other regions that were already in some stage of their own enlightenments) religion which had dominated for centuries pushed back on anyone that threatened their authority. Science was a new threat to their grip on power because it was able to explain our place in the universe which the church had previously incorrectly asserted and our place in this world apart from what the church had taught.
Science was not brought about to do away with religion but many of the truths that we take for granted today were heresy when they were originally proposed because the provable became the enemy of the supernatural. If you’re going to worship a supernatural being, you might as well worship the Gods of Olympus because there is as much proof or even faith in their existence as there is for the God of Abraham or any other deity you can think of. Religions come and go and they all believe that they are the one and only answer. History is full of people that couldn’t be convinced that their beliefs were just one more stab in the dark and they and their beliefs are all but extinct as will be the current beliefs. The only belief that is real is the one that they all yearn for and that is the end of the world so that they can be with their imaginary friend for all eternity. We’ve never had the power to make that a reality until modern times and you just have to know some nut will make it happen eventually.

 

Same is true for science, big guy. Used to be scientists believed that everything was made of four elements - earth, air, fire, and water. Or if you would prefer more recently, global cooling was the certainty (i.e. belief) of science.

It does not say " all life began on earth", as you are insisting. What you have misunderstood is the fact that these verses are talking about the earth, & its creations, It does however, state that the universe is "infinite" or forever. And there is life on other planets, as science has already proven. Your gonna tell me that out of the infinite universe & millions of planets, that only earth has life? Wrong again. Where do you get your information and quotes thereof? Sounds like you have been brainwashed by the same institutions where you get your quotes and information. When it comes to faith...faith must always be based on the fact of a 'first see-er' or 'first contact' that is telling the truth.
We do not come up with ideas to base faith on all on our own. All religious faith is based on someone else's reports. If this persons report is based on lies, than the faith must evaporate.

Yahweh directed them specifically with how to design and build things, how to worship him through burnt offerings and penance and who to murder. God instructed them to discriminate against the handicapped. God was very detailed with his directions about unclean women during menses and how the Hebrews should keep their slaves. And of course, the constant orders to kill, kill, kill...from killing one's children to killing homosexuals to killing the parents of young virgins so the religious devotees could round up a harem of sex slaves. Here is the thing about Jesus. Throughout history NO ONE that ever wrote about Jesus ever met Jesus. Jesus started with Paul's visualization or dream of Jesus decades after Jesus' life and death and it all mushroomed from there. EVERYONE that wrote about Jesus did so conveniently decades after his supposed life and death. Most Christians think the gospels were written by the disciples or men that met Jesus...FALSE! Jesus born of December 25? FALSE! Just a fantasy they Christians came up with in the 4th century to steal the solstice holiday away from the pagans. Trinity? People always ask me to pray for this or that from god. Going back to godfinder, I always wonder which of the 5756 gods they want me to pray to? But all joking aside. What does it say about a perfect god that is all knowing and all loving that needs to have his / her / its mind changed by an imperfect human groveling enough? A god that takes delight in torturing its creation until enough begging has been done?

And in the big picture...what would make us think we know better than the perfect god running things? Why would we wish to change perfection? Yet we cling to the notion of prayer as it makes us feel like we have power.

A proper atheist does not believe in gods or anything supernatural and unproven. No karma, no soul, no nothing they can't get a grip on, feel, see, touch or taste.

If we look at what was written about Yahweh, we can determine it does not add up and Yahweh is a myth and Jesus too. And even if Yahweh was for real - who would want to worship such a hateful and evil god as that?

But we humans do not know everything under the sun. We may have a soul or some other supernatural aspect we know nothing about. There may be some aspect of intelligent design. Aliens may have dropped of a pair of us eons ago and it all blossomed from there...who knows?

There is also that burning question of why humans are so different from all other species? Sure we can pin it on evo, but what singled our species out for it? That is why I am an agnostic...just don't have the answers to all the questions.

But there is no proof for any of these theories, other than wishful thinking / speculation. And if push comes to shove...I side with the atheists for being right.

 

Just one slight point here, I thought that Jesus in the Christion faith was the son of god born to man and not "A God" and that the muslims believe he was simply a man (prophet) not the son of god.
