Exactly...,you made my point. You have no rational, logic, and common sense in your arguments.

    It is all Blah-Blah

"Third:...I am so glad Truman had the guts to nuke Japan...even after we warned them time and time again. Truman knew that over a million U.S. casualities would have taken place if we did a mainland invasion of Japan. Unfortunately, there are not that many WWII vets left to set you straight, so I was be more than happy to do it for them. I don't know how many WWII vets stated that the dropping of those two bombs most likely saved their lives! BTW...Japan is now a better place after WWII and what did we ask for after we won??? Hardly anything! And to the victors goes the spoils, but think about it?? What were OUR spoils??"

Interestingly, later releases of documents showed that Japan was trying to surrender to Truman in June and July, 1944. Their only condition was that the emperor should remain on the throne. Truman insisted that surrender be unconditional. Then, after the unconditional surrender, we permitted the emperor to stay in power anyway. So the bombs may have been dropped unnecessarily, and may Japanese citizens and US servicemen died unnecessarily because of Truman's ineptness.

Well...tell that to the families of American serviceman who were fighting against an enemy who had no concept of surrender and dying in battle was honorable! Don't worry....keep your sons fighting because these fanatics are negotiating with us. Remember...the Japanese only surrendered after the Emperor made his first radio broadcast. To these people, the Japanese believed that their emperor was a living God. Once that broadcast was aired, was when the Japanese surrendered...unconditionally. Only then!

Meanwhile the Japanese military has no intention of surrendering and tried to stop the radio broadcast. And this was DAYS after the dropping of the A-Bombs.

Gee...sounds exactly like trying to deal with "true" muslims.

Midas, so what you are saying is that history didn't happen because it doesn't fit your belief system? Amazing! Simply amazing! Tell it to the families of the American servicemen who were fighting against an enemy that was trying to end the war honorably [from their point of view]. I hope you get well.

Yes Cloudy, and the hound may have caught the hare, if it hadn't stopped to take a 'rest'! But I don't think so. Remember the Japs were in talking to FDR about peace, when they bombed Pearl Harbor. Truman may have been thinking of those times.

If Clouds and Moen are so concerned about the point of view from our enemy's perspective, why don't they just leave this country and join them.

They may apoliogize for America winning World War II, I shall not.

They may apologize for America fighting against islamic animals, I will never.

Evil wins when good does nothing...you just have to ask which side on you on??

Cloudy, please don't try and sell this to a WWII vet. I will tell you that at the time the bombs were dropped, I had been a POW for exactly three weeks, and this was the best news we got during the entire war. The Japs who were doing the fighting were still attempting to fight, but they had now lost the support of the public. That was the difference. The emperor was an non item about this time. As I remember, it was McArthurs idea to leave him in power to appease the people of Japan, and not Truman.

From their point of view, the only honorable way of endiing the war was to either win, or die. Take your pick, because it didn't make any difference to them.

Old Dan, that might be a possibility, but Japan in 45 was quite a bit weaker than Japan in 41. It was probably more like revenge.

The interesting thing for you to ponder is what would have happened to you if Truman had agreed to end the war in June rather than later.

Let's take a look at the logic here...

"If Clouds and Moen are so concerned about the point of view from our enemy's perspective, why don't they just leave this country and join them."

If you can't see the situation form the enemy's perspective, it is unlikely you will see the next blow before it falls. This is a complete blind spot for you. You can't make a connection between what is happening and our presence in the Middle East. Don't worry about it, you are in good company. Rudy couldn't make the connection between action and reaction either. So just keep thrashing around like a wild man.

"They may apoliogize for America winning World War II, I shall not."

Quote please. This was never said except in your imaginary world.

"They may apologize for America fighting against islamic animals, I will never."

Quote please. This also is from the depths of your imagination. The difference is that I said we should be fighting in Afghanistan and Pakistan where the terrorists actually are, not in Iraq. Here's another thing to consider. I heard over the weekend that about half of the al Qaeda in Iraq came up from Saudi Arabia, our "ally."

"Evil wins when good does nothing...you just have to ask which side on you on??"

So do you. I consider your type the greatest threat to the Republic since the Civil War.

There is an outstanding book that has to be 50 years old that explains Midas perfectly. It was written by Eric Hoffer and it is called, "True Believer". It describes how those that speak in absolutes can only see issues as if part of a larger movement whether they actually are or just imagine they are. They don't have the personal courage to stand up for themselves so they join a larger movement that in many cases fail but because it wasn't about them personally they don't internalize the failure as they would if they tried to accomplish something on their own. They easily move on to the next cause without the danger of experiencing personal failure. They are the true believers.

The select group that Midas defines as Muslim animals have their own true believers. People willing to die for Allah in a heartbeat. Midas is no different from them except that he was born here and can rationalize away the similarities between them and himself. The rest of us see his fanaticism and we see Muslim fanatics, while both sets of fanatics see everything that has anything to do with the other side as completely evil. If you took both groups and put them on opposite sides of a small island and put two coconuts in the middle, they kill each other to the last over two meaningless coconuts even while the trees around them hung heavy with fruit.

The best approach to either of these groups is to ignore them because they thrive in total chaos that the rest of us wouldn't even recognize as human. It's not so much blood lust as it is a feeling that they need to belong to something outside of themselves that is bigger than the smallness they see in themselves. The "I told you so", the constant labeling, the black and white perspective are all undeniable signs of the true believer. The absolute unquenchable full-on requirement to be seen as right is paramount to these individuals. Irrefutable evidence contrary to their stated position can not be absorbed by them because it challenges their very self-worth and that they can not tolerate. So you can try to debate these individuals until you are blue in the face but it is completely pointless. Besides, it's much more fun to play with their heads as they as very predictable.

I can answer this one...Because if everyone that felt like we do left this country there would only be people like you left here and we just couldn't do that to the American sheep population...

OK so I shoudnt realy say this as I am impartial but Moen thats one of the funniest retorts I have read in a while

I do though have a question or two

Midas why should Moen or anyone else have to leave there country because they have a different view of things to you?

Why do you persist in calling these muslim terrorists ' animals' ? they might well be muslims but I dont know of any animal that behaves in the way that they do? Please try to loose some of the vitriol in your rhetoric it put's people off reading what otherwise could be informative posts.

Easy...because if you are more concerned about a terrorist enemy, those that follow "true" islam, and how many are killed over the well being of the United States and their allies, we don't need you.

This would be no differant that if he was supporting, or is more concerened about German Nazis's during World War II than who is fighting them. I use the Nazis's as a parallel to islam because the similarities of these two groups are right on track with each other.

As thousands of US/UK service men were getting slaugheterd during battles like D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge, you didn't see people like moren complain, "Wrong war, wrong place...after all, Japan attacked the U.S. on December 7th, not Germany!"

As for for those that follow "true" islam described as 'animals', I am simply describing the actions and behavior of these people that follow this religion as their prophet intended. I picked up the term many years ago listening to my great uncles describe the horrors of what they witnessed first hand as they liberated one of the Nazi death camps. They said, "These people (the Nazis) were animals...simply animals" and hence forth, if the description fits for how and what "true" muslims do around the world, then 'animals' fits perfectly fine as a description.

Like these muslim animals...I find the description quite accurate:

Hey old buddy, guess I must have forgotten to tell you about the old Angus bull I had shipped out here from Illinois. Well sir, when he got here all he wanted to do is hang aroung the barn. Never going out to do his duty, or paying for his keep in any manner.
Come to find out they sold me a half blind old fella that hadn't serviced a cow in many years. To make a long story short. I took him out into the corral and shot him in the head. Now he is out of his misery and as we will use him for wolf bait, he will at last be doing someone some good.

Ger the picture of what we do with that kind around here?:kewl:

Old Dan, does this mean that you believe in slavery? or that people are property? or that folks who might be blind or disabled should be shot? or that other folks owe you?

Sorry but I could have sworn that you had something in your Constitution about freedom of speech, and by the way there were many who did not want America to go to war with Germany as it stands Hitler prempted everyone and declaired war on the USA 1st, we will sidestep the bit about his sinking the destroyer Reuben James in October 1941. I just find it strange that you refer to the links between Nazi idiology and the muslims in one breath and in the next tell anyone who disagrees with you to leave the country of his birth and calls them a traitor!! very reminisant of Gobles properganda and that used by McCarthy.

Animals do not behave in anything like the fashion you attribute to these terrorists, I agree with you totaly about the resemblence between the Nazi's and these fanatics and have previously shown actual links between the groups.
