You're linking my statement to unions in todays World. My statement was more a fact of life (or lifelessness) than condoning acts of violence during current labor disputes. Then again, if my neighbor was in a union and on strike, and anti-union people came to his home in the middle of the night, lit it on fire, and shot anyone running out of the burning house I'd say I have the responsibility to defend them... after calling the cops lol

If anything, this 'debate' in here really shows the divide between the two sides (Workers -vs- Owners). Some view the workers as the aggitaters, who went on murderous rampages when they didn't get what they wanted. Others view the owners as the problem, that saftey was a non-issue to them (so what if you died in the mine?), and responded with violence when confronted with a strike.

What does being a woman have to do with anything? The Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." So, the Declaration states that all men are created equal. As a society, we should then ask ourselves, "When is man (or a person) actually created"? Some say at the moment of conception, some say at the moment of birth while still others say it's sometime in between. Personally, I believe it's when the fetus is viable outside the womb. What do you believe? If you're looking at this from a theological standpoint, I take it that you're referring to the "endowed by their Creator" line from the Declaration? I think that line is open to interpretation. If you believe in God (or their "Creator") then you believe the right to life is endowed by Him. If you don't believe in God, then you believe the right to life is endowed by the mother and the father (their "Creator" - not just the mother as, the last time I checked, a male was also necessary in order to create a baby). I'll agree 100% with having a doctor present. I can think of no one more qualified to try to save the life of a child than a doctor. If you want to bring your own, that's fine; I presume he's a specialist in pre-natal and post-natal care? A politician's "record" is his previous voting record and his stated political platform. A politician's past is everything that's happened to him and everything he's done up to the current moment. Most people care little for a politician's past as long as he votes the way they want him to. I certainly do. I read the vitriol and anger in his words and know that he meant it. He's never apologized for advocating arson and violence nor do I think he ever will. I wish he would prove me wrong on that count.

What if your neighbor was a non-union employee being attacked by union members for being a scab? Would you feel/act the same way? Also, in an earlier post you stated violence is necessary. I asked if you menat "is" necessary or "was" necessary and you replied "is" necessary which sorta contradicts what you say here.
I don't have much knowledge regarding what prejudices he might harbor so I can't offer an opinion on that. If they bother you as much as they seem to I doubt that I'd have much of a problem with them. But again, I can't really say at this point. As for Socialism, you make it sound like a bad word. I don't know where Moen stands in this regard, but I'm a Socialist in the European/Japanese democratic style.

You're omitting the context. I said violence is necessary under certain circumstances. The context was of people trying to murder other people and remains true in today's World. Both of you failed to look past the word 'violence' and thought I was referring to the labor disputes of today, while simultaneously ignoring the idea of self-defense or defense. You both thought I was advocating violence, that I believed striker's in Wisconsin, or Michigan, or any other state should rise up aginst those that oppose them using violence. That was your mistake, not mine lol (sniffs the air.... smells fear)... but thanks for the idea, maybe I should call for a meeting of the peasants...
