The best bet on the casino floor is a PASS LINE bet backed up with full 5X odds or better. I don't know the exact % but it is less than than the 0.5% edge of perfectly played basic strategy blackjack. IIRC properly played baccarat is just over a 1% house edge. I am not sure why don't want to play against the casino paid poker players. They don't collude and are very easy to read.
HA! Not everyone is so easy to read. Poker is a great game though. I gave up Blackjack cause of those stupid a** shuffle machines.
Joel Robuchon is the best restaurant I have ever had the pleasure to patronize. Better than Daniel (NYC), Jean-Georges (NYC), and Le Cirque (NYC/Vegas). Notice that every restaurant I listed is a French restaurant. Cuisines other than French no matter how good have basically no chance when compared to a 5 star French restaurant. Take a look at this list of places to eat. Forbes Travel Guide: 2010 Five-Star Hotel, Restaurant and Spa Award Winners I don't make it to Vegas as often as I like because I hate to fly (TSA mother-f'ers). I go about once every five years. If you come to Atlantic City, don't go outside and that includes the Boardwalk. As far as the bus pass to anywhere, you have it reversed. Other municipalities in New Jersey are sending their homeless to Atlantic City via bus tickets. The problem is so bad that my casino had to remove all of the benches placed on the exterior of the property. I would come into work and it looked like the vagrants were holding a union meeting. I had on particularly dirty one who decided to move into the basement of the hotel where we park the high end valet cars. His nickname is captain dookie because he would leave steaming piles in the parking spots. No matter how many times we chased him out, he would always come back. The police (ACPD) refused to arrest him because they said they have no where to send the summons. Imagine that logic, they can't charge you with a crime because they have no where to sent the complaint. If you have to choose between Atlantic City and Vegas, there is no choice. The only thing that Atlantic City offers that Vegas does not is the ocean/beach. But if you have ever been to a Jersey beach, you would know that you would rather be at a Vegas pool. Atlantic City has not one 5 star restaurant, no french restaurants, no Cirque de Soleil shows, and the city is very dangerous.
Thanks for the info. I make it to Vegas every few years, but haven't tried Joel Robuchon. It looks pretty pricey, but I'm sure it's well worth it. Sorry to hear about Atlantic City's vagrancy problems. I wish there was a solution for the homeless people instead of just congregating outside the casinos. I've heard the areas outside the casinos can get fairly rough and it's stories like those that keep people away. I've always wanted to walk the Boardwalk, but now I think I'll stay away from that, too. Is it getting any better than it once was?
Not really, the corruption in the Atlantic City local government is rampant and has been for years. They are too busy stealing to solve any problems.
