"Working towards"...so is that to say they have not done anything YET, but will....someday, any day now, or what? I'm asking because I'd like to see any proof of guns being confiscated from an ordinary, law-abiding citizen. I know of a few laws that ban particular weapons, if that helps. I know nukes, missles, grenade launchers etc. are probably off-limits, and I doubt you'd disagree with those restrictions. So, where is the line drawn for you personally? For instance, Joe and I (and others here) agree that some limits to magazine size are acceptable. Do you agree or disagree? Fully automatic weapons have been off-limits to ordinary citizens for some time, I believe. I also believe Joe and I (and others here) don't see that as an unwarranted intrusion in our 2nd Amendment rights, but do you? Most people draw a line somewhere, in regards to what is an acceptable limitation of our 2nd Amendment rights. Where do you draw that line at?
Background checks won't do any good if no one even bother to people hearing voices and such info is not entered into the data base. At present, we have an invalid data base that no one pays any attention to and in some places it is even against the law to enter data. You gotta start somewhere, but it almost sounds like we need to start from scratch.
In typical liberal fashion, their "solution" won't solve anything but it does work toward their ultimate goal of banning all firearms. At the same time they refuse to pursue measures that could work. Why is that?
Name one founding father who does not have blood on his hands. They overthrew their King, more or less, and did so with violent revolution. The second amendment has nothing to with sport shooting or home protection. Its intent and purpose is to provide the citizens of this country a means to overthrow their government, plain and simple. It is a fail safe device should the worst occur. Fortunately they also came up with a system of government which is very good, although at times it may seem slow, at addressing grievances. I have faith that our system of government will continue and fear the day it does not. As to the school shooting problem, you do not cure a disease by dulling the symptoms. Indigenous tribes living deep in the Amazon have a 24% mortality rate for young adult males. Most are killed raiding neighboring villages or fighting over some woman. None of them have guns.
Darn Toot'n! ...so you left-wing varmints better get your spending addiction under control if you know what's good for ya!
Could this be part of what they are leading to? Suspended Student May Be Expelled for Rest of the Year for Playing With Toy Gun…in His Own Yard Sep. 23, 2013 3:40pm Jason Howerton 732 33.5K 75 6 322 A suspended seventh-grade student in Virginia Beach, Va., could be expelled for the rest of the school year for shooting an airsoft gun with a friend in his yard as they waited for the bus to come. Khalid Caraballo, 12, and his friend, Aidan, were suspended for “possession, handling and use of a firearm” because they “shot two other friends who were with them while playing” with the airsoft guns, WAVY-TV reported. Khalid Caraballo (Image source: WAVY-TV) Caraballo answered “no, sir,” when asked if he took the toy gun to the bus stop or to school. “We were in our yard. This had nothing to do with school,” the student said. Caraballo’s mother, Angel, said being punished for “possession, handling and use of a firearm” was “pretty harsh” for a toy that she bought for $25. Tim Clark, Aidan’s father, told the news station that the school neglected to use common sense in the incident that occurred off school property. Comrades, these children have demonstrated behavior counter to the state's mandated PC protocols and may be at risk of becoming independent thinkers, a serious thought crime. Do you not see the deviance of their so called "parents" who have the audacity to speak out against authority. This is a serious situation and must be addressed in the harshest of terms. We have rendition laws meant to deal with home grown terrorist such as these and they should be enacted immediately before the situation gets out of hand. Our security depends on it!!!
How droll. Sensible gun restrictions exist, and you agree to them. Doubt that? Then bring a gun into a bank. Or, amuse me again with your child-like evasions.
That's a start, but what happened there/then? Did federal agents take away guns from law-abiding citizens?
So, your opinion is that gun owners want the government to take away all guns some day in the not-so-distant future? That is paranoia.
But what "you & Joe" and your ilk is after is the abolishment of the 2nd amendment & elimination of firearms in private hands...nothing "sensible" there. I would love to hear some "sensible" suggestions, from the left, that serve to end gun violence but none have been forthcoming. Like I said earlier, the whackos on the left are only in it for their political ideology, they don't care about real solutions.
Yes...during Katrina armed agents went door to door consficating firearms from law abiding citizens. In arizona I AM allowed to carry a gun into a bank.
That's not only a "start", but should be the absolute "end" of gun confiscation. If you thought it couldn't happen, well, think again. It already happened! From wikipedia: Controversy arose over a September 8 city-wide order by New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass to local police, U.S. Army National Guard soldiers, and Deputy U.S. Marshals to confiscate all civilian-held firearms. "No one will be able to be armed," Compass said. "Guns will be taken. Only law enforcement will be allowed to have guns." Seizures were carried out without warrant, and in some cases with excessive force; one instance captured on film involved 58 year old New Orleans resident Patricia Konie. Konie stayed behind, in her well provisioned home, and had an old revolver for protection. A group of police entered the house, and when she refused to surrender her revolver, she was tackled and it was removed by force. Konie's shoulder was fractured, and she was taken into police custody for failing to surrender her firearm.
Ol' fog-of-war moen seems to have disappeared, hasn't he? I guess it's true...if you let a liberal whack-job talk long enough his true agenda will soon be exposed.
How ironic. John Kerry signs a UN treaty which lawmakers claim will lead to gun control measures: View attachment 2002 But at the same time, a huge amount of weapons is stolen right under the nose of the Obama administration: View attachment 2003 It really makes a person wonder who is running this ship.
