New York City has seen the Twin Towers truck bombed in the once underground parking lot by arab muslim terrorists. New York City has seen the Twin Towers taken down by arab hijacked airline jets crashing into them and the whole westside downtown area effected by the shock waves and fallen buildings, New York City has seen a muslim shoot up the Empire State Building Observation Deck, New York City has seen an arab muslim plot to unleash poison gas into the subways uncovered and mass arrests were done inside of the warehouse in Brooklyn where the materials were being put together, New York City has seen the muslim Sudanese UN delegation expelled for they were uncovered trying to plant bombs on New York City bridges and tunnels, New York City has seen bombs being planted near Madison Square Garden train station during the Republican Convention and a muslim arab arrested, New York City has seen muslim arabs arrested for shooting up school kids on a school bus on the brooklyn bridge, New York City has seen muslim arabs arrested for killing Catholic Priests, etc......I could go on but I am sure if you saw an arab muslim kill an entire family except for a 12 year old girl who he was then raping, you would bring him a prayer rug so he could take a break from his "holy mission".
Until one of these attacks actually happen close to home (family, friends) so to speak there are those on this forum who will defend them. Racial profiling? If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck... Its probably a duck. Are all Arab Muslims bad? NO... Lets turn this around for a minute. Lets say as an American you are in (Pick an Arab Country) Americans are blowing up buildings, killing people, causing general mayhem (terrorist activities).. I suppose this Arab country that you, an American Citizen who just happened to be there for a better way of life would look the other way as you took your morning stroll down the street there. Do Americans racially profile. Hate to admit this but yes. I know that when I get on a plane now, I notice who is on the plane with me, never did before and I fly regularly. Friends, Its not a matter of when will the next attack happens, its where is it going to happen?
That's quite an accusation. I've never seen any posting on this forum defending anyone who has attacked and murdered anyone. Can you cite a source for this assertion? Regarding Guiliani, he is totally unqualified to be president based on character and background. He has always operated by trampling on individual rights and instilling fear into people to get his way. This might be unimportant when you are a mayor chasing away squeegie people and changing local zoning laws to shut down a few porn theaters because there are many legal safeguards in place to prevent totalitarianism, but no such controls exist over the president. American can't afford the risk of having this man in high public office.
I think the gist of these powerful words is that fear shouldn't be used by some to scare the public into voting for a Republican candidate. There is much fear in this forum. A lot of scared people screaming about Muslims and taking the side of the fear-mongers. It is interesting that the Democrats have not joined together and pointed out that the Republicans have severely dropped the ball in defending this country while at the reins of power. Republicans would have been blaming Democrats before the second tower fell if the roles were reversed. I never did understand why Bush and Guiliani just got a pass on the responsiblility for the terrorist attacks on their watch. Quite the opposite, they are held as "Heros" for their parts and what did they really do but show up and stand on the rubble and make speeches. Some hereos.
Is that the extent of your college education. Your lack of civil discourse as well as your lexicon needs to be improved upon. Moen, how was Rudy to protect New York City from a jet filled with hateful muslims from saudi arabia from flying into the towers? Cloudsweeper: the G-man is for gay rights and women's right to choose with abortion. How is that trampling on human rights or are you referring to the time he rejected blood money from the Saudi prince or the time he wanted Afarat arrested in NYC for the death of Americans but was halted by the state department? Jim, I think we have people who post here who want a muslim world or for the united states to look bad for then it supports thier support for a political agenda whatever that agenda may be. I just don't want the United States to become another Lebanon or worse to become Turkey, remember it was once a christian empire.
I would like to see these sources as well. Of couse they cant, because they are making it up. Now if he thinks not jumping on the 'all Muslims are evil because I am the arbiter of what a Muslim is' bandwagon...guilty as charged...but anyone who would make such a broad sweeping insulting statement and then admonish someone for not being able to engage in civil discourse is ironic.
Andy, Obviously the choice of a candidate is a matter of opinion. I will never vote for Rudy and hope the GOP can do better in their choice. He was praised by some as a federal prosecutor, but if you check his record, many of his high profile convictions were overturned on appeal. He practically invented the perp walk to promote himself. He didn't accept the offer of aid from the Saudis [maybe because he wouldn't get to keep it and didn't care about others], but he accepted a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II, an act which by itself should disqualify him as a presidential candidate for holding a foreign title of nobility -- many of our founding fathers believed so. The Arafat episode is an indication of his inability to handle foreign policy matters due to his recklessness. He is pro war, pro abortion, and pro Rudy. The man is and has always been a self-serving bully. The former mayor is no more qualified to be president than a butcher is to be a brain surgeon.
I wouldn't expect a Mayor to be able to stop a terrorist attack but he did have 8 years to lobby for better resources, more awareness, and prepare for what happened on 9/11 after the first attack. He did jack. I just think to call him a hero is simply Orwillian. War is peace, work is freedom, and Rudy is a hero of 9/11. Scary what some people will believe. There is a wing of the Republican party that thrives on fear-mongering for political gain. It's just time people call a spade a spade and put an end to this BS tactic. Guiliani seems to be the new fear-mongering poster boy for the Republicans.
why so vague? There are only a few people who post here regularly...who, pray tell, is posting here that wants a muslim world and supports terror? Back up your statement or its simply useless rhetoric not worth reading. We are all big boys here, you can name who you are refering to right? Its certainly not me, I have made it clear I do not support terrorists nor do I relish a country controled by either muslim OR christians. So I am free and clear from your accusations...whew!! Who could you be talking about? These posters here that want to be ruled by islam? and PS: If you werent aware...what is modern day turkey, before it was christian? Was Persian...it was taken by Rome through force...I am sure you are aware of that
If you call into questions anything that isn't the U.S. Administations partyline, you are supporting and rooting for Muslim extremists...So some would have you believe because that is what they hear in their own heads.
I dont know about administration, I think it goes beyond that...I fear (and I could be wrong here) that if you dont hate all muslims (and accept that all of islam is evil and the only true muslim is a terrorist) and dont want christians in charge...then they might be errantly drawing a conclusion that you hate America and love terrorism...That cant be what this guy who wants civil discourse is saying...I mean, how can one have a civil discussion with a person who uses such transparent and dishonest tactics? I cant even call it hyperbole because that would mean there is even a kernel of truth to it. Certainly he is not deliberately and lying about people just to vilify them in a feeble attempt to paint those who do not fall in line with his views seem worse than they are. I am sure he knows that would be obvious to all.
It's not so much a dishonest tactic, as it is just a person that lives absolute ideologies. I think when one believes in the existance of absolute thoughts and ideas, a person quickly comes to the conclusion that if you don't believe as I do, you obviously believe the opposite. You can't argue with someone that thinks this way because they have already decided for you what it is that you think. That's why when you ask for examples of their assertions about others, they can't provide them. This is a common well-used way of thinking for many devoutly religious people. God is this... God is that... You have to accept Jesus... There is no room for compromise or deep consideration because all answers have been provided already. Maybe this is a bit of a tangent but it explains much of the thinking that goes on in this forum and why people assume other's perspectives so easily.
You may be right by assuming he knows no better and isnt doing it on purpose knowing full well what he is doing. If one was a half empty type of person one might very well think he knows exactly what he is doing and he is doing it for far more dubious reasons...I will wait for his examples of people here who have stated they want the US to be muslim, otherwise I can only assume they are just fabricating pro-terrorist sentiments on this forum for whatever reason and that a plea for 'civil' discussion would probably have to start with them admitting to the error of fabrication, extreme hyperbole, or character assassination...you get what you give and how can one take anything said by such a person seriously? You are right though, most of these threads are not started to illicit 'civil' discussion and this assessment is not limited to just the crusaders. Danr is a great example of the other side who starts thread with no wish for a civil give and take...as midas and his so called 'true muslim' hate threads, danr is no different...just different obsessions.
pure bull. I never called for genocide, I am the voice of temperance and reason here in this cesspool of hate.:hammer:
Bone is the same way because he and the others see their "leanings" as being consistant as long as it is theirs and dogmatic rhetoric if it is my leaning. Many threads are posted to make a statement without ever trying to illicit conversation or discourse. It is sometimes enough just to be associated with something someone else has written for public consumption. I have no problem with that since this is an open forum and you can publish your toe nail clipping schedule if you want. I just think that if you are going to post something interesting and thought provoking, you should tell the rest of us what you think and why. If I post an article I like or some other prose, I try to always add a comment to let others know where I stand on the issue. I think the political extremes are not as linear as people preceive them with a Right and Left side. I think the extremes meet on the backside of a circle and are only seperated by a thin partitian. That explains why people like Danr and Midas are so similar yet have wildly differing views on the same issues. By the way, the backside is the dark side. Come into the light guys. Walk towards the light...
This forum is extreme. This forum is a right wing nutjobs wet dream. The fact is that I am mainstream (just not in this extreme environment).
