It's pretty obvious the civilized world will NOT condone stern treatment of POW's, except and only if the prisoners are American. Then the civilized world apparently becomes ignorant and blind and quickly looks the other way. Just imagine what would happen if a Muslim prisoner was tortured, slowely beheaded and mutilated by American captors and the body thrown into the street like garbage for all to see. Think it would make the news?

Can't lower ourselves to their level. Why NOT? It's working for them. Aren't the Muslim captives being portrayed around the world as the poor innocent victims and the EVIL Americans as the dealers of horror and attrocity anyway?

There is no doubt that these people have NO intention of living peacefully and respecting other (infidel) religions. When the koram makes it very CLEAR that infidels need to convert, be enslaved, taxed or KILLED as per the wishes of allah, there really is NO middle ground with these people.

It comes down to kill or be killed with these islamic radicals. Many would rather stick their head in the sand like our village idiot, but I for one will not. For the people that want to reach out and understand these animals, go right ahead! Get on the next train and head to the middle eastso you can "understand" these animals. I'm all for rooting out the enemy and getting those that would do us harm, but I sort of go into testosterone shock every time I read one of these chest-beating, cliché-filled, war pandering diatribes. Then I wonder what it is the poster is getting out of the process. I imagine a feeling of actually doing something is one benefit coupled with a need to validate ones own feelings of patriotism and an almost pathological denial of deep personal insecurities.

I suppose it is a therapeutic process for the poster sitting behind his/her screen unable to participate in the real action and avoiding interpersonal relationships that have always been difficult. I’m generalizing of course and no such person may exist on this forum. An entirely different explanation may exist for the bellicose rhetoric and super-patriotic attitudes commonly expressed in these threads…but, for the life of me, I can’t figure out what that explanation might be. :secret:

That is fine if you are talking only about those who are actively taking up arms and for instance killing Marines. If on the other hand you are filing all Muslims as extremists (like Midas does) then you yourself are an extremist.
