Danr, would you like these "innocent people" living in your house? If so, please contact Gitmo and request that they be shipped to your house, posthaste. Get with the program, man... Each of those ANIMALS in Gitmo would love to kill you and me. They're receiving much better treatment than they deserve.
I'd invite the guy from that linked story over, sure. He is a good guy. BTW that "program" of yours is more unAmerican than Stalin at his worst.
I listened to that program the first time. I listened to it again just now. I have no doubt that there are many prisoners in Gitmo that probably aren't, or weren't of any threat to us here or in their home countries. But, this administration made the decision to make Pakistan an ally in the Afghan war because it wasn’t doable without their help. I think getting rid of a few hundred problems or embarrassments for them was a price the US military was willing to pay. And probably one of the smaller favors they did. Right after 9/11, the administration received carte blanch from the American public to go after those responsible and handled it wonderfully in some ways with the help of a competent military and dismally in many, many others. drop the ball (American, informal)To make a mistake, especially by doing something in a stupid or careless way. Pakistan, until 2001, was on a pretty nasty antagonistic footing with our good buddies the Indians and there was a lot of talk of nuclear war between the two neighbors. Suddenly, we needed the Pakistanis and their help wasn’t exactly free. War is much, much bigger than some 600 guys caged in the tropics. The bigger picture says that the civil rights of the citizens of this country are more important than the civil rights of 600 Middle Eastern men that have never been exposed to those very same rights in their own country especially if it gains us a strategic ally that we desperately need in exactly that part of the Middle East. Friendship comes with a price in this world and this administration has probably shed allies at a faster rate than any other administration in history at a time when we probably need them most. So do I think that there are some innocent people being held as a result of our elected official’s inability to fully adapt to a very cunning enemy? Certainly I do, but keep in mind that this may end up being a minor footnote in the downfall of this country if we are unable to “stomp around” the world a bit and intimidate some fairly blood thirsty religious freaks that just don’t like anything about us. However, keep screaming about the injustices ushered in through this administration because if they are able to set a precedent with these types of human rights abuses, we are the next most likely group that will lose the rights we have long cherished. I’m glad there are people that fill the role of our collective social conscious. We need people to do that just as we need people to fight and die in our wars. It’s too bad that so many of us see these two groups as antithetical to each other’s respective causes. Just further fractionalization of our society I suppose.
Let's see how islamic animals treat the two UNIFORMED American soldiers that were recently captured. Think these American soldiers will receive anything near the same treatment as their fellow muslims are receiving in Cuba? Do you think the muslim world will call for resignations and impeachment proceedings after our soldiers get tortured and beheaded? Good versus evil...ask yourself which side you support?
Update! Two Captured American Soldiers Killed by Islamic Animals. I wish the press would STOP using the term "insurgents" because they should be called for what they really are: ISLAMIC ANIMALS!! Our press is soooooooooooooo afraid to report what islam is, I will NEVER hold back what islam is!! I hope our troops are hunting down and killing as many of these sick animals. After all, if a dog is foaming at the mouth, there is only ONE solution for it...put it down! Meanwhile, the arab world celebrates their small victory against Americans.
Danr's out to change the world... He's the dancing guy in the yellow shirt on the vonage commercial B
Like I said, these are tribal people that live somewhere back in the Dark Ages. We have to adapt our approach to fighting them but we don't have to become them. If we want to occupy the moral higher ground, we can not act as the enemy acts and remain indignant about the way we are treated. You just can't have it both ways. I wish it were as simple as good verses evil but it never is unfortunately. You can not become your enemy without losing who you are. This administration seems to be willing to redefine what America stands for without any regard for long held traditions of fairness and decency. Some redefining is certainly necessary in the face of this new type of enemy but where is the line that separates us from them and when do we cross it? One way to make sure we cross that line is to act on our emotions rather than our intelligence. Our enemy seems to have taken their emotions out of the mix and can destroy and kill with cool, calm, calculating efficiency. Maybe we could emulate them in this respect and do ourselves a favor.
Why is it that the USA gets criticized for doing the same? And in fact, shouldn't it (killing another human being) be done exactly this way?
My God Danr dont you get it yet, you went in there to HELP them so obviously if you kill any of the poor benighted heathens than you are VILLAINS so be a good chap and put your neck on the block as thats what you are meant to do De Orc :kewl:
It's funny(yet sad) what a dope Danr makes himself out to be. And like De Orc said, why isn't he over there letting them chop his head off? CraigG
Our village idiot only knows one place where to stick his head "Please go away mohammad, I have no beef with you...let's sit down and understand one another"
I see the "dead" bodies of the 2 captured American soldiers have been found. I am so glad that the Muslim animals treat their prisoners "so much" better than we do!!! That must be why we never hear anything about the treatment at their prison camps, or should I say basements, dungeons, rooms, holes, etc.

What's wrong with the world today and the way everyone always watches and critisizes everything we do? Is everyone blind to the real picture or does the world just like to constantly attack the US on every issue and turn their blind eyes to everything else. So far the coalition forces have been very careful to prevent innocent deaths in Iraq but every time an innocent is killed by our forces that's all you see and hear for days and weeks, even months afterwards. An insurgent can walk into a market, kill 50 innocent women and children and we may see a 5 minute segment on the news and then it's forgotten. A few U.S. guards patrol some muslims around in their underwear and are persecuted and hunted by the entire world for months and months while the enemy can just mutilate and kill their prisoners after a few short hours and again we get that 5 min. segment on the news. I just go crazy trying to understand what I am seeing and hearing everyday! It is horrible and unforgiving if U.S. held Muslim prisoners are not allowed to pray by group, let loose, etc. but then the world feels it is Ok to just blindly and savagely murder the captives as the Muslims are doing.

No worries. Change and criticism are inevitable.
What's wrong with the world today...
is that our gov't is doing many things in secret that do not represent the values and principles of our nation. For example: listening in on phone calls torture illegal/immoral/unethical war I find it ironic that they pretend to be spreading American values while they really are destroying them at home, the saddest part is that people still trust these traitors.
Good thing we are dealing with filthy diaper-headed monsters that treat their prisoners fairly and humanely! Did I mention they were be-headed? Where are all the peace loving muslim's now, calling that these murderers be brought to justice? Celebrating maybe..... you can bet on it! Ironic part is the person believed responsible for the kidnapping was once a captive, released because he was deemed an un-important figure. Listen to the crying in Cuba America and release more "innocent" captives so they can also spread their humane and civilized treatment upon the world.
