I think these acts qualify. As noted, among others, Willie Dixon is (hopefully) buried here. Anyone besides Jack know who he is/was? Just a nobody blues artist that wrote songs covered by a few rather popular rock bands. Led Zeppelin leaps to mind. Just plain sick.
Willie Dixon was ripped by those English boys Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. He was used heavily in early Zep music including "I Can't quit you babe " " Whole Lotta Love " " You shook me " Those are the most blatant. They also ripped Howlin Wolfs " Killing Floor " and turned it into " The Lemon Song ", all above without attribution or royalties. There are many others but those 4 songs come to mind immeadiatly.
Dont get me started on blues guitarists Clembo, I am as passionate about that as I am Lincoln Cents It is a shame what happened to many of the founders of the genre..... Sonny Boy Williamson Elmore James Howlin Wolf Muddy Waters Robert Johnson ( who's estate was properly treated and paid by Eric Clapton ) We lost some in Katrina, and many more are burried in Chicago, Memphis, Yazoo Mississippi....Even Detroit....John Lee Hooker Wow, sorry for the tangent folks.
