Arizona Jack. Did Obam's MD say that also, or is Danr making that up? I think there is too much government in everything. but thats what I think. I dont need to look for articles of what other people think or say.
We were travelling in the UK a few years ago & my mother had a stroke. We didn't know what her medical problem was but suspected a stroke since it runs in the family. We immediatley wanted to call an ambulance & get her to the ER but the innkeeper said we had to call the doctor assigned to that area first...only the doctor could order up the ambulance & even then she had to go to the local hospital rather than the "Stroke hospital" that was a little further away. The doctor arrived an hour or so later & diagnosed her with jet lag. We explained to the doctor that my mother travels often and this wasn't typical. After a few rounds he "allowed" us to go to the emergency room but we had to arrange our own transportaion (because he still thought it was jet lag). At the hospital, our stroke suspicion was confirmed by another doctor and they immediately performed surgery. Luckily everything turned out okay but if this is an indication of what the process will be when Obama starts regulating healthcare & treatment I would just as soon pass.
Another point: I just returned from a diving trip with 3 buddies, each one a doctor. They are adamantly opposed to Obama Care because they feel like their hands will be tied and the quality & timeliness of care will suffer. They also claim virtually every one of their peers in the healthcare industry is opposed to the plan.
Wouldnt the quality depend upon the doctor? I mean you cannot place the blame of a poor paint job on anyone but the painter. Or is it that those doctors just wont give a crap? Healthcare industry? Nice. Like manufacturing tires. We can only hope that the bill will never pass.
Sorry to hear about your mother David but what the landlord said was BS all you had to do was dial 999 and ask for the ambulance service, she would have been taken to the nearest A&E for assesment and any emergancy treatment then if rerquired moved to a cardiac unit or even taken straight there by air ambulance if the Para medics had deemed it appropriate.
What about simple access to the doctor? Doesn't matter how good the doctor is if Obamacare limits your access to him/her.
But you wrote that your doctor pals said the quality they impart would suffer. Not the time frame of the quality.
Exactly...hard to offer quality care when the doctors aren't seeing the patients or if healthcare is being rationed or if there is loads of red tape to wade through before procedures are approved and on & on & on....
Is he hoodwinking them then ? http://www.americanprinciplesproject.org/blogs/video-barack-obama-on-single-payer-in-2003.html Or shystering us now? http://townhall.com/news/politics-elections/2009/07/01/obama_says_single-payer_not_the_best_option How can you guys trust anything this guy says ?
Here he says how this will destroy private ins: http://www.breitbart.tv/uncovered-v...h-care-plan-will-eliminate-private-insurance/ Now I know some of you want it destroyed. Thats not the point. His deceptions is the point. He gets out and says " if you like your insurance, you can keep it " There , is he lying on the video, or lying when he says you can keep your ins. Do you not mind being lied to ? I don't get it.
What I can not understand is why you are talking about getting rid of the private insurance schemes? this to me dont make sence we have both a state and a private over here and they quite often work very well together. There is room for both and quite often the private sector will take up the slack for the public sector.
If the insurance companies are eliminated then what happens to the thousands of employees they employee? Are they just expendable victims? I'm sure they and their families will be overjoyed with the loss of income and the new healthcare system.
As much as I hate to see anyone lose a job and source of income it happens. Cut and dried. It happens all the time and has been in many industries. Greed is what bites them in the butt in the end. The employees that suffer the most are the ones at the bottom just doing their jobs. I don't want to see private health insurance destroyed but I sure wouldn't mind seeing it cleaned up a bit (a lot actually) in conjunction with better healthcare for every American citizen. Something has to change at some point folks no matter how you may choose to look at it. Call it "I'm entitled" etc. all you want but tee off enough people and it becomes a bigger problem. We've reached that point as a nation.
David, this is what you posted. Thats why I asked you the question why doctors arent seeing any patients. I have not read the bill yet. I figured you have. Is there something in it that states doctors wont be seeing patients?
