Actually, a bigger impact on US/Russo-Communist relations came from the Allied intervention in Russia during the Russian Civil War. We forgot it in the West, but the Soviets never did.

It has been many, many years since I wrote my paper on The Sisson Documents but it really is the gist of my point. There was a lot of truth in them even if they were forged.
What would make it difficult for the Bolsheviks was how this stuff (even if it wasn't true) was being laid down as "gospel" in the NY Times (and other papers I can surmise).

Forged documents were quoted on a daily basis in 1918. Oh the power of the media.

I hate to be the dude that bursts any childs belief in fairys and Santa but the Cottingley photos were long confessed to of being faked.
Minimal research would have shown that.

 

Well I'm 21, and I know the first 4 were faked, but Frances Griffith maintained that the last one was genuine. CUT OUT THE PERSONAL INSULTS

Besides that , lets look at your claim.Firstly you point us to a fairy story , i reply it was long ago confessed to as being faked and you come up with the unlikely scenario that 4 of the 5 pictures are fake but somehow the 5th is genuine.

The astral beings (fairies) did not feel as though they should be seen by the whole of Britain, So Frances Griffith and Elsie Wright had to use paper cutouts, but for the last photo, they had no cutouts to use, so they caught a photo of the fairies themselves.

The great paper shortage of 1917 meant that no paper cut outs were possible , of course they couldnt just reuse one of the other cut outs for reasons unexplained..ok

So rather than disappoint the world the fairys obliged and had thier photos taken..is that it?
