But you're right, there are more intentional shootings than accidental ones such as suicides, murders, "emotionally distressed"ex husbands killing their ex wives and children, women shooting their abusive husbands/boyfriends, mailmen opening fire on their managers, other disgruntled employees shooting their co workers, school kids shooting up their schools.. Small kids getting a hold of it and shooting a playmate ..etc..


More of those intentional shootings than anyone ever using a gun to play Clint Eastwood and save the day by gunning down a gunman opening fire in public place or having to thwart off a perp to save their or their families life.. wouldn't you agree?


Combine those with the accidents and the conclusion is.. People who carry guns are dumbasses.

 

My next door neighbor and my sons best friend (13 years old) was accosted by gun point just the other day and just down the street. They put a gun to his cheek and then stuck it in his ribs for a few bucks and his cell phone.
Yes if I was out walking and saw this I would've shot the son of a bitch!

 

You might be able to stand there and watch a family member or a friend being tormented, robbed or killed but I can't.

 

So there ya are.. if the guy had a gun and tried to play Conan to protect a cell phone and a few bucks him or his son would most likely be dead right now..

You're analogy, like the one about the mall wasn't even relevant to the question. The question wasn't about why they had a gun, it was why go to a dangerous place where you think you might need one, if it isn't necessary.
