Whether they engage in sexual activity or not is their business. Even though you're against what they do in the privacy of their own bedroom, would YOU advocate for them to have the right to marry?
I'm not married, and don't expect to ever get married, and that suits me fine as I don't need marriage the way most people appear to. That doesn't mean I'm against marriage, only that I don't believe in it quite the way most people do. To me, it's society convincing itself to conform to other people's expectations, and I'm far too rebellious to listen to shmucks lol Do I care if gays get married? Yes. I want them to be treated with respect, not condemnation. They should have the same protections and benefits that the typical "normal" marriages (marriages between a man and a woman) have...as well as the hell lol
Little Joe, let me see if I can get this straight (no pun intended). 1. You advocate marriage between same-sex couples. 2. You advocate marriage between same-sex biological siblings. 3. You DON'T advocate that married, same-sex biological siblings engage in sex. So far, are these statements correct?
I've explained my position to my own satisfaction and I have pointed out the fallacy of your assumptions very clearly. If you are dying to ask a question about incest, start another thread. Your interests are just not my interests.
You haven't answered anything. But, you HAVE managed to reinforce the fact that you're a hypocrite. I just find it amazing that you advocate for same-sex marriage, but you're opposed to allowing two same-sex, consenting adults to do what they wish in the privacy of their own bedroom. Your hypocrisy is so thick you could cit it with a knife.
Little Joe, don't you want to discuss the civil liberties and the rights of same-sex biological siblings to marry? I thought you created this thread in order to discuss gay marriage.
Joe, I could care less who gets married to who. That is for the people getting married and the person marrying them. The political discussion taking place is not about that. As Gay's can get Married when they want and to whom they want. It is really about $$. And I do not think that we should create yet another "protected class of person". We continually are seperating out "special" person's and giving them extra benifets in the same of fairness. That is just crazy IMO. So no I see no reason to make it legal for Gay's to marry.
First off, welcome to the forum. Always nice to get a variety of opinions. So you are saying that gay couples CAN marry and have all of the same benfits as straight couples? Isn't it really that we have separated straight couples out and made them a "protected class of persons" rather than the other way around? I don't know what you mean that it is about $$. You did explain what you mean by that. Again, we may not agree on many things but welcome just the same. PS Your two sentences I've highlighted in red seem to contradict each other.
I'd say that it is more about religion than anything else. Social Conservatives To GOP: Maintain Anti-Gay Marriage Stance Or We'll Abandon Republican Party http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/...op-republican-party_n_3060634.html?ref=topbar
Thanks for the welcome Joe. It's nice to meet you. As for my statements. Yes inevitably there should be no marriage by the government at all. Why would they decided who gets married or not. There were plenty of marriages before a Justice of the Peace married people and that brought about common law marriage too which again is just about the $$.
