The price of gas is going up:

Consumer price index jumps on costlier gas - Yahoo! News

When gas prices rose during the Bush years, everyone attacked the president because they thought he was controlling the prices. Well, gas prices are up again! We've just seen the largest increase in prices since June, 2009. Here's what some democrats said in 2008 (probably without taking into account all the factors involved):

THEN-SEN. HILLARY CLINTON: Elect Democrats in November, if you don't like these outrageous gas prices, if you feel that the oil companies have been given a free ride by the president and the vice president, vote for Democrats who will vote for changes in our energy policy.

    NANCY PELOSI:
The price of oil is at the doorstep; $4-plus per gallon for oil is attributed to two oilmen in the White House and their protectors in the United States Senate.

SEN. CHARLES SCHUMER: If George Bush hadn't got his way about this when he first took office, the price would not be $3 a gallon but $2 a gallon, or a $1.80, or $1.50.

THEN-SEN. BARACK OBAMA demanded that the Federal Trade Commission investigate Big Oil for "price manipulation." In 2008, Obama urged the Justice Department "to open an investigation into whether energy traders have been engaged in illegal activities that have helped drive up the price of oil and food."

HILLARY CLINTON and CYNTHIA MCKINNEY were so appalled by the high gasoline prices of $3 a gallon, they called for a windfall profits tax.

MAXINE WATERS said she wanted the government to take over oil companies and nationalize.

    HARRY REID
said gas prices were the nation's top priority.

So, where's the knee-jerk outrage? Well, it doesn't exist because of something called "hypocrisy". How many democrats are talking about the increase in gas prices?

BO has openly stated he believes gas prices should be around the $4/gal mark so allowing them to creep up on us is just part of the left's agenda.

    1. Gas prices are not actually going up.

    2. Those people never said those things.

    3. Stop spewing your vile hate speech in post like these.

In a more serious note...no one thought the oil companies were actually going to be the ones paying for the gulf spill, did they?

We had similar rhetoric a few years back from the then Conservative opposition party and guess what now they are in power prices are still going up LOL but to be fair to them they have promised a commitee to investigate what they can do to help the people :)

Seems to me I can remember someone promising to open lots of oil fields a couple of years ago. Just as a guess (anyone want to bet?), since that time our net accessible reserves have dropped - especially until teh gulf is fully open again.

I think we should invade another middle eastern country. Make up something like, I don't know, Persia has weapons of mass hysteria. Truth be damned and noone really pays too much attention to truth anyway, so.. Maybe gas would go back down. Then again, the markets will fix it so, it's all good.

If the current war is/was about oil, then why pray tell, don't we control it all? Have you ever tried thinking before spewing?

Maybe that's why Obama sent an additional 30,000 troops to fight and possibly die in Afghanistan. Maybe he thinks oil is there. Obama is such a hawk... and owned by the oil companies. I mean, really, just look at him driving around in his Cadillac and flying his plane all over the world. He's swimming in oil.

Maybe enough people inflated their tires properly so BO and his other hypocrite lib buddies have been able to justify their wasteful ways. Afterall, you don't think Al Gore would criss cross the world in private jets & limos if his footprint weren't offset somewhere do you?

Gas prices were averaging $1.81 a gallon at the end of the Bush administration. Now, they're averaging $3.07!

What's the deal, Obama??? I guess the cost of energy is "necessarily skyrocketing".

It's a de facto tax increase courtesy of BO & his 2 year spending spree.

He's gotta pay for it somehow! At least the taxpayers don't have to foot the fuel bill for Pelosi's big plane anymore.

I seem to recall gas prices being on the cusp of $5.00 a gallon at one point during Georgey's tyranny. I guess that was Obama's fault too. But hey, you're only getting what the market forces dictate. "The market" is working its magic. You'd think you'd be happy with the conservative love fest for capitalism and its wonderful repercussions! "The market" will work it all out. Relax!

I hoped for change and a fundamental transformation, but it's the same old crap. Come on, Obama, let's see some change!

The party of no wouldn't like that very much.
