    Here is some good old sane conservative news. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction...

    Fred Thompson is set to announce that Nashville will be the home of his national campaign headquarters, WSMV is reporting. A source close to the campaign planning tells WSMV that that Thompson planned to announce his candidacy on the steps of the historic Fall School Building Tuesday, but Thompson campaign officials deny that Tuesday's announcement is an official run for the White House.
    The source tells WSMV report says that the Thompson campaign has obtained the lease for that building to turn it into a national campaign office.

    I hope he has a platform statement of some sort so I can see what he stands for.

    Would you consider voting for him?

    Probably not (unless his views are way different than what I assume they are). I really like Kucinich, but he can't win, so I guess it is Hillary by default (at least she will bring down gas prices).

    About the only Donkey I can stand is John Edwards. Both the wife and I think he has a snowballs chance in hell but we do like him...

    So far, Obama is the only Democrat I would probably trust as a human being but he is too liberal for me to really consider him as a candidate to vote for.

    On the Republican side, Thompson is very interesting but I need to see more of him.

    Moen1305 Not Republican!

    I'm only bothering with one side of this race, the side that is going to win. After 8 years of Bush, Fred Thompson, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Ronald Reagan resurrected from the dead, are all irrelevant and more accurately just place holders because the Republican party has to run somebody. This country has finally began to moved away from the politics of blind stupidity. Bush has soiled the water beyond usability and continues to do so with support for people he should have cut long ago. Republicans will pay for his behavior fairly or unfairly as it may be.

    Democratic Socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically—to meet public needs, not to make profits for a few. To achieve a more just society, many structures of our government and economy must be radically transformed through greater economic and social democracy so that ordinary Americans can participate in the many decisions that affect our lives.

    Quacking like a duck and looking like a duck. Sounds like communism to me...

    Dennis John Kucinich, Dem Rep. from Ohio. former mayor of Cleavland where he survived a 'recall' vote on his awarding of contracts to his own family, for work that was never completed.
    Kucinich is proposing a plan to address violence in America. he is currently drafting legislation that includes a ban on the purchase, sale, transfer, or possession of handguns by all civilians.

    Melvin G. Holli, in consultation with a panel of experts, placed Kucinich among the ten worst big-city mayors of all time for reasons of temperament and performance in the book, Best and Worst of the Big-City Leaders 1820–1993

    He has since criticized the flag-burning amendment and voted against the impeachment of President Clinton.

    His platform for 2008 includes:

    * Creating a single-payer system of universal health care that provides full coverage for all Americans.
    * The immediate withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq; replacing them with an international security force.
    * Guaranteed quality education for all; including free pre-kindergarten and college for all who want it.
    * Immediate withdrawal from the World Trade Organization (WTO) and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
    * Repealing the USA PATRIOT Act.
    * Fostering a world of international cooperation.
    * Abolishing the death penalty.
    * Environmental renewal and clean energy.
    * Preventing the privatization of social security.
    * Providing full social security benefits at age 65.
    * Creating a cabinet-level "Department of Peace"
    * Ratifying the ABM Treaty and the Kyoto Protocol.
    * Introducing reforms to bring about instant-runoff voting.
    * Protecting a woman's right to choose while decreasing the number of abortions performed in the U.S.
    * Ending the war on drugs.
    * Legalizing same-sex marriage.
    * Creating a balance between workers and corporations.
    * Ending the H1B and L1 Visa Programs
    * Restoring rural communities and family farms.
    * Strengthening gun control.

    I can understand why Danr would favor his person as his next President.

    So apparently you would rather burn the constitution than the flag.
