Far Right Insurrectionist Rally Fizzles

WASHINGTON ― A far-right rally in support of those who attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 fizzled out amid fears that law enforcement might track the extremists who showed up for it.

Members of the media and law enforcement outnumbered the far-right insurrectionist supporters who showed up near the Capitol on Saturday to protest the hundreds of arrests that have been made in connection with the Jan. 6 riot that is linked to the deaths of five people and the injury of more than 140 law enforcement officers.


The organizer for the “Justice for J6” rally, former Donald Trump campaign operative Matt Braynard, had previously said he expected up to 700 people to show up for the rally. Instead, it appeared that fewer than 100 people showed up to protest the arrests of Capitol attackers. The rally wrapped up by about 2 p.m. local time.


Among those who did show up was a man who sang a song about Ashli Babbitt, one of the people who died on Jan. 6 after she was shot by a law enforcement officer when she tried to climb through a broken window to reach lawmakers being shepherded to safety inside the Capitol.

Attendance was sparce at Saturday's rally in Washington, DC backing the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol on January 6th in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election, which was won by Joe Biden.


Capitol Police estimated turnout was only 400 to 450 people.

CNN's Shimon Prokupecz reported live from the scene.

"Some were upset at the former president because they felt that he, by coming out and saying people shouldn't come or they felt he wasn't strong enough in support," he reported. "I did hear from some of those folks who took issue with it, but I didn't hear them changing their opinions or their support of the former president."

"And as much as i just want to make one other point, as much as the organizers said, well, this wasn't political, this wasn't about politics, it really was, in the end. Everywhere you went here, you hear, you see signs about the former president," he added.

Trump was scheduled to spend his day attending a golf tournament in New Jersey.

Have you noticed that the left loves posting incorrect information so they can gloat and claim moral ground while calling us liars? Joe, five people died that were at the capital on Jan 6th. 2 died from coronary failure, 1 of a stroke, and 1 from acute amphetamine exposure. The last one was an unarmed, 110 lbs white woman shot by a black officer. I don’t condone the actions of any individual that was participating at the Capitol that day. Just ask yourself if the roles were reversed in this shooting, what would the public response be?

 

That doesn’t surprise me. I seldom look up and research these things. I just don’t have that kind of time in my life….. But you know what the answer is. They shout BIGOTRY at us from the highest mountains all the while displaying bigotry and hypocrisy on a level that I have never witnessed in my life. After the way this message board blistered Trump for taking out a terrorist with a drone strike yet have been entirely silent about Biden taking out ten civilians with his drone strike…. Oh yeah, this is hypocrisy on a level that makes me wonder how they can sleep nights.

 

How about the endless calls by the left to invoke the 25th amendment? I would love to hear their opinions on ole Joe’s mental health. They demanded Trumps medical exams be made public, I’m sure they will demand the same for their guy.
