Democrats are favored to win the Senate with about an 80% chance. I doubt that there is any chance that the Democrats will lose control of the House. Therefore, Trump can be impeached for any number of things and removed from office once the Democrats control both the Senate and the House. We'll finally have some accountability in government.
If Joe wins and the Dems take the senate, it will be the worst possible scenario this country could face. One party control of all three governing bodies in this insane political climate we live in would be the absolute worst thing that could happen for all of us.
Complete lack of any checks or balances. It’s akin to locking an alcoholic in a liquor store..... All people are different. Your a good man and have firm beliefs that your life is founded upon. I am no different, yet we are polar opposites on the political spectrum. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is exactly that merging of differing perspectives that make our system work. For two centuries our nation has veered a bit left and a bit right... But for the most part has stayed fairly middle of the road. Once that balance is lost, you will see chaos in the streets that will make 2020 look tame. We MUST have balance in our governing bodies.

I generally I agree with you. It's definitely unhealthy no matter what the climate is to have all 3 controlled by 1 party. But, we survived 2016-2018. It'll be okay. I bet Republicans take back the Senate in 2022
Ultimately, our nation is bigger than any egocentric temporary governing body. But given the current political climate, I’ll paint an extreme consequence that plays out in my mind when all three governing bodies are under single party control. Conservative control..... A piecemeal dismantling of our nations social infrastructure. Liberal control.... A dismantling of our basic economic system. Now I present this as an extreme consequence and it is entirely fabricated of course. But think about it. Could you see acid rain and polluted rivers in four years under an uncontested conservative rule? Or could you see people that worked fifty years to earn a nest egg having to relinquish it all in the name of fairness under an uncontested liberal rule? Political leaders have one agenda. Their own. They epitomize egotistical. When they have no check or balance in place to control their actions, we suffer the consequence.
There is no Plan B for the GOP. If Trump is gone, the party is completely adrift. Who really knows what the GOP will become after today. It could return to actual conservatism but that would be minus it's current base of crazies.
