Really? Or are you just naive? Face it, our government makes deals with some pretty bad international folks all the time...Bin Laden, Saddam, Putin, the insurgent groups in Iraq, warlords all over the place. We use them when we can for our own gain and sometimes end up fighting them when it doesn't work out. Hell, sometimes we do both at the same time like we are doing in Iraq right now.

 

And yet we are surprised by the blowback from people that we formally armed to the teeth and now take aim at us. There is a saying for situations like this that has always rang true for me, "Somebody's gittin' rich".

 

It has a lot to do with shortsightedness too, I think. And the whole false concept of 'the enemy of my enemy...'

 

One of the downsides of Capitalism is it's shotsightedness. A buck today is a good enough reason to not think about the consequences of what it cost to earn that buck. There certainly are many positive aspects of Capitalism but in it's true form, it doesn't tend to look too far into the future. It's one part of Captialism that could be adjusted if there was a financial reason to do so.

 

Well it seems we all agree that our country(US), that is to say our government, is run bass ackwards. No matter which party is running it.

Danr, I think it is quite possible that you see conspiracies in your alphabet cereal. If you look at the track record of most conspiracy theories you realize that none of them are ever proven true. Can you name a long held conspiracy theory that was finally set straight? Of course you can't, they don't call them theories for nothin'.
Unless you can add some evidence not manufactured or trumped up, a smoking gun so to speak, you can't convince people of anything except your own craziness. Repeatedly throwing it in people's faces isn't going to get it done believe me.

On the whole 9/11 situation, I think we should have invaded Saudi Arabia and made sure they never forgot the date 9/12. We couldn't do it then because we have too many business interests tied up with the Saudis and Al Qaeda knew this and would love for us to have attacked Saudi Arabia. It was probably step two of their plan but we didn't do it and came at this situation from an albeit stupid direction but a direction that didn't play as much into Al Qaeda's hands. In doing all of this maneuvering, things had to be presented to the public not exactly as they happened. This is the stuff conspiracy theories are made of. I think that there are always things being covered up but usually they are not what you think they are. Fomenting false conspiracies is just part of the deception.

 

Powerful people conspire, it is simply a fact.

Could your response be more nebulous and inexplicit? Let me answer for you; NO, it couldn't. Could you possibly address some of the points I made with a yea or a nay or are you just content to prattle on about things that never were? Doing so would allow the rest of us to distinguish you from that average conspiracy theorist head case. Otherwise you just sound like a broken record with a brand new needle. You started this thread, now handle it.

I think if you read what I posted AND think about for at least a second or two, you'd know exactly what I think about the issue. No regurgitated events are going to add any validity to your arguement. No internet videos are going to convince anyone and no amount of ignoring facts that don't fit into your conspiracy theory are going to help you persuade anyone of anything. Case closed. :hail:
