Not in the Top 1%. lol. If you write down an income of about $350,000 in income on yours or your family's income tax form, you better put on your 1% button.

I have never understood the argument that if Michael Moore has made a lot of money pointing out the greed and stupidity of the Right, why it makes him a hypocrite for succeeding at doing so???? If he were less good at it and made less money doing it would you have more respect for him? I've always applauded him for using his wealth to make others aware of issues that they might not otherwise know about. Then again, how is Romney spending his millions? Is he pointing out how other people are burdened by social inequities? No, he is pretty much just lining his own pockets but people like him of course never get called a hypocrite because he doesn't bother using his millions making people aware of social inequalities that plague the poor and working poor people of this country that would otherwise have no voice.
Interesting, if not self-serving, take on Michael Moore just the same. :(

I have no problem with Michael Moore making millions upon millions of dollars; in fact, I applaud his capitalistic nature. However, if he's going to support people who are protesting the lifestyle in which he surrounds himself as if to make himself appear to be on their same economic level, that's hypocrisy.

Therin your problem lies. You don't understand the hypocrisy of a person on one side making millions and attempting to point out how bad it is for a person on the other side to do the same thing.

Don't forget the big business & Wall Street connection. While the guy is blasting US corporations he is also investing in (and profiting from) them! I don't think the guy has a conscious or a soul. A long time ago he decided he was going to follow the capitalist path & make a fortune, he just decided creating propaganda movies for the far left was the easiest way to accomplish that (easy targets? gullible audeience?). He is guilty of everything his mockumentaries pretend to expose. That he & Roseanne Barr would team up to lead the far left faction of the Flea Party is very appropriate.

That is how the OWS will probably be co-opted and ultimately fail. People like Michael Moore, Kanye West, Roseann Barr, and numerous politicians, et al will go dress down and mix with the protestors, be accepted and then return to their mansions, wash the stink of the common man off themselves, sleep on their thousand dollar sheets and dream about how to continue making money off the backs of the 99%ers while not paying their 'fair share'.

As Warren Buffet and others have said, "Being rich doesn’t preclude you from doing the right thing for your country."

No it doesn't. And it doesn't preclude someone from paying more to the government voluntarily each and every year either...aka 'doing the right thing for their country' aka 'paying their fair share' aka 'being part of the 99%ers'. Do they? I'd bet my '94 Tracer against their luxury cars that very few, if any, do...despite their platitudes to the masses.

"I am not paying my fair share, even though I could, but I am right here to support you guys in wanting to force me to pay my fair share! Don't forget to go to my new movie, watch my TV show, buy my new CD and pick up my new book because it is all about how They are screwing You!"

I think it's simplistic to claim the OWS folks are "protesting a lifestyle" -- ergo, no rich people should support the OWS goals. Lot of rich people support and have marched with OWS and Occupiers everywhere, because they believe that the corruption and greed that underpins the relationships between corporations and government must end. Nothing hypocritical about rich folks supporting that goal.

Yes it is possible to be rich and socially conscious. It is simply those that want to be apologists for the greedy corporations wanting to turn around the good people like Michael Moore do to try and conceal the lack of social consciousness on their part. So what else is new eh? If someone out there is wealthy and doing social good, THEY BAD! If someone is out there lining their pockets by corrupting our political system with boatloads of cash, THEY GOOD!

You don't understand. It is the 99%++'ers. The '++' part being those that don't pay their fair share but, gosh darn it, we like them and they tell us what we want to hear before they go back to not paying their fair share so They are Us.

I've heard Moore say he needs to be taxed more, since he is one of the rich. I don't see that as hypocrisy. Now, that he doesn't give that money to the government without being asked to... that I could see as hypocrisy.

Why in the world should he give the government more money? He earned it, it's his.

Because he recognizes that the country is not doing well and he and his economic class are swimming in cash and can certainly afford to give back to the country that allowed them to get wealthy. I'm sorry, was that an entirely foreign language to you?

Perhaps Moore should do a mockumentary on his own empire & see how much of what he complains about he is also guilty of.

Everything you say is a foreign language to me because it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. How much do you want to tax the people of his "economic class" and just how much cash do you think it will generate? What happens next year when you want to tax them again? How long are you going to keep taxing them? If a person of his appetite can live on, say, $50,000 a year, why not just "tax" him, oh, $10M and be done with it? Even if you tax the richest people $5B extra per year, do you think that's going to help very much? It would take 156.8 years just to get back the $784B Obama Stimulus Package!

You're anti-Capitalist, so I understand your pea-brain way of thinking. If Michael Moore earned his money, he should be able to keep it.

I want to go back to taxing them at the rate Reagan taxed them at, close all the special corporate welfare loopholes, and take back this country from those who think they own it. Because if we stay on the path we have been on for the last 30 years, they will own this country.
