Yes it was a political move. Yes it was grandstanding.
But it was also a response to all of the political grandstanding that the democrat party has been doing.
All we hear from the democrat leadership is how they want us out, how they were tricked into voting us in.
Well they had the chance to vote us out and the vote was four hundred and something to 3 to keep the troops in Iraq.

Once again the donkey is filled with hot air and it is passing wind out of its tail.
But that is because its "leadership" is filled with..........

Not mad, but just pointing out for YOUR benefit the hypocrisy of the Democratic party, and it's leaders as it now stands.

Dang, it's hard to dislike a fella when he says nice things like this. To be honest, you have taken some of my better shots and came back for more. I like that and even consider it to be a good trait. Like you said, there are a bunch of very nice people on this forum and hope it stays that way.
With the exception of one or two individuals who are so dumb thay can't even be insulted, I rather like the majority of all you guys.
Besides, where can you go and have so much fun?

Prominent Democrats and their lackies called this Republican-sponsored vote on the Iraq War a "stunt". I think it was a master-stroke of politics and absolutely necessary.

Unless ridiculous and harmful remarks by opposition politicians are challenged and disavowed by the Congress at-large, our enemies will receive an inaccurate messages. I suspect that for about two days the Iraqi insurgency must have felt they had finally won the war. Congress just gave them some very bad news. This vote was absolutely necessary. Finally, somebody must have starched a few Republican spines.

the military should be an attack dog. you take him off the leash and you let him go and when you are done you call him back and put him back on te leash.
what you cant do is control its every move. otherwise all you have is a show dog.
i dont think the right weny into this with the right mind set and the left didnt want to go in at all.

I agree with you that we are fighting this war as if it is a tea party and the press is covering it as if it is a game and they are the refs looking for fouls and keeping score cards on how many are dead. War sucks. Few people are fans of it but when engaged in war it must be fought as a war. That is one of the main issues I have with Bush. We have a world power military and we are fighting like politically correct policeman. We have air power, use it and bomb the heck out of the Syrian/Iraq border, etc...No need to send in the ground forces when we can make a trouble spot into a spot.

Never mind that I thought we should have gone into Saudi land and Syria as well from the begining with an understanding with China and Russia that their needs will be met as well.
