When the Democratic Gongressmen came out of their meeting with Obama last Thursday, one of them gleefully said that their new slogan was going to be “Make it America.” (or something similar).

I haven’t heard anything about that slogan since then, nor have I been able to find anything using search engines.

I vaguely recall someone saying that it had several meanings, one of which referred to increasing the export of products made in America.

Did anyone else hear the slogan? If so, it could be a clue to future economic policies that could send the price of gold soaring.

    Welcome to the forum !

I have not heard this anywhere. And the price of gold will depend on our fiscal policys, not our exports. The more we intentionally devalue the dollar, the more gold will rise. The last time we had steady gold was under the Clinton administration.

Yes, I agree. That's why I'm wondering if Obama's goal is to increase exports by devaluing the dollar, either by fiat or by increasing the mony supply. He has indicated that he is going to make Detroit and the automobile industry the centerpoint of his reelection campaign. Devaluing the dollar would make American made vehicles more attractive to foreign buyers while also making foreign made vehicles less attractive to Americans. This applies to all American products, including agricultural products, electronics, steel, ships, etc...

"Make it America" is obstensibly simply another meaningless campaign slogan such as "Yes we can." I'm just paranoid enough to suspect that it has substantive meanings also.
