You know what they say; Republicans that didn't learn from their mistakes in 1994 are doomed to repeat them. Last time the Republicans gained a majority, they did exactly the same thing. Investigation after investigation until they found something that would stick. A sex scandle. Big deal. They spend millions investigating everything from white water to Vince Foster and couldn't bring down a single opponent. Here we go again.

 

Really? A sex scandal? It couldn't have been because Clinton lied under oath thereby committing perjury and obstruction of justice which resulted in impeachment by the House? Would you prefer that investigations never be conducted concerning alleged illegal affairs? Be careful, that's a two-edged sword.

But, back to Issa. I'm glad to see someone standing up to the Obama administration's big government agenda. Go Issa!

 

Alleged or real, extra marital affairs are NOT illegal. The only thing Clinton did wrong was try to lie his way out of a seedy act on his part.

Issa has been grandstanding all over the news saying Obama was corrupt and then backing off of that. Then saying that the obama administration was corrupt but unable to name any corruption. Now he wants to hold witch hunts to see if he can dig up anything. I'll tell you how long the American people will put up with that and just like last time, it won't be very long.

That double-edged sword can always swing back to investigate the Bush/Cheney Administration as well. Obama had the poise not to do that when he came into office but the Republicans may force his hand.

All Issa has done so far is send a letter to his business buddies and asked them which government regulations they want attacked. Was the problem with the housing crisis and the oil spill TOO MUCH regulation or not enough?

 

Amazing how anyone can so easily dismiss the bold faced lies Clinton told us. Being a sexual predator is bad enough (one should expect more from the President) but looking into that television camera, with Hillary by his side, and just lying to us about it? He's easily one of the sleaziest figures in our history.

 

He lied under oath thereby committing perjury. I wonder what would happen to you or me had we done the same thing. I apologize for using the word "affairs" in this context. I didn't mean for it to be defined as "an extra-marital affair" as I agree with you that they're not illegal. I meant the word to be defined as "business affairs" or "political affairs". I should have made that clearer for you.

Don't just pooh-pooh the idea. Let's have some oversight and give him a chance to expose any alleged corruption.

And while he's at it maybe he should investigate the Clinton administration, the (first) Bush administration, the Reagan administration, the Carter administration, the Ford administration, the Nixon administration..... I think Obama has more on his plate right now than to do that. Let's focus on the current administration.

For God's sake, give the man a chance to try to expose corruption; he only took over his position today!

 

Let me ask you this; In the 6 years the Republicans held the congress during the Bush administration, how much "oversight" did they do? We had illegal wire taps, we had torture, we had extraordinary renditions, we went to war under a false pretense, and yet the republicans held zero oversight hearings of the Bush administration.

Now we have no specific accusations of any corruption just a general statement that Obama is corrupt. An investigation looks at a specific situation while a witch hunt looks for things to investigate. Issa is a loose cannon looking for a target. Tell me why Obama shouldn't sick the Attorney General on the entire set of allegations against the Bush Administration and turn Cheney over to the Hague.

I guess he should have taken the George Bush approach to 9/11...make sure he didn't answer any questions without the Dick VP right there with him, and not answer any questions under oath. Clinton gets impeached for a b*ow job, and George Bush assists in with 9/11, does his best to cover it up, and he's given a pass amongst the right. No investigations, no nothing.

The difference, you moron, is that the Clinton fiasco is factual. He did lie. He did cheat. He finally admitted it. With Bush, all your accusations are mere fantasy created in your own head.

 

If Eric Holder won't prosecute Black Panthers for voter intimidation, why should he prosecute anything? I don't know why the democrats during the previous two years didn't investigate the Obama administration for continuing to use rendition. Maybe Issa can help expose that.

Are you talking about Clinton's bombing of Yugoslavia? I don't think anywhere near 3000 people were killed during that. But one death was too many IMO.

I think you wouldve felt the same had he told us the truth about his affairs. And of course we have a right to know who the president is stuffing or gagging or whatever you wanted to know about his sexual escapades. A television camera is not a confessional linked directly to God.

That is not what we call an answer. That is what we call a dodge. You can do better. I listed the accusations against Bush/Cheney. Why don't you list the accusations against Obama. BTW Obama halted the practice of renditions that Bush instituted and replaced it with a much more closely monitored model of foreign interrogations. In other words, actual oversight.
Now enough dancing and dodging and lets play an adult for a while. Why didn't the Republicans investigate all the corrupt activities of the Bush/Cheney White House? They investigated the hell out of Clinton and now they want to investigate the hell out of Obama. Why the 8 year break in investigations? If you seriously can't see a witch hunt for what it really is, you are too far gone to take seriously.
