Now, De Orc you know that '08 was the perfect storm for Obama. The Republicans could have resurrected Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, but still wouldn't have been able to defeat Obama. The tide was simply in his favor.

But, 2012 will be a different story. Obama's perfect storm has fizzled to a summer shower.

 

I agree--he was supposed to be the "new face," both politically and racially. He was supposed to bring hope, change, and a bipartisan government. What a shame that he has turned out to be such a disappointment.

 

I am still convinced that the biggest reason he got elected was because the lamestreet media did not bother to actually investigate him. He was their candidate and they want to make sure he was elected. As much as I think the lamestreet media does not usually do their job, they accomplished this one very well.

The only way he managed to do "a super job of deceiving & exploiting people" was because the lamestreet media did absolutely everything to suppress all negatives so much as hinted at. Since many people get all of their news only when they accidentally hit it in the process of switching between American Idol and MTV, they fell in love with the image presented by the lamestreet media.

 

Does anyone know of the story of Biden's wife dying. She died with one of his kids in a traffic accident. He used to tell the story indirectly through the press that his wife was basically killed by a truck driver with a drinking problem. The truth was that the accident occurred because the wife went through a red light. The deeper truth was that it was during a snow storm and anyone who lived in the north knows how you may not see a light or be able to stop in time with snow storm conditions. The horrible truth was that she went out to get a Christmas Tree with all of the kids in a snow storm because her husband basically blew off his family. Biden was just elected to his first term as a senator. He was not in office yet so there was no need to be in DC at that time of year. His senator staff would be in place and his appointments to choice positions would have been payoffs to people who worked his campagin or to donors famly members.
The man blew off his family for he wanted to flaunt in the power of Senator elect. So instead of the story of wife having to go out in a snow storm with kids to get a Christmas Tree and dying with baby while husband partied and rugged elbows with the rich and powerful the story was drunk trunk driver kills.......
Compared to Biden who also got caught reading an English politicans speech as his own while running for President the first time, Obama is a saint.
and that is coming from a person who hates obama.

 

And yet if you re read the posts made on this forum at the time He never stood a chance against any of the main Democratic candidates in the primaries never mind the Republican ones When he got the Nomination he was expected to loose, much was made of his ties to Chicago and certain individuals the story that he was not even American, He was going to decimate the Armed forces because he hated them and America!! The fable that he accused American service personel of Rape and murder and it goes on and on
But he won and won convincingly and here we are again with the same story that he hasn't got a hope. If you continue to underestimate your opponent time and time again you will continue to loose to him. Try taking the man and his machine seriously and you are in with a chance of winning.
He did not as is claimed have the perfect storm what he had was the determination and the political machine to win, stop making excuses and learn from your errors President Obama is a consumate Politician, you might not like the man but he knows how to drum up support

 

And his machine knows how to drum up falsified absentee ballots.

 

You see this is exactly what I am talking about you simply can not admit that the guy and his aparatus are good at what they do. It allways boils down to well he cheats or he lied or he hoodwinked he is a politician what else do you expect LOL. Can any one here hand on heart give me the name of a single President who has always told the truth always kept election promises never had a single complaint about his running of the country, or a hint of scandal?
If you want to go that rout then please do not complain if the otherside pulls up wrongdoings by Republicans

Admittedly, the cheating would have had to be in the millions in order for it to have an impact--I should have indicated I was joking. In all seriousness, though, we don't know what kind of impact the cheating had. ACORN was corrupt and it played a large part in Obama's being elected. We know that Obama has a questionable past that is filled with relationships with activists who have questionable activities. It's clear that he was not well vetted before he was elected and that if more attention had been paid to his activities that he might not have gotten the nomination--look at what a few affairs did to Herman Cain and what headaches did to Michelle Bachman. Then again, Obama survived "Reverend" Wright. So who knows?

However, if we can't bring up issues in his past and we can't debate his value as a leader, then what's the point of the forum? Some of the things that he has done are quite unbelievable to me and I actually turn him off when he speaks--I did the same thing with Bush II. Prior to those two presidents, I had never been so cynical as to do such a thing. In any case, I don't see that anyone is complaining that someone is responding to the Obama scandals with other presidents' scandals--just debate and comparisons of activities (although it seems kind of silly to say something to the effect of "Bush II stole the 2000 election, so it's fine that Obama's machine engaged in illegal activities to get him the nomination" when both are equally as heinous). If I've ever complained it's about how ugly and personal some of the counter-arguments can get. Some of the personal attacks that some members of this forum make are vicious and uncalled for, going beyond the little personal jabs that are common in heated debate.

 

You know I do believe that Obama did have good intentions when he went to Washington, like every new president, but found out how hard it is to bring the two sides together. I think that if he would have worked as hard on creating jobs as he did on health care, it would be a different story. Even though I agree with a lot of the health care law, I think it could have waited for a later time. Now all we see is arguments and fighting where neither side will compromise and that has a lot to do with how he handled the health care law. Corruption, cheating and those kind of things, I do not agree with, I would have to see a lot more evidence to prove those accusations.

I am just curious to see that when or if a republican is elected to the presidency and things don't get any better, if the same people here will be saying the same things about that person as they did about Obama.

Let me ask you this do you know any one who has ever commited a crime (answer honestly) has any member of your family ever commited a crime (dont even have to be near kin) if so should we then think of you as a shady character simply because of association?
Another question for you what activities did he persue that would have disbarred him from standing for your highest office?
Also do you not think that the Republican party would not have delved deeply into his past to find something to throw at him during the election? (and both sides do this with glee)

 

Vetted in the sense that he did no t have any felony convictions was not a problem. Vetted so that the lame street news covered his association with Ayers, Dorin, Wright, Ruscoe, etc - well you really had to listen closely. Had Sarah Palin said, "This is the first time in my adult life ....", the media would have made sure everyone on Mars would have heard it. If Allen West would have been alone in the same house with Ruscoe, they would have had the same reaction. Look what they did to Cain with just some unanimous women making unproven accusations and then compare that to the coverage BO's religious mentor with full film documentation. When a significant portion of the voters get their news from MTV and Entertainment news, I will bet that not one of those listeners could name a single individual I named above. Now, 50years ago, I would venture that 90% of the American public knew JFK was a Catholic (but did not know of his affairs).

 

And I am forced to ask yet again what were the Republican party doing supporting him as well? It is all well and good blaming the media for lack of vetting but his own party would have vetted him, the Security services would have taken a very close look at his associations (and if you believe difrentlly then sorry but that is naive) then the Republican party would have been digging into his history with a fine tooth comb (in the same manner the Democrats would have been digging up dirt on Republican candidates)
Sure the Public might not have been aware of JFK infidelities but beleive me the others knew only too well but that was a diferent era much less news coverage no internet

Well lets see I responding to your post about vetting him and digging into his past which you say has not been well done by the media etc hence my response what were the Republicans doing sitting on there hands or secretly are they all President Obama supporters
If as is claimed he has dark secrets in his past do you not believe that the Republican party or the FBI/Secret Service etc would have dug them up and then it would have hit the press?
So far the only people who the right blame for his election are any one but themselfs The right ran a sloppy campaign they underatted him at all times and paid for it and they are doing it again
