What are your most controversial opinions? Try to keep it civil here, I thought it could be helpful to get opposing views on what we think might be our most "out there" stances. But this will only work if we don't attack each other!

    I'll start:

Riots that damage property are a valid form of protest.

To qualify this, I don't find violence against people to be acceptable in any way, and I vastly prefer it when the damage to property is public property.

The protests have gone on for over 100 days now with no signs of change from legislators. Furthermore, the media finds the peaceful protests uninteresting and doesn't cover them. A recent report came out showing 93% of protests this summer were peaceful, but only the riots make the news. For instance, Minneapolis probably seems to have quieted down, but the protests haven't stopped since the day George Floyd was murdered.

Therefore, it is my opinion that the attention destruction of property brings can be a necessary evil in the ultimate fight for justice. The ends justifying the means if you will.

    Your are one sick child.

Yep, it’s okay to burn a business down, and when the businessman’s friend, a Black retired police chief, goes down to check on it, the criminal shoots him dead. Yea, “we have to break a few eggs to make an omelette,” don’t we? Yea, that’s real cool isn’t it?

Grow up son, you sound like an idiot.

Alright, rough start. But that's partly the point of this thread, it makes the poster vulnerable.

So, 7% violence is okay during the protests? Those are your numbers. I think that it’s higher.

How about if the police mistreat only 7% of the unarmed Black Americans? That would be okay, right? After all it’s less than 10%.

The number of times the police have shot unarmed Blacks have been less than 10 instances per year, not 10%, according to recent statistics. Yet those transgressions give your heroes “the right” to right to riot, burn, loot, injure people and in a few instances, kill them all over our nation.

Do you want to know why you are not getting the support you want from the legislatures? It’s because your methods are all wrong. People do not react well to violence, especially when it is directed against their law abiding neighbors who have had nothing to do with whatever transgressions that were allegedly committed against Blacks by the police.

I did not kill George Floyd. Should I have my business, my life’s work, burned down because a rouge cop killed him? Do you think you are going to get my support after you have burned my business down? Do you think that the people in the community, White, Black and Brown, are going to support you after you have destroyed the business that have served them in their neighborhoods?

Get you head out of your ass and start thinking straight.

I have a few controversial opinions. These are only opinions and subject to change based upon additional information.
    • I think the current incarnation of the Democratic Party encourages apathy and appeals to self absorbed people. The days of ask not what your country can do for you are as dead as the dinosaurs.
    • I think that many (certainly not all) people living in poverty choose to be there.
    • I think Joe Biden is fully coherent, but an extremely weak political leader.

I think America is coming apart at the seams, not because of an apolitical president, but because of the quality of its citizenry.

Generally, I believe first generation Americans are its most ardent supporters, and least tempted by the hollow promises of the progressive movement. The exception being those who came here for the promise of milk and honey, and not the promise of freedom.

The character of this nation dilutes with each successive generation, further separated from their ancestors who made such great sacrifices to reach our shores and demonstrated their will to become naturalized.

Generations later, lax and expectant, their descendants are a poor reflection of those that came before them. Not only did early Americans not lean on government for their livelihood, they expected nothing from anyone other than themselves.

Strong of character, full of will and uniquely independent, those were Americans.

To reiterate . . . I think America is coming apart at the seams, not because of an apolitical president, but because of the quality of its citizenry. This began long before Donald Trump ran for president, and will end long after he is gone . . . sadly, if this trend is not reversed, the ending will be a bad one.

How about, "I condemn all rioting and looting and ask those who have been participating in it to stop. This is not a proper avenue of protest."

That is now the official policy as stated by your candidate for President in his ads.

Insurance is not meant to pay reparations to Black people who think they entitled to them. It is a financial device that spreads the risk from the loss of property or one's life due to unforeseen circumstances.

When an insurance company pays a claim, we all pay though higher premiums and, in some cases, a refusal to provide coverage to those who have proven to be at high risk. The person or entity that receives the payment is seldom made 100% whole. They lose assets because some sort of a deductible is almost always involved. They also lose business and run the risk of not being able to re-establish their occupation to the level that it once was.

In some some instances the businesses do not return, leaving the people in the community with fewer choices when it comes to buying necessities like food and clothing. The people are now required to travel to other towns to be the goods which were once conveniently located. When people ask, "Why can't I have a large super market or drug store come to my area?" violence and crime are often the reason, not racism.

Frequently the people who have been inciting these riots don't come from the community. They come in, tear everything up and leave for the next site of social unrest. These outside agitators ruin communities; they don't build them or make them better.

To this I would like to add the fact that the animal who killed the retired Black police chief got out his cell phone, took pictures of the man while he lay dying and put those images up on the Internet. I guess he was proud of the murder he had just committed.

Do you liberals still want to embrace this animal as a freedom fighter and role model?

Something else not mentioned is that the destruction of property drives prices higher, and further expands the liberal urban blight . . . both to the detriment of those already concerned with their inability to afford everything they desire.

I did that with JN, and it took a lot for me to do that. Your posts are only non-sensical gibberish, which I can tolerate. His were entirely different . . . insulting and pompously presented, as if from God's gift to the uninformed.
