The CCAC - Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee held a meeting Sept 27 at the US Mint in Washington DC to consider designs for the Dr. Martin Luther King and Coretta King Gold Medal. Has anyone heard any info from that meeting? It was open to the press and public but I've not seen anything in the news yet.
Dr. Martin Luther King would be nice Commemorative coin as well. He was a great man who had a vision of a great america and it is a shame that his voice was taken away from us all. However, why is Coretta being considered? I know that her and one of the son's runs the museum in Atlanta and she ocassionally makes public speeches but there are thousands of others who have done alot more and some have also paid with there lives. Megar Evers jumps into my mind.
