I have to disagree with you here Andy. This is NOT a stupid thread.

I question what a "Christian" really is as so many people proclaim themselves as "Christian".
I look at their actions in everyday life, and as one who does NOT proclaim himself a "Christian" (nor do I proclaim to be one), I really have to wonder.
Christianty, to me, seems a great guise to hide behind in this country.

I'm a Christian therefore I am good. Bullsheet!

The title to this thread is...

    Christians Murdering People?

If one takes every person in this country that calls themself a "Christian" then the answer is absolutely YES.

    "Christians" murder people.

Depending on one's definition of a "Christian" they not only murder but they murder other "Christians". It happens on a daily basis right here in the good ole US of A.

As for the perp in Wisconsin I'm certainly not going to say he was a "Christian" but of course I'm VERY skeptical of those that do say they are "Christians".

Murder is murder after all isn't it?
One does not have to quote Bible verses while doing it.
Movies don't need to made do they?
Candy and sweets don't need to passed out do they?

For sure these things do happen in the Muslim world. I won't argue that any more than I will argue that ALL Muslims are bad.

If you get right down to it they're crazier than us but we're catching up it seems.

This is not a stupid thread.

Islam and Christianity are siblings of the type that think in much the same way and view the world in much the same terms, which is probably why they have such a hard time getting along with each other. Fascists and Communists have the same problem co-existing. So do political totalitarians and religious totalitarians.

I regret using the word stupid. Thought the thread was off base for I saw it as an attempt to link organized religious based killings being done and sponsered from the middle and near east to a person who may have been born Christian and killed someone due to a chemical imbalance in the head or whatever.

My father was a true Christian and a better man I never did meet. I wish I had his faith but alas I do not and am left with only hoping for the best.

No person, no religion, can claim immunity from having the potential within them to commit such a crime.

Christianity is as dangerous or as benign as any other religion. What time period do you want to talk about? The crusades? The inquisition? Reformation? Witches? The Holocaust? And even in modern America we have Christian inspired violence against homosexuals, abortion providers, and even wiccans. I’m not singling out Christianity alone, any religion has the ability to inspire violence and certainly Christianity has had a rich history of doing exactly that. The reaction of Christians to this type of vocalization of their own history is to feel persecuted and attacked. Again, there are few religions that haven’t gone through periods of violence so Christianity is really no different than any other belief system. IMO Anyone that is willing to believe some of the nonsense organized religion routinely sells can easily be inspired to violence supporting that system of beliefs. After all, your eternal salvation is at stake here.
