Cheetah died!!

Yeah, it was in the Carson days. I am that old. Anybody remember that chimp on the Today Show?

The source was Tarzan talking to Johnny Carson. I remember it because it horrified me, the idea that good old Cheetah would behave badly. In those days chimps were supposed to be cute and cuddly and I was young, stupid and hadn't read enough.

 

Wow! I am impressed. You seem to be the only one in the world who remembers that incident. You really must have a perfect memory!

 

Yes I remember that. I also remember Ernie Kovacs and Mr. Ed. And My Uncle The Martian. Ray Walston, who played the martian, by the way, had his face rearranged by a chimp that was guest starring on that show. I can't remember the Today show chimp's name, it was Mr. something, but I remember this was when Dave Garroway was the anchor. Maybe if you took your head out of your ass and looked around you might remember something too. Don't judge me by your own shortcomings.

I remember watching that chimp when I was kid so I do remember the original series. I never would have known this by watching television news. Thanks for the update.
