If I were an independant business man car dealer, do you think I would want government given the ability to have access to every file and thing on my puter. Would you?

Don't you think this is a bit overeaching?

If Glen Beck shystered us for ratings, shame on him. BUT, the truth is in the car bill. Want to do biz with the gov? Forget your privacy, it is that simple.

 

Glenn Beck simply came out and lied. It was not a simple little fib, it was a huge lie. He showed the citizen accessible website and said his computer locked up so he could not show the actual content of the heavy handed government disclosure. He never mentioned that that disclosure was for dealers only. Further that is not the first outright lie that the guy has come out with:

 

The guy was CRYING on TV. How could you take him seriously?

 

I commented on my thread Jack. I said "form your own opinion folks". I guess that's a huge comment isn't it.

IF this "disclaimer" is true (and I highly doubt it is) how different is it from the Feds monitoring all of one's emails somewhere in San Francisco for "national security"?

You didn't have a problem with that under our last administration did you? Do we type an email and a screen pops up that says ATTENTION YOUR EMAIL MAY BE MONITORED BY THE FEDS. IF WE SEE SOMETHING WE DON'T LIKE WE MAY KICK IN YOUR DOOR FOR QUESTIONING, HIT SEND IF YOU AGREE.

Big Brother is watching and has been for a long time.

Now back to that Beck guy. He takes a computer from one of his associates for the "experiment"? I'd be suing his socks off for that alone then he can't get the results he wants?

Yes, I most certainly was supportive of the wiretapping program, which Obama has continued by the way. Tap those terrorists if it protects us. It's ok now because it's Obama tho, right?

To me, it was ok then AND now.

I see the last three comments here all attack Glen Beck, but yet no one proof the claim is fake. Read it, I did. It is in the rules.

A simlilar clause is in the health care bill. Yes, it is written in lawyer speak, but I do have the luxury of a free in house lawyer to decifer it for me.

Cmon folk, no attacking the messanger if you don't like what the message is.

I am for good programs period. That is a good program, so is the cash for clunkers. Most repos are against it simply because it is Obama. Had Bush done it, it would have been brilliant and the hard left Dems would be screaming foul.

Not a liner here folks, call them as I see them.

 

It is a good program (cash for clunkers) and I sure do see a lot of Conservatives taking advantage of it. Course I also see a lot of them ripping it too when it runs out of money so fast.
Basically though we're on the same page here. No matter how you feel it is pumping money back into the economy.

Now as for wiretapping and Glenn Beck's little stunt.

I'm not as naive as you put it here sometimes Jack and I'm sure you know that.

Is wiretapping still going on? Anyone would be an idiot to not think so. Did it start with Bush? No.
I do believe Bush accelerated it though and it will never go away. This is common sense in a "computer run" world.
I have nothing to hide. We all know it's going on bet the one fear I have is when does it get out of hand?

When does "Big Brother" take it to a new level? Politicians are frequently "taken out of context". What if that happens to you or me? Is it cool then?

THIS is why I don't like "Big Brother" monitoring what I say and type. Only takes one "interpretation" to put an honest man or woman on the hot seat and wrongly so.

Now back to my buddy Glenn Beck. He is indeed a Jagov as are many others on both sides of the fence. Jagovs like this are dangerous and I'll tell you why I feel so strongly about this.

I work with a 66 year old woman. She's on the internet. Her husband is 68 and I see him when he comes in to pick her up from work.
So he comes in the other day and first thing he asks me about is did I see the crap on Glenn Beck. He didn't call it crap of course. He believed every word.
His wife's computer skills run from anything Elvis to forwarding emails, jokes and racial crap (jokes about our President). I get this crap forwarded to me all the time and usually just delete it. Hey, I like her and don't want to hurt her feelings but it's not uncommon to get 10 emails a day.

The scary part is that this crap gets forwarded all over to people that just instantly take it as gospel truth. I'd be willing to bet most people do NO research on stories like this. To me that is scary.
The majority of people that spread the crap do just that. Checking to see if it's true NEVER crosses their minds.

 

Unfortunatly most folks take what they read in the press or hear on the radio and of course the net as total gospel LOL

 

Unfortunately, it goes the other way too. Eventually, like many on this forum, people get so worn down by the garbage that they refuse to think that there could ever be anything wrong. They just assume and think that everything must be a made up, wild story and there should be NO concern no matter what happens, no matter what their favorite candidate does. People that think they've got it all figured out tend to think that way.

This is why they need only to keep the small secrets secret. The big ones are kept themselves by the public's own incredulity.

 

Now I would agree with that what gets me is the constant attacks no matter what!! and mainly attacks without substance.

 

Looks like the re-upped the cash for clunkers! I'd call that good news.
