Well it looks like Hillary is performing something of a comeback in the primaries, do you guy's think that she can actualy turn it around and win the nomination? It is looking very close at the moment with the number of deligates each candidate has. Then its the big question can she beat McCain in the polls or do you think it should be Barack Obama V John McCain?

Steve, as the old time 'Quarter Horse Race Callers' used to say... "It's gonna be a close one no matter who wins."

And we know politicians never lie or make false promises to get elected. Just watch.

Obama is proving to be a master at telling people exactly what they want to hear and getting them to believe every word without question. OMG...... he's a politician!:)

    KLJ Really Smart Guy

He's a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, which is a congregation of the United Church of Christ (UCC). The senior pastor at Trinity (they have 9) is Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr. Rev. Dr. Wright is considered by some within conservative and Christian circles (they overlap in my opinion, but are not the same) to be more concerned with Africa than Jesus. And the UCC, a congregationalist denomination, has a reputation of being very liberal politically and socially. The question I would ask Sen. Obama is how his Christian faith has changed him in a way that could only be done by Christ, not by others (anyone can help the poor - how does CHRIST help him do it?).

Mike Huckabee, although not my choice for president, could answer that question. Could Obama?

If elected, one also has to consider the very real possibility that Obama would turn towards this churches bishops/elders for advice when making decisions which affect the entire nation.

Now that is a little scary...

I can live with that LOL after all he wont be the first politician to believe God is in his corner :D but for ACW it dont make him a muslim closet or open :D

I don't know Steve. I'm worried this particular church (Trinity United Church of Christ) would do more than nudge Obama toward enacting more social programs that cost $$$$, which come out of the working citizens pocket. And, quite possibly the beneficiaries of this would be a specific target ethnic group.

Currently there are a myriad of government supported "Affirmative Action" programs available to "ahem certain ethnic minorities" right now that are gathering dust. The reason behind this; WORK and STUDY are a requirement to qualify and benefit from them. I'm afraid Obama would simply drain the US coffers by just giving the money away.

For example, just look at the ludicrous current plan the Government has. Six hundred dollars is being GIVEN to just about every citizen, regardless of income or employment status. Just one exception would be the disabled veterans (me) who will receive $300, even though we've got a business and pay taxes out the rear. This current plan would be nothing compared to what Obama and the Trinity United Church of Christ might come up with.

...just throw the Presidential Advisors, Cabinet and the rest of the INNER CIRCLE at the White-House out and confide with http://www.tucc.org/pastoral_staff.htm...

Will it happen? Afraid I don't want to take that chance...

Just had a little read about this church including a good piece in the Spectator (A political mag over here) and I have to admit I find them rather disdebing. I dont have any time for White Supremacists, Green Supremacists, Yellow Supremacists nor for certain Black ones.

    NO she can't.

Hillary will be next Senate Majority Leader. The Dem ticket will be Gore/Obama......

Am I crazy? Crazy like a fox..........

Maybe Obama/Gore but isn't it a bit late for Gore to jump in for President?

    Watch this scenario:

Obama deserves to win it, has won more states, more popular vote, more primarys. He cannot win the national, especially now it has come to light his pastor and church problems.

Hillary is making every attemp at stealing the candidacy from him, dirty trick, delegate buying, whatever, and has actually won the delegate rich and more important "big" states. She has more "experience" and deeper roots. It is her who has the salt the Earth strategy tho.

One side or the other is going to go freakin nuts when they lose the noimination.

Either side opposite Clinton / Obama will feel cheated and disenfranchised, and will terribly split the party, worse than now, worse than the Chicago riots of the past at the Dem convention. This is a cure all, with Gore the saviour, as Obama releases his delegates to him in exchange for the Veep spot, and Hillary will replace the dreadfully incompetent Harry Reid.

This is not my idea, but that of Terry McCullif (sic) and top Dem insiders, in order to salvage what is left. I am only repeating what I have heard and read.

Seems like a plan to me

Interesting reading to say the least.

Obama will win. As you stated in another thread (been doing a lot of reading it's an older thread) you'd think Hillary already was in office. Sorry if that's a bad "quote" but I agreed with it. Her "when I'm President" angle was way off.

Now Obama's doing it but I think he probably will be the next President.
Hillary won't be vice that's for sure.

As for the "pastor incident" the media is really playing it up. He'll steamroll over that like he has everything else. Actually for anyone that bothered to watch the FULL 37 minute speech he's ALREADY steamrolled it.

Is the pastor an idiot? Yes, in many regards he is. Perhaps even bigger than Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton who have basically been real quiet. Are they just waiting? Sharpton might be that stupid but I think Jackson is smarter.
He realises it's not a black and white issue.

Yes, the party is still split and we really won't know until Obama wins (wow I sound like Hillary). VP choice will be important no doubt. Gore (if he'd do it), Bill Richardson, Russ Feingold, Chris Dodd? Who knows?

Now assuming he'll go against McCain who will McCain choose? Huckabee, Condi Rice (which would kill his chances)?

We will know for sure when election time comes but please remember that for every American that isn't fed up there are 10 that are. This works to Obama's advantage big time. Unity or not people are fed up.

An Obama / Richardson ticket will certainly be formidable, as Richardson carries clout with the Hispanic demographic, and Richardson is a great and smart man himself. I like him more than I like MCCain actually.

Dodd and most of the others hate America too much. Thats what blew Biden out of the race so quick as well.

One thing your forgetting is the Nader thing. He will " Ross Perot" Obama for a certain percentage, maybe 3-4%, and in a close election, thats a killer.

Take my word on this, I no sooner want that dirtbag McCain as President than you do, but in my opinion, it is better than the other option, therefore I must support him.

I am not a blind ditto-head, or a party-liner lockstepper at all. I am registered as an Indie ever since the Dubai port security fiasco and the McCain Kennedy amnesty bill. I dropped the republicans in a NY minute. There are sworn officers of the law, federal border agents in prison for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler due to this administration, the Republican administration.

I am a Reagan/Goldwater conservative before any party affiliation.

I am against the policys that the Democrats represent.

The IRS. Social Security. Immigration and Census. The Energy Dept, Department of Education, I can go on and on......
All government entitys, all messed up and all not functioning. What the Dems propose is to create a national ( government ) healthcare plan. We are to believe it will be any better? Now we are to trust those who squandered our retirement plan with our life too? We are to trust those who graduate students who cannot read with the health care of our children? We are to trust the government who cannot locate and refine our own oil supply to supply us with our medical needs?

Who is fooling who? We are to believe the " party of the people " that is fighhting over sex and skin color, that they can unite and change America for the better?

I have no choice but to vote against those policys I disagree with, other than a non vote. Too many Americans have died for my right to do so.

Edited to add: In the other thread, I also called McCain a washed up has-been.......go figure. The REAL comeback kid.
