I know it's a YouTube copy and paste but it's only 2-1/2 minutes. OK, I'll say it first. NO BALLS! Yes, Senator Barrasso clembo says you have no balls and seriously wonder if you might have wet yourself during this interview. There are two responses that would have proved you had balls. 1) "Yes I think he is wrong on this statement" or any other incarnation would have sufficed. 2) "No, I don't think he's wrong. I hope Obama fails." or any other incarnation. Too much to ask apparently but why is he so scared and did he wet himself?
No politician probably has balls when it comes to possibly alienating voters. That interview does show why I hate listening to so many politicians talk. They just spin and stay on message without answering questions. You can see it in a lot of interviews. About the 'failure', though...if what President Obama is trying to do were to succeed in the short term in helping the economy recover quicker than it would have in some other way but those same policies were destined to ruin us by the overwhelming debt (or by causing a future crash that would be even worse or in some other way) in the long term - maybe 8-10 years down the road - would everyone really want him to succeed? I would hope not. Sometimes when I think about this situation we are in, I wonder if it was inevitable given the last 20 years or more of what has been going on. Was the stock market at 14000 real or just an inflated balloon that was absolutely going to pop? Were houses really worth so much more than they are now or was it a mirage that eventually had to fade? Kind of like if you got new neighbors and they immediately remodeled and refurnished the house they just bought and bought 2 new Ferraris and a yacht...all on credit. Were they really wealthy or was it all imaginary wealth? And would it be inevitable that they would be back to renting an apartment and driving a broken down Pinto at some point? And what if they came to you for money? Would loaning them money just prolong the inevitable? Or could it really get them out of their problems? So maybe all this spending and bailouts and everything else is just throwing good money after bad and will do nothing but hurt everyone and the country in the long term even if it prolongs the party in the short term. Who knows? Just something I think about at times.
I watched all of 30 seconds and hung up in disgust. Clembo, we are in 100% agreement. NO BALLZ as Tony Montana would say. A complete failure and total Linguini spine fence sitter. Get a sack, loser. A disgrace to conservatives. Change your Depends before you go on national network television and leak yourself wet. Get a dry seat and stand for something. I will give my real opinion soon
LOL He was tip toeing on a fine line there. Yes, I will say he had no balls. The proper response would have been to address the clown about the context of what Rush was saying. Instead he leaves everybody who didn't hear the Rush interview to wonder what he actually said. Which means they believe Rush said he wants Obama to fail just in a mean spirit against the country. I could have handled the interview better.
He could have said any number of things. "If I wanted him to succeed I would switch parties." or "If I wanted him to succeed, I'd have voted for his legislation." or "Please don't confuse the President's success with the country's success." I'd have to toss a coin to decide if he has no balls or if he is just dimwitted.
Exactly the type of Repo that needs bounced out on their butt in 2010...the poll watcher, " gentle type", too worried about re-election and touchy feely carp. Get a Spine, grow a pair or get the F out of the way. Take McCain with you.
can ya tell im Irked by the current crop of Repos? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I put " irked" into capitol's on purpose
Sorry to quote you twice on this AJ but youi're points are pretty much the reason I started this thread. It's not a slam on Republicans in general. It is a slam on the spineless variety present. I can truly see why you're a "conservative in exile". As I have stated in the past I have voted Republican. SEVERAL times actually as I thought they had the better candidate at the time. Now looking at what they have to offer and what they might come up with I suggest they start getting at it and stop worrying about what Rush thinks. He's a frigging talk show host for cripes sake! Now, I know this may offend some Rush fans but so what. He may have some views and ideas that many of you agree with but is he in office? Nope, nor does he want to be as it would be a huge paycut. Now Vess, you can cry "taken out of context" all you want but the fact is he has stated this on several occasions and he knows how it gets interpreted yet keeps on doing it. Does this help or hurt the Republican party overall? Did it help Barrasso when he was backed into a cornter? Methinks not. Does this make the Republican party look good? Again, methinks not. BTW Vess I did notice that you said Barrasso had no balls for the record. Now for the record - I DO NOT hope the Republican party fails but they're sure not gaining any ground IMHO. Lack of balls has a lot to do with that. This country NEEDS a Republican party. We NEED at least a two party system and frankly I'd like to see more. Think of it this way folks. If the Republican party can't find a leader other than one on the radio what are their chances in 2012 if Obama does even a remotely good job? I dunno but if I were a staunch Republican at this point I'd start asking a heck of a lot more from the people that represent me. Growing balls would be high on list. If they don't the evil Obama/Socialist/Marxist scenario gets even scarier and all because the current batch of Republicans are self destructing. Just tossing this one out for discussion folks. clembo
I have a feeling Obama's going to wish he would have never gotten elected by the time this is over. We're in a massive economic downturn that pretty much started the day he took office. The markets continue to plummet. He's said jobs will continue to be shed throughout 2009. He took a free gamble with tax payer money. If he fails, what happens to him personally? He still gets his salary, pension, health insurance, secret service protection for life. This could be a depression that lasts the full 4 years of his presidency. Sound dramatic? Well let me ask you this. Look at the markets. Who are the big name companies that are going to be left standing, to bring them back? Who's going to be doing all the hiring to turn this economy around? Right now, it looks like only the government. We aren't going to have anything left to be able to return to prosperity! On top of this, we're going to get hammered with inflation. Whether there was anything he could do about it or not, won't matter. He's the president in there at this time. There's his legacy laid out for you. I wouldn't bet on another 4 years.
Mc Donalds actualy most of the fast food outlets are making money and at least over here a few are even expanding!!
He has no balls, whatsoever. But he's like most of the GOP who are floundering like a fish on land. They are so way out of the picture of what the American public voted for that it's like they're under water looking up at the surface. They cant see beyond their own interests. They know what it means to be shut out of their votes in the legislature. They did it to the Democrats for years and now they see it happening to them. Payback is a M*****F***er.
Obama loves to claim "mandate" status but he got 52% of the vote for goodness sake...not exactly a landslide.
I do believe it was 52.9% (69,456,897) which is quite a bit better than the 50.7% (62,040,610) that President Bush got when he beat Kerry (50,456,002 agains Al Gore). Also I do think he got somewhat of a landslide in the electoral college results 365 Then there is voter turnout to be considerd, for the 2008 election it was 61.6% and for the 2004 56.7% and the 2000 51.3% So all in all I would say yes he did have a mandate
52.7 for, 47.3 against? How in the world is that a mandate? 75/25? That's a mandate! 80/20? Mandate! 5.4%? Far, far from a mandate. Imagine the outcome if Obama's vote buying promises and class envy/class warfare rhetoric hadn't gotten so many historically non-voting/1st time voting citizens to the polls.
Ah David, At some point you really need to accept reality. Remember way back when one of your goals was to make me "see the light"? The "light" of course being every paranoid delusion you had about me voting for Obama because you felt I was relatively intelligent? Remember that? Now here's a good quote from you on another thread. How did I repeat this? Sure I said Obama kicked McCains butt. Other than that who uses the word MANDATE any more than you? No one that I can see. MANDATE or not. Obama IS the President of the United States of America. Deal with it and possibly crack your mind open and support him on a few issues. The way we had did NOT work and no one can guarantee the new way will work. Even "considering" programs gives one, at least, some balls. Fold over, die and scream "Countdown until Impeachment" and you have effectively shown me you have no balls. Rush would love you though.
Lets see more people voted for him than against, therefore he has a mandate from the majority of those who voted, or are you saying that there is some secret rule wherby he has to have 75% of the popular vote before he can carry out the role of President? I am not 100% sure but I had allways believed that America was a democracy of a sort and the President was elected to carry out the wishes of the people? now to me 52.9% is more than the other guy got so HE IS YOUR PRESIDENT
"Mandate" is a word that Obama & his minions use on a regular basis when their schemes are called into question. You know they have been reasoned into a corner when they make that argument. You know, maybe I am off base in all of this and you & Obama are the enlightened ones. Let's see, it flies in the face of reason but may have possible applications elsewhere. I always believed that when you found yourself in a hole you should stop digging but if you & Obama are to be believed maybe you should just keep right on digging? Let the alcoholic drink himself sober? Spend your way into wealth? Duuno, hard for me to embrace but we'll see, we are certainly on that path, aren't we?
