A chilly Arctic summer has left nearly a million more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 60 per cent.
The rebound from 2012’s record low comes six years after the BBC reported that global warming would leave the Arctic ice-free in summer by 2013.
Instead, days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores.

The Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific has remained blocked by pack-ice all year. More than 20 yachts that had planned to sail it have been left ice-bound and a cruise ship attempting the route was forced to turn back.
Some eminent scientists now believe the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century – a process that would expose computer forecasts of imminent catastrophic warming as dangerously misleading.
The disclosure comes 11 months after The Mail on Sunday triggered intense political and scientific debate by revealing that global warming has ‘paused’ since the beginning of 1997 – an event that the computer models used by climate experts failed to predict.
In March, this newspaper further revealed that temperatures are about to drop below the level that the models forecast with ‘90 per cent certainty’.
The pause – which has now been accepted as real by every major climate research centre – is important, because the models’ predictions of ever-increasing global temperatures have made many of the world’s economies divert billions of pounds into ‘green’ measures to counter climate change.
Those predictions now appear gravely flawed.

(Sea ice) was "well above the level recorded last year...". Did you miss that part of the article you quoted?

Did Cletusitis prevent you from seeing the next few words?:
Additionally, did you fail to realized the relevance of the graph I provided? It indicates a pattern which ends with little to no Summer sea-ice in the Arctic by the year 2090.

Is that "Deliverance", I hear?

You stupid moron. If you had bothered to read the article I posted, you would have seen that it didn't mention the weather patterns for the last 30 years. Or the last 100 years. Or the last 10,000 years. Or the weather since dinosaurs walked the earth. It talks about the increase in ice for the last year and debunks the report that the Arctic would be "ice-free" by the summer of 2013. Mercy! How stupid can you be? Seriously.

    "stupid moron"...is a tautology.

Cletusitus blabberus nonsensicus must be your given name.

That or "ignorant partisan hack", as you are using a one year example to discredit the long-term trend.

That's a bit like showing an image of a plane about to hit the Trade Center and saying "Look! It hasn't hit! You people thinking this is going to be a problem are just a bunch of moronic idiots!"

And since your cletusitis is in full-swing today:

Tell us what happens next, or is your cletusitis telling you that the sample is just too inconclusive.

That 2013 ice free report was never embraced by any scientific reports I've ever read. Most predicted around 2080 or so. An increase of that magnitude doesn't mean a thing. It would take a 60% increase for the next 100 years straight to repair the past 50 years of melt. Today was 15 degrees cooler than average for this day where I live, but it doesn't erase the 45 other days this year where it was warmer than average.

This is from the article I posted in case you didn't read it:

"... global warming has ‘paused’ since the beginning of 1997 – an event that the computer models used by climate experts failed to predict."

Can you get that through your pointy little head? Even though the "climate experts" predicted the ice caps would melt in 2013, they didn't. In fact, they grew. Global warming has been on "pause" since 1997 and they didn't predict that either. Countries have spent billions of dollars on "green" initiatives concerning the climate and are now looking very foolish for doing so.

Honestly, I don't think you know anything about the climate. You just regurgitate everything Little Joe says. Good luck with that.

QUICKLY RISING TO THE LOW TO MID 90S...AND EVEN UPPER 90S ACROSS
NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS. MODERATE HUMIDITY COINCIDING
WITH THIS 90 DEGREE WEATHER WILL PROVIDE HEAT INDICES APPROACHING
100 DEGREES IN MOST LOCATIONS BY EARLY AFTERNOON...WITH HEAT
INDICES SLIGHTLY ABOVE 100 DEGREES IN THE WARMER LOCATIONS.

    Yep, it's still Summer.

And the graph I provided indicating a steady decline of Summer sea-ice over the past 30 years means nothing?

Well, there's nothing to your arguments here besides the spittle of a partisan hack.

But, continue with your non-sense if you must. It's probably all you have.
