So BO's economic strategy has been to change out parts until he figures out what is broken. Due to his irresponsible spending we find ourselves in a hole we can't dig out of...so what's his brilliant idea? Yep, he wants to raise taxes $1 trillion so he can just keep on spending!!

Is that over 10 years? Most of this stuff - cuts and spending, they are giving 10 year numbers on so it seems like they are really doing something when they are really just pee'ing on a house fire.

I think you are slightly misreading that story. BO is "insisting on a $1 trillion tax increase". I think that means that he WANTS to increase the taxes $10 trillion, but knows it won't fly. Therefore, he is willing to SETTLE for a mere $1 trillion tax increase.

BTW, that does appear to be over 10 years.

I figured it was probably 10 years. That is $100 billion a year. Less than $300 per person in the US. Not a pittance but currently each person's share of the national debt is over $40,000.

A more apt way of looking at those numbers is that it is about $1200 per tax payer and each tax payer's share of the national debt is $160,000. (I am sure those numbers are not exact, but I will bet they are real close.)

I bet those numbers are real close. Good enough for government work anyway. ;)

This kind of propaganda from a party that represents the biggest debt raisers since Reagan and Bush. Didn't Cheney say something like "the debt doesn't matter"? Bush in there, it's cool. Obama gets in and suddenly it's an issue. Go figure.

I know of no one here who said of Bush's spending "it's cool". However, Bush's spending doesn't hold a candle next top BO's.

Oh, wow, the Fox News Street Journal bashing Obama.... lol .. can't you do any better than that? What's next, Limbaugh is going to call him a Nazi? Earth shattering.

Reporting on BO maybe, but not bashing him. I haven't even seen where the story has been disputed.

By the way, what happened to the grand changes that were supposed to happen on the site?

Well, I guess we coulnd't have more definitive proof than that, could we?

Well, if you have information to the contrary....

And you failed to answer the question about the little changes you planned on making to the website you boasted about last week. What happened, huh?

It wasn't pissed and moaned about by the right like it is now either. Their guy, and as Cheney said "debt/deficits don't matter". So as they leave office though, suddenly they matter. Hypocritical pigs.

But in Bush's first 7 years COMBINED he did not spend what BO has spent so far. Yes, lots of people complained about what Bush spent in his last year. See moen's linkhttp://www.presidentialdebt.org/

Yet for all of this he has apparently allready raised some $86 Million for his campaign fund & Dnc that is $26 more than they targeted and I also believe more than any of his rivals Dem or Rep, taking this into account says he realy can not be as unpopular as some here would like us to believe.
It is thought that he might well be on track to raise over a Billion!!

What on earth does this have to do with raising our taxes or even increasing our national debt?

More to the point, why is someone from across the pond so blatantly pro-Obama?

LOL I have allways stated that I woudnt vote for the man if I ever had that oppertunity he reminds me to much of our own wonder boy Tony Blair (and that was before he was even given his parties nomination) but of course little observations such as that pass most of you by as you are too blinkerd There was nothing Pro President Obama about the statement it was simply a observation as for what it has to do with this discussion nothing at all but hell that has never stoped you lot has it.
Now if you wish to keep all threads precisly on track I am happy to oblige but the same strict criteria will be applied to you lot as well.
