Ha, I don't mind. I do like your suggestive topic of "Beautiful American female bicyclists who spit on passing cars driven by beautiful Russian females." Classic!

I think when I was 8, I might have thought weaving in and out of traffic, running red lights and jumping curbs was excitement. Now I have matured...excuse me...become very boring. I am so boring now that I don't even put playing cards in my spokes any more. Pity me. lol

Cars are for roads and bikes are for sidewalks.

I'll try to put this in the same context my Old Man would have. Now you've got to remember that many items used to be in the children's toy section of larger department stores, like Gibsons and Sears. Most old-timers and middle-timers (like myself) will remember those days fondly. He would have said "They keep bicycles in the toy section for a reason..."

When did I say I've never broken a law before? Why is it hard to believe that I follow the rules of the road when I bike? It's for my own safety.

Bruce: Thanks, ha. I didn't think it would get this long.

alwayslost: Based on your lone comment, it's obvious you wouldn't have the b***s to ride in the street.

Bone: You and me, we're racing. Your bike vs. my toy bike. 11 p.m. by the flagpole. Be there or be square.

That how it is in Russia, if you person walking in road, you are a challenge to knock off - who know, walker might be fascist or imperialist pig. It kind of funny drive around Moskva, then you see no left turns of cars, but people walk across street walk with purpose of not get killed by motorist. More people die of road accident in Russia than in USA, even though USA have many times more cars and driver.

Yes but if we are being honest about it, the number of suicides would also have to be counted in with the accidents here in the U.S. in order to be counting the same things.

And most people just spend coins for a reason. ;)

The meat pylons have a different opinion on that subject.

No kidding. Boring or not, I don't need to use my bike for thrill seeking That is what collecting coins and posting on message boards is for.

Most people are totally oblivious to the difference between an Xmart bike and a good, well maintained bike. It would be like trying to explain a 1909-S VDB to a non-collector.

I never actually realized the amount of hate for bikers out there until recently when I started participating on various bike message boards and heard some stories. I've been pretty oblivious to it where I live. I don't get yelled at or harassed but I guess it is not that way everywhere.

    Ha, agreed.

Living in an urban area, there's just so much more traffic to deal with, and so much more chance for conflict. Cities like Seattle and Portland (Oregon) see a LOT of bikers in their downtowns (and then there's Manhattan...a whole 'nother story), and the majority of those riding them are hipster kids my age riding fixed-gear messenger bikes. I would love to be a messenger, but you sort of have to break laws, since your wage is based on how many deliveries you make in a day. I have a lot of friends who bike, and we all have horror stories to tell. It's nice knowing we can all chat about it to someone else who understands, sorta in the same way we can all chat here about coins, or how every worker at Starbucks can b**ch about customers together (three nights a week for me!).

A well-maintained bike can cost a ton of money. $2000 for a solid track frame with all the fixins' for a messenger bike is not unheard of. But to a lot of people, a bike is a bike is a bike, and they all belong "on the sidewalk."

*Sigh* I guess I can only hope that more people would get outta their cars and actually bike somewhere for once. I think the roads would be safer overall if everyone knew what it was like for those of us who ride everyday.

A lot of people would be better off if they biked or walked somewhere once in a while. ;)

But you did weave in and out of traffic right? so when you said never, you meant now that you are boring, right?

Well here's one time you said you never broke the law.
I think you wrote two more instances where you stated that. Please dont make me look for any more. My head hurts.
