Hey Ben, you really can't lie about things that are so easily googled. I'm sure that all the Right-wingers here that are so offended by "lies" will call you out immediately. Yeah right! The idiotic GOP audience sure fell for the lies. Conservative Writer Calls Out Carson's 'Bold-Faced Lies' About Company ByCATHERINE THOMPSON Dr. Ben Carson flatly rejected a CNBC moderator's questions about his ties to a medical supplement company during Wednesday night's Republican presidential debate. But Carson's responses were just "bold-faced lies," according to National Review's Jim Geraghty, who reported on Carson's ties to Mannatech Inc. earlier this year. The retired neurosurgeon first spoke at a Mannatech event in 2004 and continued speaking at the company's conferences over the next decade, according to Geraghty's report. Carson also spoke about the health benefits he felt he'd gotten from taking Mannatech's supplements in a video for the company and touted "glyconutrients" in a 2014 PBS special. The company has also touted Carson's experience with their products in its press releases.
Well, I wonder if lying even matters anymore when we get lied to every day from both political groups, reporters, teachers, coworkers, siblings, neighbors etc. I don't know about you, but I have gotten to the point where I just ignore much of what I hear from people in general.
Politicians always put themselves in the best possible light while at the same time putting their opponents in the worst possible light. Listening to what one side says about the other side is pointless. If for example Hillary Clinton ran a puppy rescue campaign, the Republicans would say that she is hoarding puppies. If Chris Christie build an entirely new bridge from Jersey to New York himself, the Democrats would say that he was taking jobs away from workers. That's the game that is played in this country. Only the true believers actually fall for the lies they choose to believe and reject the ones they see on the other side. So what can we do? Never believe in the characterizations any candidate has of the other side. Reject them as biased immediately. Take what a candidate says about themselves and reduce its value by 20-25 percent. If you decide to believe something, fact check it yourself or completely disregard it. It a candidates claims to have dome something or not done something, don't believe them, verify the truth yourself. The best advice you'll never take.
... and if Hillary hid her secret e-mail server in a bathroom closet, Republicans would say that she hid her secret e-mail server in a bathroom closet.
You should stop using the word "bold-faced" instead of the word "bald-faced" or "barefaced". You do it often.
Both are the correct usage dummy. Nice try though.....NOT!!!!!! There is often confusion about which word, bald or bold, is the correct one in this particular idiom. But fret no more, we now have the definitive answer: They’re both acceptable. What's the matter, can't you bring yourself to talk about Carson's lies? Of course you can't. You're just that pathetic. No wonder you support the clowns on the Right, you're a joke too.
Carson was just plain lyin' Top Staffer Acknowledges Ben Carson Had 'Contract' With Supplement Maker (VIDEO) CNN ByCATHERINE THOMPSON Dr. Ben Carson's business manager acknowledged Thursday that the Republican presidential candidate did have a "contract" with a medical supplement company at some point. Armstrong Williams told CNN's Jake Tapper that he negotiated the retired neurosurgeon's contract himself. Carson said in response to a question at Wednesday night's Republican presidential debate that it was "total propaganda" to suggest he had a relationship with Mannatech Inc., which claims to cure autism and cancer with its products and settled a $7 million false advertising lawsuit. National Review's Jim Geraghty, who reported on the candidate's ties to Mannatech earlier this year, called Carson's claim that he wasn't involved with the company a "bald-faced lie." The audience loudly booed CNBC moderator Carl Quintanilla when he asked Carson whether his ties to the company "speak to your vetting process or judgement in any way." "See, they know," Carson said, implying the question was off-base. Yet Williams told Tapper on "The Lead" that he thought it was fair for Quintanilla to ask Carson about his ties to the company. He argued that Carson wasn't involved hammering out the details of his speeches or testimonials for the company, though. "Nothing is ever what it appears to be," he said. "What is good about this is that I actually negotiated the contract as his business manager." After Tapper played a clip of Carson speaking in a Mannatech promotional video, Williams started talking about an entirely different video that Carson appeared in for the company. He recounted that when Mannatech asked Carson to travel to Arizona to tape a special for PBS, Carson called him to express discomfort with the script the company provided. Carson ultimately ditched that script in favor of saying "what he wants to say," according to Williams. "He said 'I don't believe this. I'm not going to do it,'" Williams said. "That was showing his integrity. And when that was over he made it clear to me 'You need to get me out of this, I'm not going to do this again.' And it was over." Tapper pressed Williams to clarify the nature of Carson's ties to Mannatech. "That does seem to suggest there was some relationship," the CNN anchor said. "It's over now, but there was some relationship at some point." Williams didn't answer the question directly. "Obviously when the Washington Speakers Bureau books you to go and give a speech," he said, "sometimes you may not always know all the details because there are some things that are negotiated that you're unaware of. Like the script."
Just because Republicans can't ever admit that they are lying, doesn't mean that they actually aren't lying. The GOP: Lie and deny.
Carson said "That's easy to answer, I didn't have any involvement with them. That is total propaganda" That's a lie. He had a contract with them.
Even the National Review, which still prides itself on being the voice of the thinking conservative, calls bullsh*t on Carson. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/426232/big-night-gops-cuban-american-duo-jim-geraghty
And this is the very reason the old curmudgeon lying Hillary will not/shouldn't win the White house. And if for some reason she does win it will only be because stupid folks want to be part of the movement that elected the first woman President unfortunately. And people voting that way should not be allowed to vote.
So if you lose there must be some underlying reason like stupid people or people only interested in electing the first female president. It couldn't possibly be that your slate of pathetic candidates caused your side to lose because that would involve you taking responsibility for the people you supported. This is exactly why you'll continue to lose. You never take responsibility for your own side while continually see others as stupid for not seeing things the way you see them.
Lying is part and parcel of politics. There are several levels of calculated lies from merely stretching the truth to bald or bold-faced lies (that's a swipe at CoitusOKC). Often the actual truth is parsed out into various degrees of spin and mushy facts. Why would I as a candidate make my opponent look better than I have to? We saw one candidate go against that popular tactic in the Democrats debate when Sanders exclaimed that he couldn't care less about Clinton's emails. He could have said nothing, he could have exploited the emails, but he didn't. What was the reaction, a lot of people said that he missed an opportunity. So honesty doesn't seem to be anymore prized than the lies we routinely hear from our candidates. We prefer the lies and we prefer the lies of our candidates over the lies of the other side it would seem. So calling either side out for lying is about as stupid a criticism as anyone can level at the other side.
Okay, since you, and others have been curious to know, I will reluctantly reveal my personal position here, but only this one time, so don't forget it, because I will not repeat it. I have never even voted because I have never done many things in this simple life of mine, including owning/driving vehicles, sexual activities, drugs, alcohol etc. I am just a very private individual who avoids most things in life so as to be at personal peace. Now, which liar/fraud will you vote for?
I'll go with Grammarist on this one instead of your choice of believing MentalFloss. http://grammarist.com/usage/bald-faced-boldface/
