OK David you did what I did and paid your own fees the big difference is that now there are less jobs available, more youngsters wishing to go to University and the fees have increased so lets be honest that is a limited option is it not?
So what viable alternatives do you put forwards to pay for Students to attend University or Collage? at the moment all you are doing is complaining about a buisiness trying to be a sucess by following the same pattern as other institutions
The truth is you have a limited number of options

    1 Student grants
    2 family pays
    3 local/national goverment pays
    4 bursary
    5 work your way
    6 Sponsorship

Now with option #2 that depends if the family can afford it, option #5 depends on the number of jobs available, #4 are limited in avvailability and #6 quite ofte ties you to a company for a number of years or you have to pay them back with interest

You can not expect the University to lower it's fees as that lowers it's income and capacity to lure the best tutors that they can afford (same as banks etc)

Now I dont know how it is in the uS but here we have fees as well but the repayments do not kick in until the student begins to earn over a certain amount and then are staggerd over a number of years. OK you can end up with a large debt but by the same token the advantages can outnumber the disadvantages in the jobs market

And never any experience in academia! But you're such an authority. I wonder how that happens? Oh yeah. It doesn't.

Still looking for even one example of the some person in higher education duping and conning young naive kids into taking out students loans. If you say it enough time without ever showing any proof, will that make it true? Seems to be your strategy. What a coward!

Show me one instance of where I defended student loans.

There is no one in higher education that sells student loans. It doesn't happen nor could it even happen legally. You have this fantasy in your head and you can't let it go. Still would like to see an example of someone in higher education behaving as you have asserted. Oh yeah, you haven't been able to come up with one in the last 4 pages.

Gee! The for-profit “universities” acting like predators preying on student loan money. Who could have imagined that happening while the non-profit universities are not under investigation? I guess your faith and allegiance to the almighty for-profit sector means that you have to ignore this and continue with your unproven fantasy that we are preying on naïve students to get them to enroll just to get cash and saddle them with debt. Still waiting for the proof of your allegations buddy.

P.S. Their graduation rate is 22%

University Of Phoenix Recruiter LIES To Undercover ABC Producer About Job Possibilities
Following the recent revelation that for-profit college recruiters often use deceptive tactics when reaching out to potential students, ABC News decided to go undercover and see if that was still the case at the University of Phoenix.
    Short answer: Yes.
A University of Phoenix recruiter guaranteed an undercover producer that, after completing a bachelor's of science of education program at the school, he would be able to find a job as a teacher in New York or Texas. Additional research by ABC proved otherwise.
University of Phoenix President William Pepicello responded to the sting: "Can we do better? Absolutely."
