But, what would have come of the Lion of the Senate, that great bastion of the left Ted Kennedy if term limits had been enacted? Poor, poor Ted.
Yes dude whatever I want to believe! which was basicly the same as you said dude if they start acting in the best interest of your country and not from a position of self ie stop acting like children Dude
Who is complaining about gov't spending or tuition prices here? I'm complaining about people like you who are pushing massive student loan debt onto young people who do not know any better and setting them on a course that has proven difficult to overcome. Nice try at changing the subject, though.
Nice try. How do you sleep at night knowing the financial burden you are pushing people into? Do you ever feel guilty about sticking naive kids with so much debt?
Poor, poor David! His kids have to pay for his political mistakes or should I say he has to pay for his political mistakes. Now he finds it necessary to blame the institutions that he and his party have been attacking and defunding for decades. The check has arrived at your doorstep and the bill is due. Education isn't free and never has been. The Right-wing has chosen to put education out of the reach of the average middle class student and now they want to blame the institution they made more expensive with short-sighted, thoughtless, greedy stupidity. While I feel sorry for those that are merely victims of Right-wing politics, when it comes to people like David and his kids, I find it just funny.
You don't have to worry about me, my kid's & my wife's education is fully funded...through years of hardwork & advance planning. I am schocked that you have such a non-caring attitude regarding the work you do. I wonder how many other student loan pushers out there, like you, find it so "funny" to strap on so much debt to coollege students?
The funny part is that I have never discussed any kind of funding with anyone ever. Do you have as much sympathy for the people that you sell your widgets to when you go to work? Do you try to squeeze every penny of profit you can from your customers? Do they pay for your nice office and generous benefits? I work for a non-profit organization so our motive is purely to serve our students. We don’t make any additional money above out annual costs. We hand out grants, scholarships, financial aid, tuition waivers, student worker jobs that waive tuition and pay a stipend, and yes some students have to take out student loans. What do you give away to your customers? I have to wonder.
So, now you are comparing what you claim is a non-profit to a capitalist enterprise? Good for you. I just wonder how many times you've looked a student in the eye and recommended they take out a student loan knowing all along they either would never graduate or you painted a much rosier future than reality would dictate. I wonder.
What a ! You have no idea what you‘re talking about do you? You blather on endlessly sounding like a complete idiot while actually knowing nothing about public education institutions. Go for it binky. You seem to be the authority here since you actually work at a university and I don’t…Oh yeah, it is completely the opposite isn’t it!
Oh, I see. When someone repeats your words back to you & you get to hear how stupid they sound, you go straight to hurling the insults. Yep, yep, yep.

Imagine that! If you buy one of David's widgets you get a widget designed under the planned obsolesces model of manufacturing but if you finance your education you will not only average 1 million dollars more in salary over your lifetime, you are also much less likely to suffer job loss during a recession. Keep selling those widgets David! What would we do without them? You make such a valuable contribution to society. Last month, the Chronicle of Higher Education reported that one out of every five government student loans that entered repayment in 1995 has since gone into default. Yet a college degree still appears to be a significant advantage when it comes to the job market. A recent report from the Labor Department shows that for workers 25 and over with at least a bachelor's degree, the unemployment rate in July was 4.3 percent -- compared with 8.3 percent for workers with "some college," and 9.3 percent for workers with just a high school diploma. In other words, while unemployment for high school graduates slightly exceeds the national rate of 9.1 percent, the jobless rate for college graduates is less than half that.
Do you feel any guilt over sending those same aged kids to war? Oh, it's their choice isn't it? That's right they are adults at 18 and responsible for their own decisions. They can get a job and pay for their education or they can coast along on student loans until the bill comes due. Sort of their own choice as it should. Your preceived invisble hand selling student loans by higher education is your own myth. Everyone fills out the same FAFSA application that determines need. How they chose to finance the education is in many cases their first adult decision. Some prefer to work their way through college and some just want to party. It's a life lesson everyone eventually has to face in one context or another. Our classrooms will fil up or they won't and we adjust to the needs of the students that do enroll. If there are lots of students we hire additional instrctors. If there are only a few, we hire less. No profit motive here.
Why do you keep hiding from the truth? I'll say this for you & everyone reading this: I am all for higher education. I benefited, my wife benefited & my kids will follow. I expect my employees to be well educated. I take issue with irresponsible schools & soul-less salesmen (like dr moen, phd) taking advantage of students & their families with massive student loan debt. There are better ways to pay for ones education but I doubt dr moen, phd would ever discuss alternatives because his income/bonuses would be affected. Exactly what is your quota moen? Is it the number of student loans you sell? The dollar amount? What?
Would you mind actually producing an instance of me or anyone else at my college taking advantage of any students? I mean as long as you are accusing me/us, you should be able to produce some proof of this behavior. Show me the soul-less salemen you are referring to or admit that you are once again talking out of your ass.
Think about the last time you hooked a student into a student loan without first exhausting non-debt heaping alternatives. Remember? Yeah, that's the one.
Can I ask what is the Alternative, unless you mean Goverment pays for free collage education? or you hopefuly manage to get a job with a company who are willing to sponsor your education for a price?
So, you have absolutely no proof of what you are condemning the entire college system of and not even one of your famous personal anecdotes to support your weird accusation. You simply are going to rest the burden of proof on "knowing" that I personally hooked some poor student into taking out some enormous student loan they couldn't afford. Maybe this is the point where you just admit you are spewing nothing more than your own biased opinion with no proof, no support, no knowledge, and no idea of what you're talking about. Of course as we all know, it takes a big person to admit when they are wrong but we aren't deal with a big person in you are we? Did you ever wonder if the only reason your kids want to go to college is to get the hell away from you? I certainly have wondered. I'll keep an eye out for that proof but I won't be holding my breath.
