I don't think the infotainment media that is our news services even care about not trying to look biased much any more. For about a week or so, CNN has been using the following lines to describe the candidates getting ready for the debate. "Palin has already spent four days hunkered down in a Philadelphia hotel for debate prep with advisers. Biden was preparing for the debate in Delaware on Monday. " Gives a bit different visual image of each candidate's preparation, doesn't it?
World Net Daily ...good lord you read all the the radical conservative 'news' sites dont you. I know the story is true but your choice of sources are all some of the most slanted opinionated outlets known. Love him or hate him...its all about Obama on WND....and they hate him...each 'article' or should I just call them rants reads like every post David has ever made about Obama. But then again, thats mostly all he posts about.
no...like I said, the story is true but WND is extreme right wing Ann Coulter style biased...this is just plain fact.
nah, they are just like WND but their targets are different. WND is filled with Obama bashing stories, Moveon is filled with McCain and Palin bashing, no different, just a different massive slant. Once in a while they manage to report some facts (but only if it is against those they are against.) I was just pointing out that its not a news site, its a spin site with a clear agenda. News is read with attention to having as little bias as possible...news would report Palin and Obama stories side by side...not have a front page filled with articles bashing just one or the other....no massive rhetoric and partisan bias....just the facts... I admit such news is becoming harder and harder to find as pundits, opinions, rhetoric and partisan attacks have begun to take over and call itself news. I heard the same story this morning on a show that is not, at least, blatantly biased like WND or Moveon...just one in a number of stories...they reported it without having to put their 2 cents in...I dont care what the guy reading the story thinks about it...just report it and STFU.
As I said before, even our 'mainstream' media has reached the point where they don't even care one bit about appearing unbiased. I just don't understand why we are force fed these kind of things. Why do we have a moderator for a VP debate who is writing a book about one of the Presidential candidates. And one who will undoubtedly sell more books if that candidate wins as opposed to not selling as many books if he fades back into the senate. Even if she can remain unbiased, how is this the most appropriate person to moderate the debates. why do we have to put up with the appearance of impropriaty all the time? Is there no one else, black, white, brown, yellow, red, man or woman who can do this debate without this kind of issue being involved?
She's the one who told Cheney "that's all you've got" in the '04 debate when he wanted more time. She's lucky he didn't have his hunting gun with him. LoL But, really, the only thing that bothers me about it is that PBS gets public funding. Fine if they're ultra-Liberal, the ultra-Conservatives got Fox. But, we don't have to support it with public funds.
Ever look up the largest share holders in American media. American media is not american anymore. Even Fox news backed off of Saudia Arabia and just attacks Iran now since the Saudi Royal family became large share holders in its parent company. The arabs also own large shares in Bank of America/Citi Corp etc so of course they will use the media to push the 700 billion give away. "bin Talal—Citigroup Inc.'s biggest individual shareholder and the world's 13th richest person with assets around $20 billion. As a member of the Saudi royal family, he benefits from the country's vast oil wealth. But much of bin Talal's huge fortune comes from his investment firm, the $25-billion Kingdom Holding Co., which has stakes in Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., Fairmont Raffles Hotels International Inc., Time Warner Inc., Apple Inc., PepsiCo Inc., Walt Disney Co. to name a few major corporations". Just type various saudi/kuwaiti billionare or royal family names in a search engine and look at the financial papers to see how much they own of us and how they are using the networks/CNN etc.. media to brain wash us against everything that made us great and slowly replace it with positve messages about islam to replace that void.
I calls 'em likes I sees 'em!! Sometimes a sledge hammer is all you kool-aid drinking lefties understand...look at the strides Hillary made in the later stages of the dem primaries once she took the gloves off and started exposing the real Obama. The truth has to come out about the guy...check that...the truth has come out about the guy but so many of these lemmings just stop listening when Obama says "middle-class tax cut". That's a de facto attempt to buy votes if there ever was one!!
The oil gulf arabs are buying our media outlets and financial networks as well as our Treasury Bills. They are going to turn the USA into the United Shia of America before they are done and they are using the far left media serfs, divisional politics, undermining our nationalism/family values/christian judaic outlook as well as draining us of our wealth to do so.
Ah yes Back to the topic...just wondering but...wouldn't McCain have had to accept the moderator? If he had a problem with her couldn't he insist on someone else? He is not being forced to do this right? Seems to me I see a lot of ranting conservatives on TV news, on the internet, on what I like to call right wing radio (anything on AM save for foreign stations), in print, etc...Seems to me they are far from a dying breed, I am surrounded by them. So I wouldn't worry about the brown people coming in and making you pray to Allah just yet...I have a feeling 1 liberal might be enough to make some extremists say they are dangerous and threatening to destroy the country. But if they put an end to people thinking this country is for Christians...that would be nice Have you ever noticed how guys on the radio, TV and in print so often complain about 'the media'...as they are getting paid to broadcast to us through the TV and Radio or in the papers...in other words the media? I listened to some guy going over the top on Obama and the corporate media...he was foaming at the mouth telling us how awful the media was, controlled by liberals, they would stop free speech, blah blah blah...then he said he would continue after the commercial break...funny...here is a guy who gets paid more money the more people he can get to listen to him rant...he is not being censored by the media boss he works for as he rants against it, his own profession, and the great liberal cabal hasn't eliminated him...he came back after paying the bills. As long as he can keep keep people listening and stirring them up, he will be just fine...and he will get paid to say whatever it takes to get ratings. It does explain why so many are so over the top...over the top = attention=ratings=mo money!! Problem is, more and more people are following suit and going over the top...its creating a nation of very irritating, highly opinionated people who have learned how to interact from a bickering talking heads trying to stirr up controversy to get ratings and fill 24 hours.
They probably would...Has McCain or Palin raised a stink? I havent read about it if he or she has...maybe they feel confident it wont matter? Dont know. Maybe the thought is that who the moderator is wont effect the debate...are the questions the moderator asks previewed by the candidates so they know what to expect?
Okay, here is McCains comment on this: 'I think Gwen Ifill is a professional, and I think she will do a completely objective job because she is a highly respected professional' Now as I look into it...the book Ifill is writing is called 'The breakthrough: Politics and race in the age of Obama' The book is not complete, and she has not even written the last chapter where Obama is mentioned. Now just to show how biased and wrong the report you linked to is, the title says: 'VP debate moderator Ifill releasing pro-Obama book' How can they KNOW its a pro-obama book? For one, he is only one PART of the book, secondly, she hasnt even written the section that covers Obama yet so they cannot know what is IN it: Ifill said Obama's story, which SHE HAS YET TO WRITE, is only a small part of the book. They cannotknow if it will be favorable as I have not written it yet. She has also stated publicly that she is not sure if Obama will make a good president! Its about black leaders, Powell will be in the book as well as others. A lot of that story is about her supposedly being 'snippy' during the 2004 debates towards Cheney who requested more than 30 seconds to explain his connection to Haliburton...and she said 'all you have is 30 seconds' or that she supposedly made a bad face or something when reporting about Palin...is this how its going to be? If Palin screws up, is this going to be the excuse? they put a quote like this in: PBS viewer Brian Meyers of Granby, Conn., said he was "appalled" by Ifill's commentary directly following Palin's convention speech. Who IS this guy they are quoting him? Just some PBS viewer? What are HIS politics I wonder, how did his little quote about it get picked to be in this story and why do I care? Anyway, her response was apt: 'I've got a pretty long track record covering politics, so I am not particularly worried that one-day blog chatter is going to destroy my reputation' You go girl Anyway...It seems McCain doesnt see a problem with it so I guess we will see but I have a feeling this is a none issue.
This definitely does not sound like an Anti-Obama book: http://www.amazon.com/Breakthrough-Politics-Race-Age-Obama/dp/038552501X Personally, I really don't care what McCain or Obama think about the moderator. After some soul searching, I have once again come to the conclusion that I can vote for neither of these parties and have decided that my 'lesser of two evils' stance is not the way I should act as a US voter. However, I still think, as posted above, that we citizens should not have to put up with this kind of appearance of impropriety in a VP debate moderator. Of course, now that I am not an R or D voter, I do not consider this a real debate anyway. It is just the continued subjugation of the American Electorate by the unholy and corrupt alliance of the media, the Democrats and the Republicans.
Well I'm voting for Sarah for at least she spent the majority of her life being a citizen but I am disgusted with McCain for not calling out Obama and any of his own party leadership for this theft of a nation.
I do like Gov Palin and think she could make a good VP or even President. Too bad the way Sen McCain picked her set her up for these problems that she has been having. "Surprise! You're my VP pick! Welcome to the national Stage! Be ready by tomorrow! I'll pick you up at 7 to go to the convention!"
