B.O. can't sell Chicago for 2016...

Let's see...you have B.O. and his wife make a plea for their hometown of Chicago to host the 2016 Olympics. Hell...even Oprah made a pitch too!

But when the votes were counted, Chicago finished LAST.

How could that be? The Messiah was there to deliver!

Wait...wait...almost forgot, B.O. couldn't bring along his ACORN socialist buddies to "count" the votes...or stuff the ballot boxes.

I actually agree with you Midas but not for the same reasons. The President should NOT have wasted his time on this. As for Oprah who really cares?

Chicago can be a beautiful city but it's not built for an Olympics. It would have effectively caused a lot of congestion in three states. Illinois, Inidana and Wisconsin.

As I had stated in another thread I was hoping for it for my own selfish reasons. Living on the Indiana side of the border it may have created some jobs without us bearing the potential tax burden.

Guess we don't have to worry about that now. Back to the drawing board.

 

At least one head will roll, someone is going to " Siberia " for this. Whoever made the decision that he could go and grasp a win ( he needed one ) is in big trouble.

 

Why did we finish last? This is a no-brainer.

Chicago was picked because that is where the messiah hails from. (In some American's eyes anyway.) So they figured they'd be a shoe in. They expected the IOC to bow down and pay their dues to him and his city.

In reality, step back and look at the situation. Look at all aspects of the city. Look at who we sent over there and how this committee might perceive them.

It's no secret that Chicago ranks up there as having one of the most corrupt city governments in the nation. And of course, the ring leader himself is sent. One of the most hated mayors in the U.S., continually involved in scandals, who somehow keeps 'winning' the job (and evading jail time) for the last two decades. While his father served the prior two decades. Like some kind of monarchy.

We send Oprah, who is all about ME, ME, ME, look at me! Listen to me!

We send the Obamas who want to be movie stars rather than serve in a presidential roll.

On top of that, the World doesn't like the U.S. in the first place.

We send people who are corrupt politicians and elitists, to try to bring the games back to a place with the highest taxes in America, where they probably wouldn't be well suited for anyway, but we'll lobby for it with these people for our own selfish reasons to get jobs and line the pockets of these elitists and their cronies.
Sorry, but I won't be losing sleep over this one.

Yep the world realy must hate the USA after all they have saddled you with the Olympics on 4 occasions now that is more than any other country on earth. If I was you I would praise the Lord that they have finaly taken pity on you and given it to Brazil instead.
One thing about why Brazil got it is they have the Soccer World cup in 2014 which means a lot of the infrastructure will allready be in place therby cutting down on the cost.

Lets be honest guy's he was in a loose, loose situation, if you had got it then there would have been complaints about him showing off and how it was all a world wide plot or he had bought them off LOL If he had not even gone then it would have been said he did not care about America Etc.

Naw. It would not have registered hardly a blip on the news if he had not gone and we had still not got them. I am in IL and I couldn't have cared less about the Olympics going to Chicago.

Can anyone name - without googling or having got the info from listening to the recent news, etc - the last five times the US lost an Olympic bid like this? I can't name 1 and I don't think most people in America could unless they were int eh city that lost. They don't really care.
