Are disturbed people held to a different standard???

Are obviously disturbed or crazy individuals held to a different standard when it comes to lying to congress? Here is Mama D (under oath) trying her best to talk out a lie she got herself into about seeing the levee's blown-up during hurricane Katrina If it were anyone else "acting normally" they'd be prosecuted for perjury.

Similar statements, have also been voiced by Louis Farrakhan, leader of the nation of Islam, and director Spike Lee, who said“I don't find it too far-fetched,” in a recent television interview.

You would have the "black caucus" of congress anong with all the dim witts that usually support them going to war with anyone who whould even suggest such a thing as pergery. So be quiet about this stuff :secret:

It is all about race baiting and blaming somebody else (in this case, the white man) for what took place in New Orleans. Generation after generation of people dependent on the government for their social programs have created a mind set that somebody else is always responsible for their ills.

We also live in a day and age where if a white person questions the statements and testimony of a person of color, that person is then viewed as racist. Face it, a white person can call out another white person and it is no big deal. Heaven help us if a white person would question a person of color with the same enthusiasm because it would be all about race.

So a "pass" is issued to the Farrakhan's and Jackson's of the world because only people of their color are allowed to criticize them, NOBODY else. The same holds true for people of color commedians like Richard Pryor (who just died), Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock. For instance, Chris Rock once said, "Nothing a white man with a penny hates more than a n***** with a nickel." Imagine if that was said by a white comedian. If a white person did their same exact act, word for word, that person would have hung out to dry by the main stream media. It is okay for these comedians to criticize and make fun of whites, but if you a white person, you are not allowed to say ANYTHING negative about people of color because you will be called a racist and you will be hammered relentlessly.

I watched some of these proceedings on C-Span and just shook my head. I was waiting for some congressman to call out this ridiculous testimony and remind them they are under oath. Yeah right!!...like that was going to happen.

No justice, no peace...so I am going down to Best Buy and "take" a Plasma HD television because society owes it to me. As one looter said on the evening news, "Sometimes you have to do what comes natural."

Great liars do a great damage to this country. These days, it seems as though a lie is as good as the truth if it works. I love the way politicians contradict their earlier statements, even when the contrary statements were made only a few months ago. Do they really think the public is that stupid? yes. Or, does it even matter with a large segment of the population that these people routinely make stuff up for their own political advantage.

It will be very satisfying to me when Iraq squares it away, the United States pulls out 100,000 troops, and G.W. Bush is widely recognized by historians as the President who changed the Arab world forever. Clinton will be remembered as the president who failed to respond to difficult situations and received BJs from a child in the Oval Office. G.W. Bush will be remembered as the inspired national leader who accomplished the seemingly impossible; an Arab democracy in the middle of the Middle East.

 

How can you evil people say such things about these nice people (who would never ever lie ) dont you realise that they had depraved childhoods and are social & economic Pariahs OOps sorry I mean inept OOps sorry again I mean we must show them that we love them :hug: and not doubt them :yawn:

There's nothing unusual going on here. The justice system in this country is in tatters thanks to liberal judges, and unscrupulous lawyers. Everybody hates lawyers, I can tell because of all the lawyer jokes on this forum, but why is this??? It's because most of them are crooks who are perverting the judicial system. I was shocked that none of those judges let off Tookie Williams. I don't know why you are so shocked, bone.

As for putting words into people's mouths, find one more post on this link that even mentions the word "lawyer." And, all these so called "jokes" are, in fact, just that. JOKES, intended to make people laugh. GOOD HUMOR JOKES.

It seems that they could disprove her assertion pretty easily unless the evidence was destroyed in the flood. Personally I love a good conspiracy theory (as you know if you have read my other posts).

In the year 2050 when it is widely believed that whites will eventually be the minority in this country, I wonder if it would be okay to have a White Entertainment Television network similiar to the Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T.)?? I was thinking about that after I read post #5.

Once you start putting white, brown or black in front of titles, aren't you promoting racism? The same goes for this Hypen-American society. I am a American. I am NOT a Polish-German-Austrian-Russian-Czech-American (yes, my ancestors visited their neighboring countries and ahem...made more ancestors). I am a American first and foremost. I was born here and those that were born legally in this country should call themselves American and NOTHING more.

Is it too much to call out a person of another race when they are so blantantly wrong?? Or are we afraid that such questioning and posturing will be viewed as simple racism?

The same goes for sports. I was at a Pop Warner football game and I listened to people of color yell at their son, "Don't let that white boy behind you...remember, you are faster than he is!!" Of course it was okay for them to say something like this, but could you imagine if a white person said out loud to his son "not to gyrate his hips like a black person after he caught a pass??"

You would Jesse Jackson and Sharpton come down on you so hard that your head would spin.

So as I think about this question, I do believe that society as a whole does have differant standards and we are afraid to call out a person of another race/relgion/etc a "jerk" without fear of being labeled a racist. Is there a double-standard? I think so...what do you think?

 

When the spike lee movie came out "White Men Can't Jump" it became popular for anyone who was not Black in NYC to hear that phase being shouted at them from walking up the stairs to jogging in a park. I used to respond to the people making that comment with, "Yeah, but we can read". Got messy once or twice but olive skin people can throw a punch. Racism does exist in this nation and anyone who is white thinks it is the whites should try to walk thru any housing project neighborhood in New York City that is not spanish.

i think you have a typo on the date that this would happen. you put 2050 but i think you ment 2005. the thing that erks me is the "you inslaved my people" crap. my family wasnt even over here back then. so if anyone says that then they are being racist for thinking all white people are the same.

the fact is i could go on and on about how unfair the country is these days but then alot of you guys would think that im just some dumb bigot.

one more thing before i go is when whats his face said "George bush dont care bout no black people" i just want to say Opera Winfrey(and every other celebrity) dont care bout no white people. we(floridians) got hit by 4 or 5 hurricanes in 04 and i didnt see anyone from the movies on my fromt lawn.

Midas thank you for restoring my faith in Americans, It Is something that has always annoyed me this African/American, Irish/American, Mexican/American business you are all 1st and foremost Americans if you were born there the rest is secondary without this Americanism how can you hope to survive as a nation and not tear yourself apart with factionalism.

You ask the question, so here is how I come down on this question.
When a black guy is acting like either Jessie Jackson or The Rev. Sharpton, I usually refer to them as niggers. Why, just because that is the way I think of them, with contempt and disgust. Do I worrry about them coming down on me for calling them that? Absolutely not! I give them credit for having that much sense.
As for how someone else wants to think of me, or call me names such as racist. Who gives a tinkers damn, what these type of black or white trash thing of anything. They can PC themselves right back where they came from if they don't like what I say and believe. So when we find one of the "cowboys" around here riding 'sidesaddle' we call them queer and send them packing back home to Oklahoma to their friends. Frankly Midas, I don't give a damn!
