Danr where is your evidence for this statement? 'Black voters in Florida loose the right to vote' again where is the evidence? I have continuously asked you to supply evidence to support your arguments and to date you have not responded once.

The Koran is an Arabic book. It does not translate- look it up.

Then tell me what those english speaking muslims are reading here in America? You right Danr...every translation of the Koran into English has been part of the right-wing-conspiracy. We translated the Koran into a book of hate to go to war against islamic terrorists. You tell me to look it up, but you can't bring any of your facts to the table. Typical.

You know guys, the best thing I have done lately has been when I pushed the "IGNOR" button on this frigging lunatic's fantasys. It works as well or better than Duct Tape! I have all the advantages, as I can still insult him and not be bothered with his rantings.:thumb:

You did not look it up. I am totally corect that the Koran can not be translated. As I mentioned it is a work of poetry with many levels of meaning. To take some parts out and hammer on the surface meaning is way beyond ignorant it is absolutely irresponsible.

Then IF the Koran cannot be translated (which in itself does not make any sense because that is what translators do for a living), how do YOU know that the Koran is about peace and tolerance of other religions??

I came to my conclusions by reading the English version of the Koran...which you are now saying, is all wrong, and one big misunderstanding.

    How convenient...

    TRANSLATIONS OF THE KORAN

Muslims not speaking Arabic will normally stick to an Arabic version of the Koran. Most of them will learn how to read Arabic text, and learn some Arabic words, and then read the Koran according to the way described above. In general, Muslims will agree that the Koran can never be correctly translated, and that the Arabic original is the only version that is correct.

The Qur'an is written in an especially elegant and difficult Arabic

These are a few thoughts on the subject

You are just making an excuse for this religion and anybody with half of brain can surely see that your contention, "it is not possible to translate arabic into other languages" is nothing more than a excuse for islamic behavior throughout the world.

You claim to know about this religion from conversations you have had with muslim clerics and scholars. If you are in fact muslim, let me know so at least I know where you are coming from. It would save all of us grief than to deal with you.

I can see to a point to what I think Danr is trying to say. In every translation of anything to an other language there is always words that can have multiple meanings. Since it was written so long ago what was the meaning the author truly meant and has it been ever twisted in revisions and such. Like any religious scripture its really up to the individual on how they can take it. Others will tell him what it means but does it really mean that. Its all up to interpretation. For example The bible to me is just a set of guidlines and rules on how you should treat others. But I bet if you sat 10 people in a room and had them discuss the same passage there would be a couple different opinions on it. Also he mentions not a proper translation and this could be the case since it is an older language and as time goes by people don't use it as much and sort of can become lost. This is true since there is items out there that can not be translated. It could be the case with the item he is talking about and then you have to worry about the source and who is translating it if it can be. hopefully what I said makes sense :p

Perfectly. I believe this is the same argument used by the Supreme Court in making it's decisions for the last several years in relation to our Constitution.
As everyone knows, no one can be sure of what was meant except the Judges. Right.?:kewl:

No I really do not know about it- that is the point. Neither do you know about it.

There are factions in Islam who believe different things, they do not have a pope to provide unity. I will agree that some small factions are totally wacko and if we deal with those particular people with out collective foot on their throat I will not complain too much. But I do object to messing with decent folks who happen to be Muslim. Again Dearborn Michigan is FILLED with patriotic Muslims.

Now if we mistreat decent Muslims we have made a mistake of a strategic nature. We may cause a charismatic leader to emerge, and misuse those verses that you lifted from the Koran.

So what you are saying is the Koran is one big misunderstanding and that sword on this flag is used for carving turkeys, not the heads of infidels...right?

Heck no, I am not saying that there are no wack jobs in that population (I personally have know some of the "I hate America" types). But historically we did the crusades thing, not them. We were the bad guys as often as they were.

Excuse Danr...America did not participate in the Crusades.

As for your friends that hate America...please ask them to leave. Otherwise I have a size 14 foot that would love to kick them in their donkey's rear end if you can't muster it.

Can't muster it??? You will NEVER muster it!! What am I saying??

I believe that Nathan Bedford Forrest started the Klan. I suppose he could have been a Knight Templar, not sue though.

Did they hide out in Tennessee or Alabama?

Ill have to disagree with that one. I am not a historian but I have read and watched many articles about the knights templar and how they where originally part of the Kuklos clan (greek word meaning circle in which knights templar was the inner circle of this clan) and the knights of the golden circle. Anyways when the ruler of that time of the original kuklos clan disbanded because they where infiltrated by northerners who changed some of the lodges into racial hatrid and thus when they where disbanded the few that stayed behind including some prominent knights templers started the KKK ( Ku Klux Klan) the corrupted name.

He was one of the 12 leading members of the inner circle.
