This thread is specifically for those individuals who can't seem to find any thing positive to say for the Government of the United States. It is here to post your complaints, protests and vent your anger against any of the many events and happnings that don't seem to meet your approval. Feel free to ***** all you want as no one will think any less of you than they do now! Go ahead, show your true American spirit and patriotic zeal for supporting the USA. Remember, absolutely NO POSITIVE statements should be made in this thread. Keep with the spirit of the thread. Thank you!
Bush should have closed the borders then we wouldn't be getting all of those cold fronts from Canada. When Clinton was president it was spring all the time.
It is not fair to say the USA government is all bad, but it sure has taken a wrong turn the last few years. Pretty soon OldDan will want to take up residence in Rostov Na Donu:smile
Sadly, OldDan, we don't need another one of these threads. Look at every other thread relating to the u.s in this forum.
Well at least clinton wasn't a terrorist like bush!!!!!!!!!! From what I can remeber you guys had a stronger economy when clinton was in. I think all the you know what from the secretary actually relaxed him and made Clinton think. Either that or he was just to busy with that instead of war monging. HAHAHA
I'm sorry but how is Bush a terrorist? If anything to many American soldiers lives are being lost for he is trying to fight a clean war and ignoring our military might. Now other nations may be doing appeasements to the muslim terrorist world but in time that would not be enough. Look at France, in another 20 years it will not be their cars buring but their churches with people in them. Why any large building that can not be converted into a mosque will be destroyed. Now maybe you don't care but the next generation will for they will be suffering from others inactions. Sorry OldDan, I am sure I was not meant to respond but I just can't figure out why the people who are doing the murdering are excused and the people who stand for liberty are attacked.
I suppose if you had an objective definition a case could be made. We do have the largest store of weapons of mass destruction and we are the only nation to use nukes. These are tip of the iceberg things.
So now we have it, you are actually just anti-american. This answer is not just anti-bush but anti-american overall. and for the record you wrong again, we never used a nuclear bomb on another nation. and I bet you live a nice soft life in this nation that you seem to feel superior to.
I am big time pro America BIG TIME that is why I hate to see us surrender our defining characteristics. Stuff like the Patriot act and this torture thing are destroying America. Look, if you think that America is a piece of geography you are part of the problem. America is a set of values and torture is not a part of that. To be critical of America is the highest form of patriotism. The shallow patriotism you exhibit is the lowest form.
atomic / nucleur same thing to me and atomic was used twice. "As many know, the atomic bomb has been used only twice in warfare. The first was at Hiroshima. A uranium bomb nicknamed "Little Boy" (despite weighing in at over four and a half tons) was dropped on Hiroshima August 6, 1945. The Aioi Bridge, one of 81 bridges connecting the seven-branched delta of the Ota River, was the target; ground zero was set at 1,980 feet. At 0815 hours, the bomb was dropped from the Enola Gay. It missed by only 800 feet. At 0816 hours, in an instant, 66,000 people were killed and 69,000 injured by a 10-kiloton atomic explosion. On August 9, 1945, Nagasaki fell to the same treatment. This time a Plutonium bomb nicknamed "Fat Man" was dropped on the city. Though "Fat Man" missed its target by over a mile and a half, it still leveled nearly half the city. In a split second, Nagasaki's population dropped from 422,000 to 383,000. Over 25,000 people were injured. " note: Fission (A-Bomb) & Fusion (H-Bomb) There are two types of atomic explosions that can be facilitated by U-235: fission and fusion. Fission, simply put, is a nuclear reaction in which an atomic nucleus splits into fragments, usually two fragments of comparable mass, emitting 100 million to several hundred million volts of energy. This energy is expelled explosively and violently in the atomic bomb. A fusion reaction is usually started with a fission reaction, but unlike the fission (atomic) bomb, the fusion (hydrogen) bomb derives its power from the fusing of nuclei of various hydrogen isotopes into helium nuclei. http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aa050300a.htm
If you are so much against torture, then why do you post? Shallow patriotism, there is a difference of those who served their nation vs those who just live off of it.
Again you have a shallow notion of service. Almost ALL Americans are serving their nation, military provide one small service. This is a clear demonstration of your shallow patriotism.
As I have said many times in the past without any acknowledgement from the right that there are many ways to serve ones country. As a teacher, as a fireman, as a policeman, as a school crossing guard, as a coummunity activist, as an elected office holder, as a public defender, the list is endless. I've only come accross current or ex-military personnel that feel that they are the only ones serving their country. Like they are the only patriotic people in the country and if you haven't served as they have (mostly in non-combat situations I might add) then you just aren't as good of an American as they are. My guess is that these people go into the military and are fed this kind of hype and come out believing it. Well that's fine, but don't try and convince me that you are the only group that serves your country because that dog just won't hunt.
Amen! I guess that people can say they serve their country in many ways which may be true to some extent. But, unless you openly risk your life every day in your so-called "serving", then and only then can a person put themselves on a tier of "serving" equal to military service. No person can dispute that with of all these levels of serving your country, the military deserves and earns by their willingness to sacrifice their lives, the place of honor, at the head table. I'm not jealous and I'm not afraid to say thank you to our military veterans past and present. You deserve our ultimate and highest respect!

I'll say this much as someone who's been on both sides of the issue, serving your country. "Some Things Never Change." Bone
let me make my comment clear from above... I think many people are deserving of respect - in fact, I give people respect until they do something to lose it. My point is, every day millions of people can make choices/decisions that can make this world a better place - some of them do, and a lot of them don't. But to make such a comment that, unless you serve in the military, you aren't 'serving' your country... I just can't agree with that sort of statement. And to keep in the heart of this thread - Point blank, Bush damages this country... This country is to blame for allowing it to continue. I find that unfortunate.
