“When we have a mandate to help, in this case a request from the Iraqi government, and when we have the unique capabilities to help avert a massacre, than I believe the United States of America cannot turn a blind eye.” Obama
I think he's going to be studying the situation until helicopters are flying off the top of the US Embassy.
At least we know why we are there this time. I mean specifically, instead of the long list of vacillating reasons the Bush/Cheney cabal kept giving us. Interestingly, we are destroying weapons the Bush/Cheney cabal provided and ISIL captured. Shock and awe baby! Shock and awe!
You mean the ones Obama gave them? Funny, but I seem to remember someone celebrating that we left Iraq.
Funny that you characterize the world as burning and yet during Bush/Cheney we were involved in 2, count 'em 2, of the longest wars in our history. You have a funny standard of world chaos that seems to involve some exponential calculation when a Democrat is in the White House that you don't seem to apply to the Republicans in the White House. Hum?
And under Obama we have been involved in 4 wars with 3 more wars we are probably backing into. BTW, do you even know what "exponential calculation" is?
Here’s A Picture Of John McCain Hanging Out With ISIS Freedom Fighters In 2013 the enema of my enema by Doktor Zoom Jun 26 4:04 pm 2014 So here’s a heck of a thing: Back in May 2013, Forever Warmonger John McCain was really excited about the prospects of arming the Syrian moderates who were fighting to free that country from the iron grip of Bashar al-Assad. He even sneaked into the country to meet with the head of the Free Syrian Army, Gen. Salim Idris, the fellow in the striped shirt there (Idris was ousted in February of this year). Only one small problem with the little photo-op: In addition to Idris, some of the other guys in the pic are apparently members of a slightly less “moderate” group: ISIS, the guys who are currently bringing down Iraq, and the photo is reportedly being circulated by ISIS as proof of their legitimacy. Oops. And this is where you may want to get your skeptic hat on: The initial source for that claim appears to be righty blog WeaselZippers (they don’t cite a source), and so far, most of the reposts have been wingnut blogs trumpeting it as “proof” that there’s no such thing as a “moderate Muslim.” Even so, we’re happy to pass it along, if for no other reason that it’s yet more evidence that John McCain loves him some military intervening, regardless of who it is that we’re intervening for, just as long as we’re bombing somebody. And if you’d like a more nuanced look at McCain’s love for whover he thinks is the enemy of our enemy, go take a look at this piece at the Atlantic, which frankly just left us thinking what a wonderful can of worms America opened when it “liberated” Iraq.” Read more at Wonkette: http://wonkette.com/552931/heres-a-...h-isis-freedom-fighters-in-2013#ixzz39omTPzrK
No, McCain Wasn’t Posing w/ISIS Members June 23, 2014 by Daniel Greenfield 25 Comments Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century. 1491915 Print This Post This photo is making the rounds of the blogsphere accompanied by the claim that ISIS members on Twitter are claiming he posed with them. I have yet to see a specific citation of that claim even being made. Not that it matters. That isn’t to say that McCain wasn’t posing with terrorists and terrorist supporters. He was. But they were members of the Free Syrian Army, which had strong links to the Muslim Brotherhood and other Jihadist groups. McCain is standing next to General Salim Idris, the front man for the FSA, who wasn’t actually in Syria. The man to the right of him is Mouaz Moustafa, a Palestinian Arab lobbyist for all sorts of groups who supports Hamas. So terrorists yes, ISIS no.
ISIS brags about links to US Senator John McCain ISIS claims some of the Jihadists in this photo are members. The man on the far left is the notorious “Cannibal Jihadist” who had himself videotaped eating a human heart. The Unite states is manufacturing it’s own enemies. ISIS fighters are bragging on the internet about having their photo with US Senator John McCain During the US bombardment of Libya, US backed Sunni Jihadists were actually bragging to media about fighting US troops in Iraq and having ties to Al-Qaeda. Nevertheless, Obama ordered the military to stand down and allow Sunni Jihadists to loot stockpiles of Libyan weapons. These weapons are now being used to wage Jihad in Mali, Nigeria, Chad, Syria, Iraq, and beyond. Now Obama is using these very same weapons to justify US military action in several African nations. The US then began supporting Sunni Jihadists in Syria. Among other things, the US provided Jihadists with a large number of Toyota trucks. When ISIS came roaring over the Iraqi border, the main vehicle their fighters were driving was Toyota trucks. The international media is also reporting that the United States gave anti-tank missiles to Turkey to distribute to Jihadists groups. The entire mission was green lighted by US Senator John McCain. In fact John McCain even had his picture taken with a group of Jihadists. One of those Jihadists was FSA Khalid al-Hamad. It was Khalid al-Hamad who became known as the “cannibal Jihadists” after having a friend video tape him eating a human heart! It is also been reported that Khalid al-Hamad called his unit the “Osama Bin Laden Brigade.”
Better than David Horowitz anyway. It's kind of hard to deny reality when one of the ISIS leaders is in the picture. Unless you are a Right winger anyway. You freaks show an amazing capacity to deny reality. Go YOU!
So ISIS is better that Horowitz? Nice crowd you are hanging with. You need to get Ayers in here with them. BTW, just where did Horowitz come from in this conversation?
Just so there's no mistake: Do you oppose the US using air power to support the Kurds against the "Islamic State"? If so, why?
No, I don't oppose it, but I have a feeling that it is too little too late. They are too well organized and the only way they will be beaten is with troops on the ground. The Iraq army doesn't look like it can manage that and Obama has show little evidence he is willing to give anyone the arms needed to really do any good. You have another idea?
So, he's at it again. Nobel-Peace-Prize-winning-Obama bombed the hell out of Libya, killed Gaddafi, his son and three of his grandchildren, sent a drone which killed Anwar al-Awlaki (an American citizen, btw) and sent another drone that killed al-Awlaki's 16-year-old son, wanted to bomb Syria (until Putin came up with a plan that proffered no bloodshed) and now is unleashing the dogs of war against Iraq. I wonder how many fools who voted for Obama knew that he was such a hawk. Let me rephrase that. How many fools who voted for Obama CARED that he was such a hawk?
And now ISIS has new tactics - they are hiding amongst the populous. So now when you bomb them, it will be just like Hamas. Troops on the ground anyone?
